Payoff
Deck
- Any legend with Chaos among its two domains (103.1.b.3) — 16 names: Loose Cannon (OGN-251), Unforgiven (OGN-259), Swift Scout (OGN-263), Bounty Hunter (OGN-267), Dark Child - Starter (OGS-017), Glorious Executioner (SFD-185), Blade Dancer (SFD-195), Prodigal Explorer (SFD-199), Battle Mistress (SFD-203), Bloodharbor Ripper (UNL-185), Gloomist (UNL-193), Scorn of the Moon (UNL-197), Voidreaver (UNL-201), Master of Shadows (VEN-143), Soul's Reflection (VEN-151), Heart of the Tempest (VEN-155).
- A battlefield you control with no facedown card on it, one turn before you want the Windsinger (811.1.b).
Prerequisites
- THIS IS THE WHOLE OF THE BROKER'S MATRIX ROW: ONE PARTNER. The cause/trigger matrix gives `SFD-121 Black Market Broker` exactly one uncovered partner, `SFD-138 Windsinger`, and the reason is a spelling: the Windsinger prints `Hidden` with no brackets, which is a registered anomaly in docs/data-anomalies.md and the reason the project's [Hidden] predicates are written as the reminder-anchored form rather than `\[Hidden\]`. The card is a fully normal hidden unit despite the printing.
- THE GOLD IS NEXT TURN'S POWER, NOT THIS TURN'S, AND THE ENTRY REFUSES TO PRETEND OTHERWISE. 187.5: 'A Gold gear token is a domainless gear token with "[Reaction][>] Kill this, [E]: [Add] [A]."' The Broker plays it EXHAUSTED, and its ability's cost includes that exhaust — so it cannot pay for itself and is dead until 415.3.a readies it in your next Awakening. The one exception in the pool is `SFD-171 Renata Glasc, Industrialist` ('Your tokens enter ready', R25 = A on issue #11), and she is mono-Order, so she cannot join this mono-Chaos pair under any legend (103.1.b.4). Price the Gold as one rainbow next turn.
- THE BOUNCE IS CONFINED, AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT DEFENSIVE. 811.1.d.2 keeps a hidden permanent's play-effect targets at the battlefield it was hidden at, and 811.1.b hides only 'at a battlefield you control' — so 'another unit at a battlefield with 3 Might or less' means a unit at YOUR battlefield. On the opponent's turn that is one of their attackers of 3 Might or less, removed from the combat before damage without a kill; on your turn it can equally be one of YOUR OWN bodies ('another unit', not 'an enemy unit'), rescued from a losing combat or rebought for a second play trigger.
- AND IT ALL HAPPENS IN A CLOSED STATE FOR ZERO ENERGY. 811.1.b's tail grants [Reaction] to the hidden card and 813.1.c.1 admits it to 'Closed States on any player's turn', so the Windsinger, the bounce, the Broker's Gold and a 1-Might body all arrive inside the opponent's combat for one rainbow paid a turn earlier.
- A bounce is not a kill: nothing that keys on a unit dying fires for either player, the opponent keeps the card, and 431's Burn Out rules never come into it. What it buys is one combat and one re-payment of the card's cost.
- The ceiling is 811.1.b's, as everywhere in this family: one facedown card per battlefield you control, two battlefields in a Duel (485.4), so the Broker's trigger fires at most twice a turn and mints at most two Gold.
- ONE ENERGY AT REACTION SPEED ANSWERS THE BODY THIS ENGINE STANDS ON (Windsinger (M1 x1)). OGN-133 Flurry of Blades is Body, 1 Energy: "[Reaction] (Play any time, even before spells and abilities resolve.) Deal 1 to all units at battlefields." 143.2.a kills a unit whose marked damage equals or exceeds its Might and 142.4.b defines Lethal Damage as "a non-zero amount greater than or equal to that Unit's Might", so one damage is lethal to every body of Might 1 or less. RUNNING MORE COPIES IS NOT A DEFENCE: 370.1.a.2 makes events simultaneous when they "are all the result of the same Game Action", so the sweep kills every copy at once. And because it carries [Reaction], 813.1.c.1 lets it be played "during Closed States on any player's turn" - it never has to be cast a turn early the way the base-reaching removals do, and it can land in response to the very trigger this engine exists to fire. WHAT PROTECTS IT: this entry's cards are chaos, so the second domain is still free and CHOOSING IT DECIDES WHICH PROTECTION YOU GET - 103.1.b allows exactly one partner, so these are alternatives and not a list you can run together. only if the second domain is FURY: VEN-018 Rage Amplifier (gear, 'Your units have +1 Might' - the only UNCONDITIONAL board-wide one, +2 while Empowered) | only if the second domain is ORDER: OGN-243 Darius, Executioner ('Other friendly units have +1 Might HERE' - his battlefield only, and never himself); OGS-013 Garen, Commander (same clause as Darius, same limits) | only if the second domain is MIND: UNL-077 Soul Shepherd ('Your TOKEN units have +1 Might' - tokens only, nothing for a printed body); SFD-089 Rumble, Scrapper ('Your MECHS have +1 Might' - Mech tag only) | colourless, so legal whatever the second domain is: OGN-294 Trifarian War Camp (colourless battlefield, 'Units here have +1 Might') - but 485.5 makes a battlefield you bring a 1-in-3, and 103.4.c forbids two of the same name. A single-target pump is no use against a sweep that hits every body at once, which is why only permanent, board-wide sources are listed.
Steps
- Play Black Market Broker (3 Energy) and keep him on the board.
- On your turn, pay 1 rainbow to hide the Windsinger at a battlefield you control (811.1.b).
- On a later turn — including the opponent's, in any Closed State (811.1.b's [Reaction] grant, 813.1.c.1) — play the Windsinger from face down for 0 Energy. 811.1.d.1 puts her at that battlefield.
- Her play trigger returns another unit at that battlefield with 3 Might or less to its owner's hand (811.1.d.2 confines the choice there).
- The Broker's trigger fires on the facedown play: play a Gold gear token, exhausted.
- The Gold is Power on your NEXT turn, once 415.3.a readies it — 187.5 puts an exhaust in its own cost, so it cannot pay for itself the turn it appears.
Per iteration
-1 card, -1 rainbow now, +1 body at 1 Might, one unit of 3 Might or less returned to hand, +1 rainbow Power next turn
How it ends
engine — a free 1-Might body, a bounce of any 3-Might-or-less unit at your battlefield, and one rainbow of Power next turn, for one rainbow banked earlier; nothing here scores

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #169, matrix row 15 — the only row in the slice whose partner list has a single entry, and the pair had never been written despite SFD-121 appearing in five entries. SFD-138 Windsinger was in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt (the bracket-less 'Hidden' is reproduced as printed). 103.1.b.3, 103.1.b.4, 187.5, 415.3.a, 485.4, 811.1.b, 811.1.d.1, 811.1.d.2, 813.1.c.1 opened in the Core Rules file. Both cards legal in both formats. Card set SFD-121 + SFD-138 is not an existing uses[] set. No unruled reading. R25 = A is cited only to say why it does NOT apply: Renata Glasc, Industrialist is mono-Order and cannot share an identity with two mono-Chaos cards.
