[Reaction] (Play any time, even before spells and abilities resolve.) Draw 3.
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains cover Calm and Mind: OGN-255 Nine-Tailed Fox, SFD-189 Fire Below the Mountain, UNL-189 Bashful Bloom, VEN-145 Curator of the Sands.
Prerequisites
- THE DISCOUNT IS FOR YOUR SECOND CARD, NOT YOUR FIRST. The trigger is 'When you play your first card each turn' and it discounts 'the next card you play this turn'. Premonition has to be the second play of the turn, so a cheap first card is part of the price.
- 'if I'm at a battlefield' IS A CONDITION, NOT AN EFFECT. 383.2.a.1: an additional conditional statement immediately after the Condition is part of the Trigger Condition, and its own worked example is Sona, Harmonious's 'at the end of your turn, if I'm at a battlefield'. So the Heron has to be standing at a battlefield at the moment you play your first card, not later - and a 7-Might body parked at a battlefield is a target.
- ONE DISCOUNT PER TURN. It is one trigger on one card, not a standing reduction.
- Arithmetic against the declared quantities: Premonition's base cost is 2 Energy + 3 Power; 356.4 applies the discount of 2 Energy + 2 rainbow Power; the remainder is 0 Energy + 1 Power for Draw 3. That is the source's claim, exactly.
Steps
- Have Astral Heron at a battlefield before your first play of the turn.
- Play any cheap card. The Heron's trigger fires and marks the next card for 2 Energy + 2 rainbow Power less.
- Play Premonition: 0 Energy + 1 Power, Draw 3. Its [Reaction] timing means the discounted play can also happen inside a showdown, which is when three cards for one Power is worth the most.
Per iteration
3 cards for 1 Power, once per turn
How it ends
engine only — one discounted card per turn; nothing here scores

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue46-mining-walk.md), issue #46 section 3. The source's number is exact and the walk confirms it against 356.4. What the source does not say, and what makes or breaks the line in play, is in the notables: the discount lands on the SECOND card of the turn, and 'if I'm at a battlefield' is a Trigger Condition under 383.2.a.1 measured when the first card is played. Opening Riot's Vendetta errata page for a different question (issue #46 section 5, the alleged [Temporary]-on-Equipment errata, which does not exist) confirmed as a side effect that this card was reworded on 2026-07-23 and that our corpus already carries the new text. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Depends on no unruled reading.
