155 is what separates the Order removal ladder — Vengeance is cheaper and wider and can never take a battlefield, because the Conquer happens inside the Showdown

Payoff
Deck
- Both cards are mono-Order, so 103.1.b.1 is satisfied by any legend with Order as one of its two domains. Neither is Signature, so 103.2.d.2 imposes nothing.
Prerequisites
- 155 IS THE WHOLE LADDER: 'A spell can be played during an Open State outside of Showdowns on its controller's turn.' That is the default, and [Action] is the exception (806.1.b: 'permission to be played or activated during Showdowns, even when it is not the Controlling player's turn'). So `OGN-229 Vengeance` — E4 + 2 Power, 'Kill a unit', no location clause and no gate — is cheaper and strictly wider in WHAT it can kill, and it can never do this job, because it cannot be played once the Combat has opened.
- THE CHAIN, IN ORDER. Move in (190.3.a.1 applies Contested), 323.9 stages the Combat, 323.13 opens it; inside the Showdown, kill the last defending unit; 465.1 makes the damage tasks Outstanding only 'If both Attacking and Defending units remain at this battlefield', so with the defence empty no damage is assigned at all; 466.3.a: 'A Player has won a combat if they received either the attacker or defender designation and are the only Player that has units remaining at this battlefield during this step'; 466.5 establishes Control and 466.5.d — 'Establishing Control results in a Conquer if that player has not yet scored this Battlefield this turn.'
- A BLOODLESS CONQUER GENERATES ZERO EXCESS DAMAGE. 465.1's tasks never become Outstanding, so nothing is assigned and R28's 'attacking Might that never got assigned' has nothing to measure — the removal-conquer family and the six excess-damage cards are mutually exclusive in principle, not merely by domain.
- AND IT IS CAPPED AT TWO A TURN WHATEVER YOU SPEND. 469.1 defines a Conquer at a battlefield 'not yet Scored this turn', 470 caps Scoring once per battlefield per turn and 485.4 puts two battlefields on a Duel table. Three Blasts of Power do not buy three Conquers.
- THE ATTACKER HAS TO SURVIVE TO THE STEP, WHICH IS WHY A BODY IS IN uses[] AND NOT IN A NOTABLE. 466.3.a asks who 'has units remaining'; if the defender's removal answers yours first there is no winner and 466.3.d is No Result. Vanguard Sergeant is chosen for being the cheapest mono-Order body with no text to lose — the line wants a garrison, not a payoff.
- TWO NAMED MEMBERS OF THE SAME FAMILY ARE BANNED IN BOTH FORMATS (`OGN-168 Fight or Flight` and `SFD-122 Called Shot`, both marked `[BANNED constructed:banned, 2v2:banned]` in `data/corpus_flat.txt`), which is worth knowing before a list is built on the shape.
- AND THE LADDER'S OTHER RUNGS ARE PRICED THE SAME WAY: `SFD-158 Sandshifter` is a body and gated at Might 3; `VEN-131 Decree of Unity` is E2 + 1 Power and gated on an enemy Chaos unit or gear; `OGN-225 Solari Chief` kills at any Might but needs the target already stunned, and 423.1.a.2 clears a stun at cleanup step 3d so both halves must be cast the same turn. Blast of Power is the only rung that is both ungated and playable in a Showdown.
- SCOPED AGAINST ITS TWIN: `blast-of-power-bloodless-conquer` is the one-card version of this argument and merged seven minutes earlier; it carries the full 466.5 / 466.5.e chain, the zero-excess-damage consequence and the 470 + 485.4 ceiling. What THIS entry adds is a job for OGN-219 Vanguard Sergeant, the pool’s only mono-Order card with no rules text - a refusal of him as “a body that reads no other card” was correctly re-scoped here, because a bloodless conquer reads no text at all.
Steps
- Garrison a battlefield of yours and keep Blast of Power in hand; the line is played on YOUR turn, into a battlefield the opponent holds with a small garrison.
- Move Vanguard Sergeant (and whatever else) in. 190.3.a.1 applies Contested and 464.2.c.1 makes you the Attacker; 323.9 stages the Combat and 323.13 opens it.
- In the Showdown, play Blast of Power (E6 + 1 Order Power) and kill the last defending unit. 806.1.b is the permission; 155 is why Vengeance could not have been held for this window.
- The Showdown closes. 465.1's damage tasks require both Attacking and Defending units to remain, and they do not, so no damage is assigned and nothing of yours dies.
- 466.3.a gives you the combat: you are the only player with units remaining. 466.5 establishes Control and 466.5.d makes it a Conquer.
- Any 'when you conquer' text on the bodies standing there fires (383.4.c.2.a puts a unit's Conquer ability on the Chain for the units present when control is gained), and 470 refuses a second Score at that battlefield this turn.
How it ends
engine only — one Conquer with no damage per Blast of Power, hard-capped at two Conquers a turn by 470 with 485.4; three copies a game (103.2.b) and the entry supplies the Conquer rather than the point

Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The content is the ladder's spine: 155 makes a plain spell your-turn-and-Open-State-only, so the CHEAPER and WIDER removal (OGN-229 Vengeance, four words and no gate) is the one that cannot take a battlefield, while the expensive narrow one can. Trap check: the attacker body is in uses[] rather than in a notable, because 466.3.a needs units remaining and the matcher and planner must price it; the excess-damage disjointness is stated so the line is not mistaken for a Tryndamere feeder; 470 with 485.4 is named as the hard cap so three copies are not read as three Conquers; the two banned members of the family are named; the other rungs of the ladder are priced with their gates.
