Combo · ENGINE
[Predict 2] then Draw 1 is a certainty, and [Flow] is what makes the draw available twice
Pieces
- Dramatic Visionary ×3
UNL-062 · engine · mind
[Deathknell][>] [Predict 2]. (When I die, look at the top two cards of your Main Deck. Recycle any of them and put the rest back in any order.)
- Dredge Up ×3
VEN-049 · payoff · mind
Draw 1. [Flow] 2 Energy (You may play this from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.)
Payoff
Deck
- Both cards are mono-Mind, so 103.1.b.3 admits any legend with Mind in its pair.
- Neither card is banned or restricted in either format, and neither is a Signature card.
- The Visionary has to DIE for its Predict, so do not shield it - 808.1.d.1 removes the trigger from the chain if it never reaches the Trash.
Prerequisites
- 436.1.a: 'When more than one card is Predicted, the Predicting player looks at that many cards and Recycles any number of them before putting the rest back on top of their Main Deck in any order.' So after a [Predict 2] you know and control the top two, and a Draw 1 is exact rather than random. The general form recorded in this walk is that any look at M cards is certain behind a [Predict N] with N >= M; clairvoyance-fate-weaver-predict-setup is the five-card version and reinforce-tasty-faefolk-cheat-into-play is the other, and this is the cheap one.
- AND THE ARRANGEMENT COMES FROM A BODY THAT WAS TRADING ANYWAY. 808.1.c makes a Deathknell 'functionally short for "When I die, [Effect]"', so the Visionary's Predict is free in the sense that matters: it is paid for by a 4 Might body doing its job. 808.1.d.1 is the anti-synergy and it is easy to build by accident - a heal/exhaust/recall shield saves the body and the Predict never happens.
- [FLOW] HERE IS FLAT, WHICH IS UNUSUAL. 829.1.b: 'You may play this from your trash for its flow cost. Then banish it', with 829.1.b.1 making that banish a delayed replacement and 108.6.c keeping it gone. Dredge Up's Flow cost is 2 Energy - the SAME as its printed cost - so each copy is genuinely two cards for four Energy across two turns, and three copies are SIX draws. Most Flow costs in the pool are a premium; this one is not.
- NOTHING HERE CAN BURN YOU OUT ON THE LOOK. 431.1.c keeps looking and revealing free of Burn Out and 436.4.a says it outright for this action: 'The Player will not perform a Burn Out as a result of Predicting with too few cards in their deck.' The Draw 1 is the only risk (431.1.a), and only with an empty deck.
- THE RECYCLE HALF IS AS USEFUL AS THE DRAW HALF. 416.1 with 416.1.a put a recycled card on the BOTTOM of the deck, so the Predict's real work on a bad top two is removing them - a Draw 1 afterwards then finds the third card, which you have not seen. Read the pair as 'draw the better of two, or dig past both', not only as a tutor.
- WHAT IT IS NOT. Nothing here scores; 469 defines Scoring as Conquer or Hold. And the certainty is only as good as what is in the top two - the Predict arranges, it never creates.
Steps
- Play Dramatic Visionary (4 Energy) and let it trade in combat.
- Its Deathknell fires: look at the top two, recycle what you do not want to the bottom (416.1.a), and order what remains (436.1.a).
- Play Dredge Up (2 Energy) and draw the card you left on top - exact, not random.
- Later, replay Dredge Up from the trash for its [Flow] cost of 2 Energy and draw again; 829.1.b banishes it afterwards.
- Do not protect the Visionary: 808.1.d.1 removes the Deathknell from the chain if it never reaches the Trash.
Per iteration
one chosen card per Deathknell-plus-draw, and six draws a game from three Dredge Ups
How it ends
engine only - six Dredge Up plays by 103.2.b with [Flow] and three Visionary deaths; nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #188). The first entry to use UNL-062 Dramatic Visionary or VEN-049 Dredge Up. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and quoted: 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 108.6.c, 416.1, 416.1.a, 431.1.a, 431.1.c, 436.1.a, 436.4.a, 469, 808.1.c, 808.1.d.1, 829.1.b, 829.1.b.1. It is the cheapest instance of this walk's Predict-then-look rule and names the other two. The flat [Flow] cost is stated because most of the keyword's costs in the pool are a premium and this one is not. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted; neither is a Signature card. No unruled reading.
