Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Star Spring is your battlefield and you control it. The Faefolk is in your base, ready.
  2. Standard Move the Faefolk to Star Spring (144.4.a, cost is the exhaust). Its trigger: move an enemy unit to that battlefield.
  3. That enemy unit applies Contested for ITS controller (190.3.a.1), so the Combat that stages makes them the Attacker on your turn (464.2.c.1).
  4. Play Inferna at Star Spring with [Ambush] (2 Energy): it is the first non-token unit played there this turn, so Star Spring lets you move another unit you control there back to its base - the Faefolk.
  5. Next turn the Faefolk is ready again (315.1.b) and the whole thing repeats.

Per iteration

one enemy unit dragged onto your battlefield per turn, for 2 Energy and the Faefolk's exhaust; the Faefolk goes home free

How it ends

engine only - one forced reposition a turn, throttled by Star Spring's once-per-turn clause

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue62-table-of-fourteen.md), issue #62 section 2.6. The catalogue already had UNL-112 in faefolk-challenger-forced-attacker; what is new here is that Star Spring turns a one-shot into a per-turn engine by paying the return trip. The rule that makes the drag worth anything - Contested keys on the moved unit's controller, so THEY become the Attacker on YOUR turn - was established by the #58 walk and is applied, not re-derived. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Trap check: no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token is played at the Spring (185 would make it ineligible anyway); the return is a move and not a recall; 143.4 means Inferna arrives exhausted, which does not matter since it is played for the trigger. Depends on no unruled reading.
