Combo · ENGINE
Harnessed Dragon is both a kill and Atakhan's discount — E8 + 2 Power of printed cost turns a 10-Energy body into a 2-Energy one that forces a kill every attack
Pieces
- Atakhan ×3
UNL-170 · payoff · order
You may kill a friendly unit as an additional cost to play me. If you do, I cost 1 Energy less for each Energy it costs and 1 Order Power less for each Power it costs. [Ganking] (I can move from battlefield to battlefield.) When I attack, the defender must kill one of their units here.

Deck
- Both cards are mono-Order, so 103.1.b.3 admits any legend with Order in its pair: SFD-201/SFD-249 Chem-Baroness, UNL-199/UNL-235 Deceiver, SFD-197/SFD-247 Emperor of the Sands, VEN-147/VEN-193 Eye of Twilight, SFD-205/SFD-251 Grand Duelist, UNL-195/UNL-233 Green Father, OGN-253/OGN-302 Hand of Noxus, VEN-155/VEN-197 Heart of the Tempest, OGN-265/OGN-308 Herald of the Arcane, UNL-203/UNL-237 Keeper of the Hammer, OGS-021 Lady of Luminosity, VEN-153/VEN-196 Matriarch of War, OGS-023 Might of Demacia - Starter, UNL-187/UNL-229 Piltover Enforcer, OGN-261/OGN-306 Radiant Dawn, OGN-269/OGN-310 The Boss, SFD-187/SFD-243 Void Burrower.
Prerequisites
- THE LEDGER, WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. Harnessed Dragon costs E8 + 2 Order Power and kills an enemy unit on the way in. Atakhan's printed E10 + 3 Order Power is reduced by 1 Energy for each Energy and 1 Order Power for each Power of the sacrificed unit's cost, so killing the Dragon leaves E2 + 1 Order Power for a 7-Might [Ganking] body. Total across both: E10 + 3 Power for two bodies' worth of value, one kill on the way in, and a forced kill on every attack thereafter.
- 206 IS WHY THE DISCOUNT IS RELIABLE: a cost-triggered check reads the PRINTED or base cost, so a Harnessed Dragon you played at a discount, or for free, still counts its full E8 + 2 Power. The project already records this for Lady of Luminosity and Curator of the Sands; here it is a discount rather than a trigger, and the same paragraph governs.
- THE ATTACK CLAUSE NEEDS A REAL COMBAT AND A GARRISON. 'When I attack' requires the Attacker designation, which 464.2.c.3 grants only inside a Combat that 323.9 staged — and 323.9 stages one only where units of opposing players are present. Walking onto an empty battlefield is not an attack (807.1.d, 383.4.e, 461) and the clause fires not at all.
- AND IT SAYS 'ONE OF THEIR UNITS HERE', so it reaches only the garrison being attacked, never their base. What it does reach it reaches through [Deflect]: 355.10.f means nothing is targeted, which is the difference between this and every targeted removal spell in the domain.
- [GANKING] IS WHAT MAKES IT REPEATABLE ACROSS THE BOARD: 144.4.c.1 lets him take his Standard Move from battlefield to battlefield, so he can attack a different garrison each turn without walking home first. 810.1.c.3 keeps it an option and not an extra move — one attack a turn, 144.2's exhaust each time.
- THE SACRIFICE IS AN ADDITIONAL COST, so 356.2.b.1's step 2 is where you choose to pay it, and 203.3 is the only thing that can stop you: you must actually control a friendly unit to kill. Atakhan at full price is E10 + 3 Power and still castable if the Dragon has already died in combat.
Steps
- Play Harnessed Dragon (E8 + 2 Order Power). Its play trigger kills an enemy unit — this half targets, so a [Deflect] body costs extra to choose (809.1.c).
- On a later turn, play Atakhan and choose to pay the additional cost at step 2 of playing (356.2.b.1), killing the Harnessed Dragon.
- 206 reads the Dragon's printed E8 + 2 Order Power, so Atakhan's E10 + 3 Order Power is reduced to E2 + 1 Order Power.
- Move Atakhan to a garrisoned battlefield. 190.3.a.1 applies Contested, 323.9 stages the Combat and 464.2.c.3 gives him the Attacker designation.
- His trigger resolves: the defender must kill one of their units at that battlefield. 355.10.f means nothing was targeted, so no Deflect Value was paid and no choose-trigger fired — but the defender picks which body dies.
- 144.4.c.1's [Ganking] lets him cross to the other battlefield next turn and do it again, once per turn (144.2, 315.1.b).
Per iteration
one forced enemy kill per attack, untargetable, on a 7-Might mobile body bought for E2 + 1 Order Power
How it ends
engine only — one forced kill per attack and one attack per turn (144.2 + 315.1.b); three copies of each card (103.2.b) and nothing here scores

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #180 — the first entry to use UNL-170 or OGN-234. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The discount is priced on 206 (printed cost) so it survives however the fodder was actually paid for, and the fodder was chosen by reading every mono-Order printed cost rather than by eye. Trap check: the attack clause is stated with 464.2.c.3 + 323.9 + 807.1.d so it is never claimed on an empty battlefield; 355.10.f is quoted so the untargetability is a rule and the defender's own choice is stated as a limit rather than hidden; 810.1.c.3 is cited so [Ganking] is not read as an extra move; 203.3 is cited for the one thing that can stop the additional cost.
