Deck
- All cards are mono-Body, so 103.1.b.3 admits any legend with Body in its pair: SFD-203/SFD-250 Battle Mistress, OGN-257/OGN-304 Blind Monk, OGN-267/OGN-309 Bounty Hunter, VEN-141/VEN-190 Butcher of the Sands, VEN-149/VEN-194 Defender of Tomorrow, SFD-205/SFD-251 Grand Duelist, SFD-193/SFD-245 Grandmaster at Arms, UNL-203/UNL-237 Keeper of the Hammer, VEN-153/VEN-196 Matriarch of War, OGS-023 Might of Demacia - Starter, UNL-183/UNL-227 Pridestalker, SFD-183/SFD-241 Purifier, OGN-249/OGN-300 Relentless Storm, OGN-269/OGN-310 The Boss, UNL-201/UNL-236 Voidreaver, OGS-019 Wuju Bladesman - Starter, UNL-191/UNL-231 Wuju Master.
- Neither card is banned or restricted in either format, and neither is a Signature card.
- An OCCUPIED enemy battlefield. The Predator's permission names one, and 323.9 stages no Combat without opposing units - against an empty battlefield he is an 8 Might body that walked in and nothing else.
Prerequisites
- THE ATTACKER DESIGNATION WITHOUT A MOVE, IN THREE PARAGRAPHS. 355.2.b: 'Some Game Effects may grant players permission to play Units to locations that are not normally Valid. Such locations become Valid for the purposes of Playing the Unit.' 190.3.a.1: 'Units moving to or being played to a battlefield apply Contested status if that battlefield is not already Contested and that Unit's controller does not already control that battlefield.' 464.2.c.1: 'The Attacker is the player whose unit(s) applied the Contested status.' So the Predator attacks on the turn he is played, and 144.2's exhaust - which is the Standard Move's cost and only that - never comes up, which is also why 143.4 ('Units enter the Board exhausted') costs him nothing.
- THE PUMP IS BOUGHT WITH INFORMATION. 806.1.c.1 gives an [Action] card 'This can be played during showdowns on any player's turn', and 464.2.f.1 / 464.2.g leave the window open inside a combat that has already opened. 465.2.c fixes each side's summed Might at assignment, so Primal Strength's +7 is spent only once you know what the garrison is: an 8 Might body becomes 15, or the spell is kept.
- WHAT THE EXTRA MIGHT ACTUALLY BUYS, AND WHAT IT DOES NOT. 465.2.c.4 caps assignment at 'the minimum required to constitute lethal damage', so Might beyond the garrison's total lethal is excess damage (R28 = A) - real, but with no payoff in this domain: OGN-034 Tryndamere is Fury, UNL-187 Piltover Enforcer is Fury/Order, and only UNL-217 Trapping Grounds (Colorless, 3 or more excess for a Bird) is reachable, and 485.5 selects one of your three battlefields at random. Price the +7 as a way to WIN the combat, not as a feeder.
- [DEFLECT] IS WHY THE ANSWER IS EXPENSIVE, AND WHERE IT LEAKS. 809.1.c prices it as extra Power 'for each time they choose' and 809.1.c.1 lets that Power be any Domain, so removing him before the damage step costs a rainbow on top. 355.10.d is the leak - an object 'programmatically selected based on its characteristics rather than chosen' is not a target and pays nothing, so a sweeper goes straight through.
- THE SECOND CARD IN THE POOL THAT DOES THIS, NAMED. SFD-093 Dauntless Vanguard ('You may play me to an occupied enemy battlefield') is the catalogued one - dauntless-vanguard-long-sword-surprise-attack and dauntless-vanguard-repair-specialist-gear-assault - and VEN-157 Dragon Roost grants the same permission to every Dragon for 2 rainbow Power. The Predator is the big-body version: 8 printed Might and [Deflect], where the Vanguard is a cheap body that arrives with a trick.
- THE LEDGER. 8 Energy + 2 Power for the body, 4 Energy + 1 Power for the pump: 12 Energy + 3 Power for a 15 Might attacker on the turn it is played. Three of each by 103.2.b.
- WHAT IT IS NOT. Nothing here scores directly - winning the combat gives Control through 466.5 and 466.5.d makes THAT a Conquer, so the point comes from the battlefield and not from either card.
Steps
- Play Deadbloom Predator (8 Energy + 2 Power) directly to an occupied enemy battlefield, using the permission 355.2.b describes.
- 190.3.a.1 applies Contested from the play itself, and 464.2.c.1 makes you the Attacker. 323.9 stages the Combat because opposing units are present; 464.2.c.3 designates.
- Read the garrison. 465.2.c fixes their summed Might, and 465.2.c.3 forces lethal onto one body at a time.
- If the 8 is not enough, play Primal Strength (4 Energy + 1 Power) inside the combat under its [Action] permission (806.1.c.1, 464.2.f.1, 464.2.g): the Predator is 15 for the turn.
- If you win, 466.5 establishes Control and 466.5.d makes it a Conquer - the point comes from the battlefield.
- Do not run this at an empty battlefield: 323.9 stages no Combat, so there is no Attacker designation and nothing to pump.
Per iteration
one 8 Might attacker deployed with no move, optionally pumped to 15 after the garrison is known
How it ends
engine only - three Predators and three Primal Strengths by 103.2.b, and the excess damage the +7 generates has no payoff in this domain; nothing here scores, the Conquer comes from the battlefield

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #186, batch 2). The first entry to use OGN-161 Deadbloom Predator or OGN-154 Primal Strength. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and quoted: 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 143.4, 144.2, 190.3.a.1, 323.9, 355.2.b, 355.10.d, 464.2.c.1, 464.2.c.3, 464.2.f.1, 464.2.g, 465.2.c, 465.2.c.3, 465.2.c.4, 466.5, 466.5.d, 485.5, 806.1.c.1, 809.1.c, 809.1.c.1. The excess-damage half is stated as a NON-payoff on purpose: the domain has no card that reads it, and pricing a +7 as a feeder is the arithmetic error this project has recorded twice. Distinct from the two Dauntless Vanguard entries, which use the cheap body and a trick; this is the big-body version and each names the other. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted; neither is a Signature card. No unruled reading.
