Dazzling Aurora flips Elder Dragon — a free 10-Might body and one kill per location
Pieces
- Dazzling Aurora ×1
OGN-160 · engine · body
At the end of your turn, reveal cards from the top of your Main Deck until you reveal a unit and banish it. Play it, ignoring its cost, and recycle the rest.
- Elder Dragon ×1
UNL-118 · payoff · body
Any amount of your damage is enough to kill enemy units. When you play me, choose up to one enemy unit at each location. Deal 1 to them.
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains cover Body (both cards are Body).
Prerequisites
- Aurora fires every end of turn while it survives: a free unit each turn, and whenever the revealed unit is Elder Dragon, one enemy unit dies at every location. Deck-building lever: the fewer non-Dragon units in the deck, the more often the flip is a Dragon.
- Elder Dragon's trigger is on play, so it repeats only if he returns to the deck; the engine's steady output is the free unit, the wipe is the jackpot.
- Elder Dragon chooses his targets, so Deflect costs a rainbow Power to get through. Payable: Aurora fires in the Ending Step (317.1, "At the end of the turn Game Effects take place") and the Rune Pool only empties two steps later at 317.2.d, and 164.2.b's Power ability is "Recycle this" with no exhaust in its cost, so ANY rune still on the board pays it - it need not be ready. CORRECTED 2026-09-04: the entry used to say the reveal can Burn Out if the deck runs out of units, citing 431.1.c. That rule says the opposite - you reveal as many as possible and DO NOT Burn Out - and 431.1.c.1 adds that further instructions are then simply ignored, "even if those instructions would cause those cards to change zones". Thinning the deck to raise the Dragon hit rate costs nothing.
- THE STATIC HALF IS A DIFFERENT CARD'S JOB, and it is now catalogued separately. 'One kill per location, not a board wipe' above is about the ON-PLAY trigger and it stands. Elder Dragon's other sentence - 'Any amount of your damage is enough to kill enemy units' - turns any mass damage of yours into a wipe, and OGN-133 Flurry of Blades (Body, 1 Energy, [Reaction], 'Deal 1 to all units at battlefields') is the card in the pool and in domain that supplies it. See elder-dragon-flurry-of-blades-wipe.
- 424.1.a.2 is the MECHANISM under the 431.1.c protection this entry already cites, and the entry carries the consequence without it: "Cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from." Riot's own example is that a card Revealed from the top of the Main Deck "is still the top card of that player's Main Deck." So revealing can never Burn Out because NOTHING LEAVES THE DECK, which 424.1.a states as the general fact: "Revealed is a temporary state and is not a zone." Same shape this file records for 355.7 against 355.10.d and 811.6 against the tail of 811.1.b.
Steps
- Resolve Aurora at the end of your turn: reveal until a unit, banish it, play it for free, recycle the rest.
- If it is Elder Dragon: deal 1 to up to one enemy unit at each location and, because any amount of his damage kills, each chosen unit dies — at most three in a 1v1 (two battlefields plus the enemy base, 198.1 / 485.4), one per location, not a sweep.
- Next turn, Aurora fires again: Direwing (enters ready with another Dragon) or Gentle Gemdragon (readies 2 runes per Dragon played) keep the pressure up.
How it ends
engine only — a free unit every end of turn; when it hits Elder Dragon, one enemy unit dies at each location, up to three in a 1v1

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
First entry sourced from the Chinese meta, where the game launched in 2025-08. The article's complaint is about play pattern, not legality: "players feel facing this deck isn't fun and lacks interactivity"; it also names Aurora Volibear and Aurora Miss Fortune as the archetype's shells (Volibear's legend Relentless Storm is Fury/Body; Miss Fortune, Captain readies something on her first move). Card text verified against the corpus. REFUTE 2 (2026-09-03): WOUNDED — "board wipe" was wrong: one kill per location, three at most in a 1v1. The free 12E+4P body every end of turn is the real engine. HAND-WALKED 2026-09-04 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-04-aurora-reksai-platewyrm.md), which removed a wrong Burn Out citation and an over-restriction on paying Deflect. 198.1 ("Locations include the Battlefields and the Bases") with 485.4 confirms at most three kills in a Duel. Depends on no unruled reading. CROSS-REFERENCED 2026-09-06 (issue #46): the on-play correction above is unchanged; the static's wipe with Flurry of Blades is a separate entry, elder-dragon-flurry-of-blades-wipe.
