Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Play any other card first. 812.1.c needs it only FINALIZED, so even a countered spell arms every Legion you control that turn (812.2). CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): Darius can be that card. 812.1.c: 'As long as a card different than the one with the Legion ability has been Finalized by you on the same turn then the Dependent Ability is Active on the card with Legion.' Darius is a card different from the Captain, so Darius played first, from the Champion Zone, turns on the Captain's Legion, and OGN-253 Hand of Noxus's too, whose reminder asks only that 'you've played a card this turn'. His own Legion is then off and he stays exhausted (359.2.c: 'If it is a Unit, it enters the Board exhausted at the Location that was chosen.'), and his aura is on anyway (step 4). Walked going first under Hand of Noxus, the order Darius, legend, Captain completed the board on T4 for eight runes, two of them recycled, and the legend's one Energy. The order this step gives needs a third card in front of both: with OGN-245 Seal of Unity (Order gear, E0 P1, ':rb_exhaust:: [Reaction] — [Add] :rb_rune_order:. (Abilities that add resources can't be reacted to.)') it also fits on T4, for the same eight runes and two recycled plus the Seal itself; with the walked list's cheapest other card, an E2, it is T5.
  2. Play Vanguard Captain to a battlefield you control (3 Energy + 1 Order Power). Its Legion half is now Active and plays two 1-Might Recruit unit tokens there.
  3. Play Darius, Executioner to the same battlefield (6 Energy + 1 Order Power). His Legion half readies him - effectively [Accelerate] for the turn. CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): the ready is not [Accelerate] here. A ready unit spends it on a Standard Move, and 144.4.b reads 'Units may move from a Battlefield to their Base.': played to the battlefield he guards, Darius can use the ready only to walk home, off the Recruits. It buys an attack only if he is played to your base and walks into theirs (144.4.a: 'Units may move from their Base to a Battlefield.'), and then his aura, which reads 'here', goes with him, away from the Recruits. When Darius is the other card (step 1) there is no ready at all, and the line loses nothing by it.
  4. 812.1.b ends the Legion Ability at that period. The second sentence, 'Other friendly units have +1 :rb_might: here', is a separate clause and applies regardless: the two Recruits are 2 Might and every other friendly body there is +1.
  5. On any later turn the aura still applies with no card played, because it was never Legion-gated - which is what takes the garrison out of range of a 1-damage sweeper such as OGN-133 Flurry of Blades (143.2.a needs marked damage equal to Might). CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): true of the sweeper alone, and only while Darius stays there. 'here' is wherever Darius is, so the floor lasts as long as he is at that battlefield, not as long as he lives. OGN-043 Charm (Calm, E1 P1, 'Move an enemy unit.') takes him off: 355.4.a lets a Move effect choose any location other than the current one where the unit may be, and 449.1 reads 'The source of the Move will provide details on any restrictions on legality for Destination.', and Charm states none. OGN-133 Flurry of Blades ('[Reaction] (Play any time, even before spells and abilities resolve.) Deal 1 to all units at battlefields.') then kills every Recruit there, which is two runes and two cards. Moved into their battlefield, Darius contests it (450) and dies in that combat too; the walk's did, as a 6 against 19. What the aura does guarantee is that the exposure is a turn boundary. Inside your own turn the opponent never holds Priority while a Recruit at that battlefield is a 1: 312.2.a gives it to the player whose Main Phase is in a Neutral Open State, a played unit does not wait on the Chain (359.2: 'A Permanent leaves the Chain and becomes a Game Object.'), and 446.3.c reads 'Moving does not use the Chain, nor is it able to be Reacted to.' The Captain's trigger does give them Priority (312.2.d), but before its Recruits exist. A Captain played a turn before Darius leaves its two Recruits as 1s across their turn, and in the walk's control one Flurry killed both for one rune.

Per iteration

two Recruit tokens per Vanguard Captain, all of them and every other body at the battlefield standing one Might above a one-damage sweeper for as long as Darius lives CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): for as long as Darius is at that battlefield, not as long as he lives (see step 5).

How it ends

engine - two 2-Might Recruits per Captain and a permanent +1 to every other friendly body at that battlefield, for one enabling card and two plays; nothing here scores CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): the +1 covers every other friendly unit at that battlefield, so Recruits from other cards are 2s there too: OGN-211 Faithful Manufactor and OGN-222 Noxian Drummer play theirs 'here', and OGN-212 Forge of the Future's, born at your base, walks in. In the walk five Recruits stood at the battlefield after T4, two from the Captain and one each from the Forge, the Manufactor and the Drummer, and the score was 3 to 3 after their T4.

812.1.a, 812.1.b.2 and 812.3 were cited by nothing and 812.1.b by two entries before this one, none of which drew the clause boundary. The entry carries a correction to this project's own notes: Soul Shepherd is not the only permanent Might floor in the pool, only the only board-wide token-scoped one, and the seven-member sweep is written into the notable with its date so the next reader refutes it in one grep. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. No unruled reading. REVISED 2026-10-24 (#457, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-24-darius-goes-down-first-the-captains-recruits-are-born-twos-and-charm-with-flurry-still-takes-them-for-two-runes.md): its Leads applied as dated notes on steps 1, 3 and 5, terminatesIn and netPerIteration, plus an ADDED notable naming the answers. Re-checked against data/corpus_flat.txt and the 2026-07-16 Core Rules (812.1.c, 359.2, 359.2.c, 144.4.a, 144.4.b, 355.4.a, 449.1, 450, 312.2.a, 312.2.d, 446.3.c, 143.2.a). Each correction narrows a claim, none removes what the entry catalogues (the clause boundary and the floor), so it stays verified. No unruled reading.
