718.5.e and 718.5.f: an Equipment's Controller does not change when its CARRIER's does - so stealing an equipped body hands you the text and the Might while the opponent keeps a card they cannot use, and the Forge recovers yours if they steal first
Pieces
- Conscription ×3
UNL-140 · engine · chaos
You may spend 5 XP as an additional cost to play this. Choose an enemy unit at a battlefield with 3 Might or less. If you paid the additional cost, choose any enemy unit at a battlefield instead. Take control of it, exhaust it, and recall it.
- Forge of the Fluft ×1
SFD-208 · battlefield
While you control this battlefield, friendly legends have "Exhaust: Attach an Equipment you control to a unit you control."
Payoff
Deck
- Conscription is mono-Chaos and the Forge of the Fluft is Colorless, so 103.1.b needs only a legend carrying Chaos. Measured over data/cards.json on 2026-09-12 that is sixteen legend NAMES: Loose Cannon, Unforgiven, Swift Scout, Bounty Hunter, Dark Child - Starter, Glorious Executioner, Blade Dancer, Prodigal Explorer, Battle Mistress, Bloodharbor Ripper, Gloomist, Scorn of the Moon, Voidreaver, Master of Shadows, Soul's Reflection and Heart of the Tempest.
- Neither card is a Signature card (checked against data/cards.json) and neither appears in data/legality.json in any format - checked 2026-09-12.
- The Forge grants the ability to LEGENDS and only while you control that battlefield, so the recovery half needs you holding it. 485.4.a has each player provide three battlefields and 485.5 selects randomly; 103.4.c forbids a second copy of the name.
- The Equipment bonus on the offensive half is a RIDER, not a reason: it arrives only when the body you steal happens to be carrying one. Conscription is worth its cost for the body alone, and everything below is what you get on top.
Prerequisites
- THE RULE, IN TWO SENTENCES NOTHING IN THIS CATALOGUE HAS CITED. 718.5.e: 'Attached cards may have different Controllers from their Top-Most card.' 718.5.f: 'Changes in Control of the Top-Most card do not impact Control of Attached cards and vice versa.' And 718.5.g keeps the effect flowing regardless: 'An Attached card still appends the abilities in its Effect Text to the Rules Text of the Top-Most card and modulates the Top-Most Card's Might by its Might Bonus.' 718.5.e, 718.5.f and 718.5.g are cited zero times (measured 2026-09-12) while 718.2 is cited across the catalogue - this project has the Inactive half of attachment everywhere and has never had the Control half.
- THE OFFENSIVE HALF, AND IT IS A SENTENCE NO ENTRY IN THIS CATALOGUE CAN CURRENTLY STATE. Steal an equipped body and you get the BODY; 718.5.f leaves the Equipment's Control with the opponent; 718.5.g still appends its Effect Text to the unit you now control and still modulates its Might. So you receive the whole benefit of a card you do not own, and they retain a card they cannot use - 718.2 makes its printed Rules Text, [Equip] included, Inactive while attached, so only an ATTACH effect can move it, and the pool has four (a [Weaponmaster] body, SFD-024 Rell Magnetic, SFD-049 Aphelios' trigger, and this same Forge). 718.5.c and 719.3.a then carry the Equipment with the body: 'A Top-Most Card and all cards Attached to it are at the same location', so after Conscription's recall their card is sitting at YOUR base, attached to YOUR unit, controlled by THEM.
- AND 457.1 IS HOW THEY GET IT BACK, WITH RIOT'S OWN WORKED EXAMPLE. 'When an un-attached non-Unit Gear is created or played at a battlefield, or is at a battlefield for any other reason, it is Recalled to its controller's base during the next Cleanup. Example: An Equipment is attached to a unit at a battlefield, so the Equipment is present at that battlefield. If the unit dies, the Equipment will be recalled during the next cleanup.' With 719.5 ('When a Top-Most Card changes zones from a board zone to a non-board zone, all Attached cards Detach from it') that means the loan ends when the stolen body dies - and it goes home to THEM, not to you. So do not trade the stolen body away cheaply if the Equipment is the better half of the theft.
- THE DEFENSIVE HALF IS THE SAME RULE READ BACKWARDS, AND IT IS WHY THE FORGE IS IN uses[]. If THEY steal your equipped body, 718.5.f leaves the Equipment's Control with YOU. 718.5.b - 'Attached cards still can be chosen or targeted by game effects while Attached' - lets the Forge's granted ability choose it even though it is attached to a unit you no longer control, because the Forge asks for 'an Equipment you CONTROL' and not one you are carrying. 434.1.f then detaches it from their new body as it attaches to yours. One legend exhaust, no Energy, no Power: you take the Might Bonus and the Effect Text back and leave them a bare body.
- 718.2 IS WHY THE FORGE AND NOT THE [Equip] COST. An attached Equipment's own [Equip] is printed Rules Text and is Inactive (718.2, 721.2), so you cannot pay it to move the card off a carrier you do not control - the one-way door this project recorded in 2026-09-07. The Forge is not paying that cost; it is a separate ATTACH effect, which 434.1.f and 434.4 make a free relocation across the board. [Weaponmaster] cannot substitute, because 821.1.c attaches 'to me' and the body doing the equipping must be one you control anyway.
- THE PRICE OF THE OFFENSIVE HALF IS PRINTED AND IT IS STEEP. Conscription is E5 + 2 Chaos Power, and the Might restriction is lifted only by spending 5 XP as an additional cost - which 824.1.d and 730.2 then switch off every [Level N] rung you were standing on. This is a SINK line, not a [Level] line. Without the XP it reaches only a body of 3 Might or less, and a 3-Might body is rarely the one carrying their best Equipment.
- ONE THING THIS ENTRY DOES NOT CLAIM. 185 keeps a TOKEN out of all of this - a Gold gear token attached to nothing is not an Equipment and 187.5 gives it no Effect Text - and 137.3.b makes a Might Bonus on a carrier with no Might value ignored, which no Equipment in this pool can reach anyway since 818.1.b attaches to a unit.
Bodies no card supplies
Have SFD-208 Forge of the Fluft on the table and control it; its grant is conditional on that and it grants to LEGENDS
Steps
- Have SFD-208 Forge of the Fluft on the table and control it; its grant is conditional on that and it grants to LEGENDS.
- OFFENSIVE HALF. Play UNL-140 Conscription for 5 Energy and 2 Chaos Power, spending 5 XP as the additional cost if you want a body above Might 3.
- Take control of the chosen enemy unit, exhaust it, and recall it. 718.5.c and 719.3.a carry any Equipment attached to it along, so their card arrives at your base on your body.
- 718.5.f leaves that Equipment's Control with THEM and 718.5.g still appends its Effect Text and Might Bonus to the body you now control. You have the effect; they have a card whose own [Equip] is Inactive (718.2) and which only an attach effect can move.
- Expect to lose the loan if the body dies: 719.5 detaches and 457.1 recalls the gear to ITS CONTROLLER'S base - theirs, with Riot's worked example spelling out exactly this case.
- DEFENSIVE HALF. If instead they steal a body of yours that carries YOUR Equipment, 718.5.f leaves that Equipment under your Control.
- Exhaust your legend for the Forge's granted ability and choose that Equipment - 718.5.b permits choosing an attached card - then attach it to a unit you control.
- 434.1.f detaches it from their stolen body in the same action. You have the Might Bonus and the Effect Text back, for one legend exhaust and nothing else; 415.3.a returns the exhaust at your next Awakening.
- Three Conscription (103.2.b), one Forge per game (103.4.c). Nothing here loops and nothing here scores.
Per iteration
one enemy body taken with its Equipment's Effect Text and Might Bonus riding along on a card the opponent still owns - or, on defence, your own Equipment pulled back off a stolen carrier for one legend exhaust
How it ends
engine only - nothing here scores. The offensive loan ends when the stolen body leaves the board (719.5, 457.1) and the gear goes home to its controller; the Forge's recovery is once per turn, capped by your legend's own exhaust (415.3.a)
