Payoff
Deck
- VEN-142 Dominus is a SIGNATURE card tagged Renekton, so 103.2.d.2 forces a Renekton legend that also covers fury + body: VEN-141 Butcher of the Sands — the only one. Domain-legal legends without the Renekton tag cannot run the list. (Rebuilt from the census by test/legend-lines.test.ts, 2026-09-07; an earlier line named legends that cannot hold a Renekton Signature card.)
Prerequisites
- THE OBVIOUS ROUTE IS ILLEGAL AND HAS TO BE SAID FIRST. An uncapped ready pointed at SFD-088 Renata Glasc, Mastermind ('4 Energy + 4 Mind Power, exhaust: Score 1 point') would be unbounded points. It cannot be built: Dominus is Fury/Body and Renata is Mind, so the deck would need Fury + Body + Mind and 103.1.b.4 permits a card only in an identity containing all of its domains, while a legend has exactly two. There is no legal list.
- XERATH IS THE BEST LEGAL SINK, MEASURED RATHER THAN ASSUMED. Crossing '| Unit | Fury |' and '| Unit | Body |' with an exhaust-cost activated ability returns exactly four cards in the pool: UNL-001 Arena Kingpin (+3 Might, which does not score), UNL-018 Yeti Brawler (the exhaust is on the Gold token, not on him), UNL-026 Xerath, Freed, and UNL-093 Dragonsoul Sage. Xerath is the only one that converts the ready into something that wins.
- THE PRICE, WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. First shot: 1 Fury Power. Every shot after: 2 rainbow Power for the ready plus 1 Fury Power, so 3 Power for 3 damage. Shots = 1 + floor((P - 1) / 3) for P Power available in the turn. At the free floor of 2 Power a turn (164.2.b, 161.2.b, 315.3.b / 430.4.a) that is ONE shot: without a Power engine this card does nothing. With the Henge converting X Energy at one for one, P = 2 + X; X = 12 gives P = 14 and five shots, 15 damage spread across separate targets in one turn.
- IT IS A TURN, NOT A LOOP, AND THAT IS THE CLASS. Dominus says 'This turn'. The engine costs a fresh 4 Energy card every time you want it, so it is a big removal turn, not recursion. ENGINE, and terminatesIn says so.
- DOMINUS + UNL-093 DRAGONSOUL SAGE IS NOT INFINITE, walked because it is the obvious trap. The Sage is '[Reaction][>] exhaust: [Add] 1 Energy'; the ready costs 2 Power and the Henge turns 1 Energy into 1 Power, so each cycle loses a net Power — and the Henge exhausts, so it converts only once a turn anyway. It dies on arithmetic, not on a rule.
- 167 does not bite: the Rune Pool empties at the START of the Main Phase and at end of turn, and every payment here happens inside the Main Phase (145.2 opens the granted ability there, in an Open State, and not during a Showdown).
- SFD-117 Ancient Henge is already in the catalogue as part of gemdragon-henge-vi-blind-fury. This entry shares it; it does not introduce it.
- Xerath can be killed in response to Dominus and both cards are gone. The ability rides on him, not on you.
Steps
- Xerath, Freed at a battlefield (377.2.b: his own text makes that a condition of the ability), Ancient Henge on the board.
- In your Main Phase, activate the Henge: exhaust, pay X Energy, [Add] X rainbow Power (429.1). With the turn's free 2 Power that is P = 2 + X.
- Play Dominus on Xerath (4 Energy): his Might doubles to 10 and he gains '2 rainbow Power: Ready me.'
- Fury Power + exhaust: deal 3 to a unit.
- Pay 2 rainbow Power to ready him (415.1: he must be exhausted for it to do anything, so the order is always fire, then ready), and fire again for another Fury Power.
- Repeat while the Power lasts: 1 + floor((P - 1) / 3) shots, three damage each, at separate targets. At end of turn the granted ability expires with 'This turn' and 167 empties the pool.
Per iteration
3 damage per 3 Power after the first shot, at separate targets, inside one turn
How it ends
engine — a one-turn removal burst of 1 + floor((P - 1) / 3) shots; it ends with the turn, because Dominus says 'This turn'

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-ready-lens-candidates.md), issue #56 candidate 3, from its hallazgo D. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 377, 377.2.b, 145.2, 415.1/415.1.b, 135.2.e.5.a/b, 429.1, 167, 103.1.b.4 and 820.1.c.3 all opened and read. Ban check: none of VEN-142, UNL-026, SFD-117 carries a [BANNED marker. The structural claim — that this is the pool's ONLY ready with neither an exhaust in its cost nor a per-turn cap — was checked card by card against the sixteen readies of another object plus the ones already catalogued, and the table is in the walk (OGN-152, VEN-149, VEN-153, SFD-195, UNL-109 carry an exhaust; VEN-125, OGN-162, VEN-068 carry a 'once/first time each turn'; UNL-009 Upstage Comedy is capped by 820.1.c.3, the #32 finding; SFD-180 rides a trigger that fires once per body). Trap check: no attack; no [Repeat] resurrected (820.1.c.3 stays); no [Temporary]; no recall; no rune recycled for Power; all payments are Main Phase so 167 does not bite. Depends on no unruled reading.
