Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Get Control of Marai Spire (190.1): move a unit there and establish Control, the same work as a Conquer. Until then the discount does nothing (190.6.d).
  2. Play Ezreal, Prodigy (E3 P1). His own play effect is 'discard 1, then draw 2', so he replaces himself.
  3. Play any of the fourteen [Repeat] spells and choose to pay the additional cost in step 2 of playing (356.2.b.1). The additional cost is added, then component discounts apply (356.4.c): Marai Spire takes the Energy, Ezreal takes whichever component is left.
  4. The cost reaches 0. 356.4.f allows that, and 356.4.f.1 keeps it 'paid' because the decision to pay it was made, so 820.1.d.1 executes the spell's instructions a second time on resolution.

Per iteration

one extra execution of a [Repeat] spell per spell played, at zero additional cost

How it ends

engine only — every E2 [Repeat] spell in the deck (and Bellows Breath's Energy+Power one) executes twice for its printed base cost, for as long as you hold Marai Spire; 820.1.c.3 caps it at one extra execution each, so it never loops

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-05 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-05-repeat-accelerate-add-candidates.md), issue #32. All card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; every rule opened in data/Riftbound-Core-Rules-2026-07-16.txt. The strongest citation in the catalogue: rule 356.4.c's own worked example is 'Ezreal, Prodigy reads "optional additional costs you pay cost [1] or [A] less." When playing a Frigid Touch and choosing to pay the additional cost in step 2, as soon as the additional cost is added to the cost of the spell, Ezreal, Prodigy's discount is applied to it.' Riot ruled this exact interaction. TWO REWRITES against the #32 candidate: (1) the Marai Spire discount needs CONTROL of the battlefield (190.1, 190.6.d) — neither rule had ever been cited in this project and the issue asserted the discount as passive from turn one; (2) the issue closed the entry by having one doubled Bellows Breath satisfy Prodigal Explorer's 'chosen enemy units twice', which is an unruled reading, so the entry stands on two different spells instead and no reading is filed. One correction: fourteen free spells, not the eleven the issue counts. Trap check: the [Repeat] family cannot loop (820.1.c.3); no attack trigger so 383.4.e/461 cannot bite; every payment is a Main Phase spell cost so 167 does not bite; no [Temporary], no recall, no rune recycled for Power; exactly one battlefield, so 485.4.a is respected. Added 2026-09-05 after the project registered 485.5/486.5: a Duel selects your one battlefield AT RANDOM, so the Marai Spire half of this line comes online 1 game in 3 there and by choice in 1v1 Match play (486.5). That is a consistency question, not a correctness one — issue #35 — and the entry states it rather than assuming the Spire.
