Payoff
Deck
- ONE legend, not a domain list: OGN-268 Bullet Time is a Signature card tagged Miss Fortune, and 103.2.d.2 makes every Signature card carry the legend's champion tag. The only Miss Fortune legend in the pool is Bounty Hunter (OGN-267, and its second printing OGN-309), which is Body/Chaos — the domains happen to fit, but the tag is what decides it.
- Both Seals in play a turn early: each costs 0 Energy and 1 Power to put down, and pays 1 Power a turn thereafter.
Prerequisites
- RIOT NAMES THE CARD, AND THE TIMING IS THE POINT. 204.3.b: 'Costs within Instructions: These Costs are part of the resolution of a spell or ability… Example: Bullet Time is a spell that reads "Pay any amount of [A] to deal that much…"', and 740.4.a.1 says it plainly — 'For spells, costs within instructions are paid on resolution of the spell. In order to get the effect, the cost must be paid.' So you do not commit the Power when the spell goes on the Chain: the opponent responds first, and only then do you decide how much to spend. Nothing else in the pool lets you size a sweeper after seeing the answer.
- AND IT TARGETS NOTHING. 355.10.d makes an object 'programmatically selected based on its characteristics rather than chosen' a non-target, with the worked example '"Kill all units at a battlefield" targets a battlefield, but does not target any units'. The battlefield is chosen; the units are not. So [Deflect] never charges (809.1.c, 809.1.d) and 'can't be chosen by enemy spells and abilities' does not save a garrison from it.
- THE SEALS ARE THE SIZE OF THE SWEEP, AND THEY ARE FREE TO RUN. Each is 0 Energy and 1 Power to play, and its ability is '[Reaction] — [Add]' with only an exhaust in the cost, so each pays 1 Power every turn (415.3.a readies them) and pays it back on its second turn. Against the free floor of about 2 Power a turn — 164.2.b's exhaust-free recycle plus 315.3.b's channel — two Seals make four Power routine, so Bullet Time is a 4-damage sweep for 1 Energy. 143.2.a kills at Might, so that clears an entire garrison of 4-Might bodies. CORRECTED 2026-10-25 (#461): routine, but not 1 Energy and nothing else. The floor's two of the four Power are two recycled runes, which go to the bottom of the Rune Deck (416.1.b) while 430.1 channels from the top: recycled on any of T1 to T6 going first both are back on T7, and going second the first one recycled by T5 is back on T6 and the second on T7, with only the Channel Phase's two a turn; a card that channels more (430.2) brings them back sooner. Cast on T3 going first, the sweep leaves the board two runes short on each of T4, T5 and T6. Once the Rune Deck is empty it is 1 Energy and nothing else. The Seals' two are free as written, since their cost is their own exhaust. Status unchanged.
- 135.2.e.5.b is why the domain Power fits a rainbow cost: '[A] can be spent to pay a Power cost of any Domain', and a rainbow cost is one Power of any domain — so the Chaos Seal and the Body Seal both feed it, which is what makes the Body/Chaos identity pull its weight.
- IT IS UNCAPPED PER ACTIVATION, WHICH MEANS NO MULTIPLIER HELPS IT. 'Pay any amount' already does the whole job in one execution, so a second execution from any [Repeat] grant or copy effect adds nothing — the same shape as `SFD-117 Ancient Henge` and `SFD-083 Hextech Anomaly`. What scales it is Power, and only Power.
- 429.2 is why the Seals resolve cleanly in the middle of the Chain: an ability that Adds resolves as soon as it is finalized, before any other outstanding item — which is what the reminder text ('Abilities that add resources can't be reacted to') is telling you.
- THE RULES-LEVEL CLAIM IS TRUE AND NOT YET OPERABLE AT A TABLE (upgrade 2026-09-12, #191 batch 28; Tournament Rules, labelled). This entry sizes the sweep on RESOLUTION under 204.3.b and 740.4.a.1, after the answer is visible - and three Tournament Rules paragraphs decide whether you actually get that. **503.9.c**: *"When a player puts a spell or ability on the chain and announces choices for it that are normally made upon resolution, they must adhere to those choices unless their opponents react"* - so saying *"Bullet Time for four"* as it goes on the chain FORFEITS the whole point. Announce the spell and the battlefield and nothing else. **503.9.d**: *"When a player asks about choices normally made upon resolution, they are assumed to be passing priority"* - so the opponent`s natural question, how much are you paying, is itself a pass. And **503.8** stops you inferring their pass from silence. The rules-level sentence in this entry is correct; these three are what make it a line you can actually run.
Steps
- Run Bounty Hunter (OGN-267) as the legend — 103.2.d.2 leaves no choice once Bullet Time is in the list.
- Play Seal of Discord and Seal of Strength (0 Energy + 1 Power each) a turn ahead of when you need them.
- On the turn you want the sweep, exhaust both Seals for 1 Chaos and 1 Body Power (429.2), and take the free floor's Power on top (164.2.b, 315.3.b).
- Play Bullet Time for 1 Energy, choosing the battlefield (806.1.b puts [Action] in a Showdown too, so this can be their attack).
- Let the opponent respond. Only on resolution do you pay — 204.3.b, 740.4.a.1 — so choose the amount after seeing what they did.
- Deal that much to all enemy units at the battlefield; 355.10.d means none of them was targeted, and 143.2.a kills each one it reaches.
Per iteration
-1 card, -1 Energy, -N Power, N damage to every enemy unit at one battlefield
How it ends
engine — a sweep whose size is your available Power and whose amount is chosen after the opponent has responded; 1 Energy a cast, three casts a game (103.2.b). Nothing here scores.

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #173. OGN-204 Seal of Discord and OGN-163 Seal of Strength were in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.2.b, 103.2.d.2, 135.2.e.5.b, 143.2.a, 164.2.b, 204.3.b, 315.3.b, 355.10.d, 415.3.a, 429.2, 740.4.a.1, 806.1.b, 809.1.c, 809.1.d opened in the Core Rules file. All three cards legal in both formats. THE SIGNATURE CHECK WAS RUN BEFORE THE LEGEND LINE WAS WRITTEN and caught it: Bullet Time is tagged Miss Fortune and the pool has exactly one Miss Fortune legend, so the field is one legend and not the three Body/Chaos names a domain-shaped answer would have given.
