Garbage Grabber recycles the dead Elder Dragon so Dazzling Aurora can free-cast it again
Pieces
- Dazzling Aurora ×1
OGN-160 · engine · body
At the end of your turn, reveal cards from the top of your Main Deck until you reveal a unit and banish it. Play it, ignoring its cost, and recycle the rest.
- Elder Dragon ×1
UNL-118 · payoff · body
Any amount of your damage is enough to kill enemy units. When you play me, choose up to one enemy unit at each location. Deal 1 to them.
- Garbage Grabber ×1
OGN-099 · engine · mind
Recycle 3 from your trash, 1 Energy, Exhaust: Draw 1.
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains are Body and Mind; the source builds it under a Jayce legend, and the Aurora and Dragon are Body while the Grabber is Mind.
Prerequisites
- #59 KILLED GARBAGE GRABBER INSIDE A LOOP AND THAT DOES NOT APPLY HERE. The draw lens declared OGN-099 dead because its cost carries an exhaust and every pass of a loop is the same turn. This use is BETWEEN turns: the Aurora fires 'at the end of your turn', the Grabber readies in your next Awaken (315.1.b), so one activation a turn is exactly what it needs. #62 flags this explicitly and the walk confirms it.
- THE RECYCLE IS THREE CARDS AND YOU CHOOSE THEM. 416.6: 'take X cards of the instructed player's choice from the relevant zone'. So the Dragon goes back specifically, and 416.5 - random order at the bottom when two or more are recycled at once - is why the Aurora's dig matters more than the position.
- THE AURORA NEVER BURNS OUT LOOKING. 431.1.c: an instruction to look at or reveal past the deck 'does not Burn Out'. That is the exact failure a citation audit found on dazzling-aurora-elder-dragon once, and it is cited correctly here.
- IT IS ONE FREE UNIT A TURN AND NOT A LOOP. The Aurora fires once per end of turn and the Grabber once per turn, so the cycle is a turn long; the Dragon has to be drawn or revealed again after it is recycled, which 416.5's random bottom does not guarantee.
- 9 Energy + 2 Power for the Aurora and 12 + 4 for a hard-cast Dragon is why the free-cast is the whole point; the Grabber at 2 Energy is the cheap half.
- Against dazzling-aurora-elder-dragon, which is the same Aurora and the same Dragon: that entry is the free-cast itself. This one is the recursion behind it, and the source names it as the answer to running out of Dragons.
- 424.1.a.2 is the MECHANISM under the 431.1.c protection this entry already cites, and the entry carries the consequence without it: "Cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from." Riot's own example is that a card Revealed from the top of the Main Deck "is still the top card of that player's Main Deck." So revealing can never Burn Out because NOTHING LEAVES THE DECK, which 424.1.a states as the general fact: "Revealed is a temporary state and is not a zone." Same shape this file records for 355.7 against 355.10.d and 811.6 against the tail of 811.1.b.
Steps
- Dazzling Aurora and Garbage Grabber on the board; an Elder Dragon has already been played and died.
- During your turn, activate Garbage Grabber (recycle 3 from your trash, 1 Energy, exhaust): choose the Elder Dragon among the three (416.6). It goes to the bottom of your Main Deck; you also draw 1.
- At the end of your turn, Dazzling Aurora reveals from the top until it hits a unit, banishes it and plays it ignoring its cost - looking past an empty deck is safe (431.1.c).
- When that unit is the Dragon, it arrives for free with its 'deal 1 to one enemy unit at each location', which kills anything because 'any amount of your damage is enough'.
- The Grabber readies in your next Awaken (315.1.b) and the cycle is available again.
Per iteration
one Elder Dragon returned from trash to deck per turn, for 1 Energy and a card drawn; the Aurora free-casts it later
How it ends
engine only - one recursion a turn, and the Aurora still has to find the Dragon again

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue62-section3.md), issue #62 section 3. OGN-099 Garbage Grabber appeared in no entry before this, and it very nearly did not appear at all: the #59 draw lens declared it dead because its cost carries an exhaust and a loop's passes are all the same turn. #62 flagged that this use is BETWEEN turns and therefore untouched by that finding, and the walk confirms it - one activation per turn is exactly the rate the Aurora runs at. That is a good example of why a lens verdict is scoped to the lens: 'dead inside a loop' is not 'dead'. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Trap check: no attack designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token is ever recycled (185); no recall; 431.1.c is cited for the reveal and it says what the entry says it says.
