Brynhir Thundersong — one contestable window, then no cards from the opponent for the rest of your turn
Pieces
- Brynhir Thundersong ×1
OGN-026 · enabler · fury
When you play me, opponents can't play cards this turn.
Payoff
Deck
- Any legend whose domains include Fury. Brynhir is mono-Fury, so she fits every Fury pair.
Prerequisites
- It never covers your own Hold, and that is a phase-order fact, not an opinion: 315.1 Awaken, 315.2 Beginning Phase (the Hold is 315.2.b.2), 315.3 Channel, 315.4 Draw, then 316 Main Phase. Brynhir is a unit without [Reaction], so she is played after the Hold has already resolved. Every ALT_WIN and every Hold-scoring BURST of the catalogue is out of reach. RE-MEASURED 2026-09-13 FROM EACH ENTRY'S OWN `terminatesIn`, AND THE MEMBERS ARE NAMED RATHER THAN COUNTED, because the sentence this replaces said "the seven Hold BURSTs" with no as-of date and the class had grown: ahri-blue-sentinel-hold, blue-sentinel-trinity-force-hold, svellsongur-copy-hold, ivern-sentinel-hold, ivern-arena-sentinel-hold, nasus-ascended-sentinel-arena-hold, ahri-trinity-svellsongur-hold, shen-kinkou-svellsongur-hold, veteran-poro-weaponmaster-trinity-sentinel-hold, ivern-svellsongur-four-tags-hold, ivern-arena-trinity-body-order-hold — ELEVEN.
- What she DOES escort is the Conquer half of the catalogue, which happens in the Main Phase: ELEVEN BURSTs score on a Conquer, re-measured 2026-09-13 from each entry's own `terminatesIn` — the steps say "conquer" in Hold lines too, when the battlefield is taken or when Reckoner's Arena activates conquer effects, so the steps over-report and only `terminatesIn` is read: tryndamere-brambleback-conquer, brambleback-trinity-skyfall-conquer, dragonstorm-brambleback-trinity-conquer, skyfall-ahri-conquer, nasus-ascended-brambleback-conquer, reveler-loop-nasus-brambleback-conquer, swain-brambleback-conquer-burst, nasus-svellsongur-conquer-burst, swain-svellsongur-conquer-burst, ivern-brambleback-conquer-burst, tryndamere-svellsongur-excess-burst. Brynhir is MONO-FURY, so 103.1.b admits her in TEN of the eleven — nine already carry Fury among their card domains, `nasus-svellsongur-conquer-burst` is mono-Calm with a free slot, and `swain-svellsongur-conquer-burst` is Mind+Calm with none, so she is the one she cannot escort. The twenty-third BURST, `draven-svellsongur-bloodless-combat-burst`, scores on a combat resolution, which is also a Main Phase event and so is escortable in principle — but it is Chaos+Calm and she is out of domain there too. THE MEMBERS ARE NAMED ON PURPOSE: this sentence used to read "five of the twelve BURSTs" with no as-of date, and the class was 23 when it was re-read — a named set is refutable in one grep, a bare count rots again.
- One window survives, and it is her own. 312.2.c/d give the opponent priority while her trigger sits on the Chain, so a [Reaction] can answer Brynhir before the lock lands. Played FIRST, that is the whole exposure of the turn: they must spend their answer on a 6-Energy body instead of on the combo. One contestable window instead of one per chain item is the honest claim; 'the opponent cannot interact' is not.
- Four things leak through the word 'cards'. Activated abilities: 338.1.a enumerates 'Play a Card or Activated Ability' separately. [Deflect] payments: 356.2.a.2 makes that cost a Mandatory Additional Cost, not the playing of a card. Tokens: 350.2, 'Tokens are not cards, but can still be Played'. Hiding: 811.1.c.1, 'Hide is not a subset of Play' — the opponent may still hide a card, they simply cannot play the one already hidden. And 052 keeps runes, legends and battlefields out of the word, so channelling is untouched.
- 6 Energy out of the burst turn's budget. If the opponent held no [Reaction], that is 6 Energy for nothing — which is why the four Conquer BURSTs that carry no 'needs' are the ones worth escorting.
Steps
- In your Main Phase, before committing anything to the burst, play Brynhir for 6 Energy.
- Her trigger goes on the Chain and 312.2.c/d hand the opponent priority: this is their one window, and it is aimed at a 6-Energy body rather than at the combo.
- The trigger resolves. For the rest of the turn opponents play no cards — no [Reaction], no counter, no card from [Hidden].
- Run the Conquer burst inside the lock.
How it ends
engine only — one turn in which opponents play no cards after the lock resolves; it scores nothing by itself and does not reach your own Hold

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-this-turn-lens.md). SEPARATE ENTRY BY DECISION: jhin-virtuoso-ekko-malzahar-vi already names Brynhir in its prerequisites.notable, but putting her in that entry's uses[] would make the matcher demand a card the loop does not need to run, so the escort is its own ENGINE and the INFINITE was left untouched (no quantity of any existing entry changed). OVERTURNS ISSUE #100 §325, which orders this card 'documentada como refutada, no como candidata' on two grounds. Ground (a) — 'it never covers your Hold, and all the ALT_WINs and THE TWO Hold BURSTs resolve there' — is right about Holds and wrong about the census. RE-MEASURED 2026-09-13 AND THE MEMBERS ARE NAMED IN notable[0] AND notable[1] RATHER THAN COUNTED HERE: ELEVEN BURSTs score on a Hold and ELEVEN on a Conquer, with the twenty-third scoring on a combat resolution, all three kinds landing in the Main Phase where Brynhir does reach. This sentence previously read "of the twelve BURSTs, seven score on a Hold and FIVE score on a Conquer ... and all five carry Fury" with no as-of date, and the class was 23 when it was re-read; the Fury claim was wrong too, since 103.1.b admits her in TEN of the eleven. THE STALE COUNT SURVIVED THE NOTABLE REPAIR BECAUSE THAT REPAIR COVERED prerequisites.notable AND THIS IS notes - a repair must name the FIELDS it covered. Ground (b) — the opponent can answer her own trigger under 312.2.c/d — is correct as rules and is a limitation, not a refutation: it turns N contestable windows into one, taken before anything is committed. Both objections are written into the notables above so the denial-lens walk does not re-litigate them. produces is empty because the catalogue has no feature name for 'a turn the opponent cannot answer' and data/features.json was not this session's file; 49 entries already ship with an empty produces.
