Prerequisites
- Fae Dragon is 7E+1P and buffs up to four units; each Wallop spends one buff, so one Dragon fuels four Wallops but a deck holds only three. Lux, Crownguard's Energy is spell-locked ("Use only to play spells"), so the loop pays for more spells, not for units. Overt Operation (OGN-153, 5E+2P) spends every buff at once and re-buffs all friendly units with no cap. CORRECTED 2026-09-04 (hunt L8, B3): it is not "a net loss as a Gold converter". With K buffed friendly units one resolution gives K readies + K Fae Dragon triggers (K Golds, entering READY under Renata by R25) + a re-buff of every friendly unit, against a cost of 2 Power. It breaks even at K=2 and is Power-positive from K=3 (K=3 -> +1, K=5 -> +3). The old wording is only true at K=1, and it was steering the deck away from the card that best exploits the engine. Ordering caveat: the Golds arrive AFTER the spell is paid, so the 2 Power must be up front and the surplus is only usable later in the same Main Phase.
- R25 ruled A (2026-09-04): Renata's "Your tokens enter ready" beats the token-maker's "play a Gold gear token exhausted", so each Gold is Power the turn it appears. 369.3/370.1.c let Renata rewrite how a token enters, and rule 375 only makes a replacement inherit modifications it is itself silent about — its own example is a replacement that duplicates the token and says nothing about ready or exhausted. The Eye of the Herald Recruits were never in doubt: units default to exhausted (143.4) and Renata overrides the default.
- 745.2 IS WHY AN UNQUALIFIED "SPEND A BUFF" CAN ONLY TAKE ONE OFF YOUR OWN BOARD, AND THE 741-749 BLOCK WAS CITED BY NOTHING (upgrade 2026-09-12, #191 batch 26 - diagnosed five days earlier by #187 batch 2 and never applied). The cards that print this cost say *"spend a buff"* with NO owner stated, and none of them has ever had to, because the rules say it: **745.2** - *"In order to spend a Counter, the spending player must control the Game Object the Counter is placed on."* It is the general form of the 702.2.b.2 this project cites fourteen times, and its neighbours finish the picture: **749** (*"Counters do not have a controller"*) and **748** (*"Game Objects that change zones to a non-board zone lose all of their Counters"*), which is the real rule behind buff recovery rather than the 702.x usually cited. Measured consequence from the same walk: a change of CONTROL is not a zone change, so **a buff survives a theft and becomes the thief`s to spend** - the exact complement of 718.5.f, under which an Equipment`s Control does NOT follow its carrier while a buff`s spendability DOES.
Steps
- Fae Dragon enters: buff Lux and three others.
- Wallop, spending Lux's buff (free): ready Lux. Fae Dragon: a Gold enters ready (+1 rainbow). Lux: +2E for spells.
- Overt Operation with three Lux on board: spend the buffs, ready all three (+6E), re-buff everyone, one Gold per buff spent.
How it ends
engine only — per Wallop (free): +2 Energy that can only be spent on spells, plus one Gold; bounded by three Wallops a deck, four buffs per Fae Dragon play and one buff per unit (702.3)

Body/Order had no entry. Card text verified against the corpus. HAND-WALKED 2026-09-04 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-04-two-industrialist-engines.md): a free Wallop spends a buff, the Dragon plays a Gold that is ready under R25 = A (1 rainbow), and the readied Lux exhausts for 2 spell-only Energy. 702.2.b defines spending a buff flatly, with no exemption for spends made as a cost, so Wallop's additional cost does trigger the Dragon. Bounded by 103.2.b (three Wallops), four buffs per Dragon play and 702.3 (one buff per unit at a time). Depends on no unruled reading. REFUTE 2 (2026-09-03): WOUNDED — the Energy is Lux's and spell-only, and it appears only when the buff readies a Lux you had already exhausted; per Wallop +2 spell Energy and one Gold, usable the same turn (R25 ruled A, 2026-09-04). Overt Operation at 5E+2P is worse than the free Wallop. 2026-09-04: the Overt Operation clause in prerequisites.notable was recalibrated after hunt L8 (B3) ran the arithmetic — it said "a net loss as a Gold converter" when the entry's own numbers break even at K=2 and win from K=3. Status stays verified: the correction is to a note, not to the walked line.
