Forge of the Fluft — the only free attach in the pool that picks the carrier, which is the one thing [Weaponmaster] cannot do
Pieces
- Forge of the Fluft ×1
SFD-208 · battlefield
While you control this battlefield, friendly legends have "Exhaust: Attach an Equipment you control to a unit you control."
- Svellsongur ×3
SFD-059 · payoff · calm
[Equip] 1 Energy + 1 Calm Power (1 Energy + 1 Calm Power: Attach this to a unit you control.) As this is attached to a unit, copy that unit's text to this Equipment's effect text for as long as this is attached to it.

Deck
- The line is mono-Calm (Svellsongur; the Forge is Colorless), so 103.1.b.3 admits any legend with Calm in its pair. Three of them print no exhaust cost of their own, which is what makes the Forge's granted exhaust free rather than a trade: OGN-255/OGN-303 Nine-Tailed Fox (Calm/Mind), OGN-261/OGN-306 Radiant Dawn (Calm/Order), UNL-191/UNL-231 Wuju Master (Calm/Body). OGS-019 Wuju Bladesman - Starter also has no exhaust but is restricted in 2v2.
Prerequisites
- ONE FREE ATTACH PER TURN, BECAUSE THE COST IS THE LEGEND'S EXHAUST. 107.4.c makes the Champion Legend a Game Object on the board, 414.1 marks a Game Object on the board as spent, and 315.1.b readies 'all Game Objects they control that are able to be readied' every Awaken. So the ability comes back every turn and is never worth more than once per turn.
- IT ALSO MOVES AN EQUIPMENT THAT IS ALREADY ATTACHED, FOR FREE, ACROSS THE BOARD. 434.1.f: 'Attaching a card to a new Top-Most Card will cause it to Detach from the card to which it is currently Attached.' 434.4: 'When a card Attaches to a card, its location becomes the same as the new Top-Most Card.' 434.4.a: 'This is not a Move.' So the Forge re-aims a Svellsongur at a different unit at a different battlefield with no [Ganking], no exhaust on the carrier and no move trigger — and R6 = A already ruled that Svellsongur copies the carrier's CURRENT text rather than a snapshot, so the copy re-aims with it.
- RE-ATTACHING TO THE SAME BODY IS A NO-OP, so the ability is never a free repeat of an attach trigger. 434.1.g: 'Attaching a card to its current Top-Most Card will not have any effect', and 434.1.h says nothing additional happens if an effect instructs it. That is also why [Weaponmaster] has to spell out 'even if it's already attached' — it means already attached to a DIFFERENT unit.
- IT IS COMPLEMENTARY TO SFD-054 JAX, UNMATCHED, NOT A DUPLICATE OF IT. Jax grants 'Your Equipment everywhere have [Quick-Draw]', and 819's Quick-Draw attaches free only 'when you play it' — the first attach. The Forge is the only free attach for an Equipment that is already on the board.
- THE FORGE HAS TO BE TAKEN AND KEPT. 'While you control this battlefield' is the wording 190.6.d governs: a battlefield you provide starts uncontrolled (190.1, 'Control is established over Battlefields through the course of play') and while it has no Controller 'you refers to no one, and all such instructions are ignored'. Walking a body there and establishing Control (466.5, or the bloodless 344.2 route) is part of this entry's cost.
- AND IT IS NOT GUARANTEED TO BE ON THE TABLE: 485.4.a puts one of your three battlefields into a Duel, 485.5 picks it at random, 486.5 lets you choose in 1v1 Match play, and 103.4.c forbids a second copy of the name.
- WHAT IT IS WORTH, COUNTED: three Svellsongur attached for free is 3 Energy and 3 Calm Power saved, one turn at a time. On the three verified Svellsongur hold BURSTs (svellsongur-copy-hold, ivern-svellsongur-four-tags-hold, shen-kinkou-svellsongur-hold) that Power is the part of the bill no other card in the pool can remove, and each of those entries says so.
- A BLOODLESS CONQUER IS NOT A FAIT ACCOMPLI, AND 46 OF THE 47 ENTRIES CITING 344.2 DID NOT SAY SO (added 2026-09-12, #187 batch 25). **316.8.b.1.a**: during a Non-Combat Showdown *"units controlled by a different player may become present at the Battlefield where the Showdown is"*, which converts it to a COMBAT Showdown in the following cleanup - so the opponent can turn your uncontested walk-in into a fight. 316.8.c is the permission (a Showdown is a Window of Opportunity for [Action] and [Reaction] cards). **The answer set is THREE CARDS, swept on the ACTOR rather than on the destination**: `OGN-173 Ride the Wind` (Chaos, E2+1), `OGN-262 Zenith Blade` (Calm/Order, E3+2) and `SFD-184 Relentless Pursuit` (Fury/Body, E2+1) - twelve printings move a friendly unit, and nine of them send it to base or need a body already there. They span three identities, so **no identity is safe**; and `OGN-262 Zenith Blade` is the worst to walk into, because it STUNS your body on the way in, and 423.1.b removes a stunned unit`s contribution to the damage step while 423.1.c keeps its full Might as the price to kill it - one 3-Energy card takes the unit and the battlefield. **[Ambush] is not a fourth answer**: 822.1.b needs a battlefield where the player already has units, and the defining feature of that board is that they have none there. **THE REMEDY IS A COUNTERSPELL, AND A FIRST VERSION OF THIS NOTABLE SAID SOMETHING FALSE THAT IS WITHDRAWN HERE (corrected within the hour, 2026-09-12).** It said that because all three answers are [Action] and 358.4 admits an Action card only as the card that CLOSES the state, the attacker - who holds Focus by 345 and priority by 335.1 - could shut them out by playing any cheap Action card first. Every step is true and the conclusion is false, because **a Showdown is a LOOP, not a single window**: 346 - *"When the last item on the chain resolves and the turn returns to an Open State during a Showdown, Focus passes, and the next Player gains both Focus and Priority"* - with 347.1.b and 347.2.a. Closing the state buys a lock-out lasting exactly that CHAIN; when it resolves the Showdown reopens, Focus passes TO THE DEFENDER, and they play their answer into an open Showdown after all. **The real sequence**: walk in, take Focus, **PASS** (acting first gains nothing); they play the answer, which closes the state as it is played; **you COUNTER it**, since 358.4`s other half now admits only [Reaction] and all eleven of the pool`s counters are Reaction, and 425.1.c refunds them nothing; all players then pass in sequence, 347.2.a ends the Showdown, and 348.2.a with 348.2.a.1 give you Control and the Conquer. The cheap counter is `OGN-045 Defy` (Calm, E1 + 1 Power, *"counter a spell that costs no more than 4 Energy and no more than one rainbow"*), which covers all three answers; `OGN-064 Wind Wall` is the unconditional one. **So the protection narrows to pairs containing CALM** - it is not the one-Energy insurance any deck can buy.
Bodies no card supplies
Establish Control of Forge of the Fluft: walk a body in and take it
Steps
- Establish Control of Forge of the Fluft: walk a body in and take it. Until then 190.6.d ignores the whole sentence.
- Play a Svellsongur (E3 + 1 Calm Power). Playing it is not attaching it — 818.1 makes Equip an Activated Ability, so the gear sits on the board unattached.
- Main Phase: exhaust your legend for the ability the Forge granted it and attach the Svellsongur to whichever unit you want copied. No [Equip] cost is determined and none is paid; 818.1.c.2 shows the two abilities reach the same Attach action.
- 434.1.c gives the carrier 'all Effect Text of all cards Attached to it', which for Svellsongur is a copy of the carrier's own text — the composition #45 counted at 2^v instances for v copies.
- Next turn 315.1.b readies the legend and the ability is available again: attach the second Svellsongur, or 434.1.f-move an attached one onto a new carrier at a different battlefield for nothing.
Per iteration
one attach per turn at zero resource cost — 1 Energy and 1 Calm Power saved per Svellsongur, or one free relocation of an attached Equipment
How it ends
engine only — one free attach a turn for as long as you hold the Forge; it pays no points and 103.2.b caps the Svellsongur it can place at three

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #171. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The pool was swept for every other free attach before the uniqueness claim was written: [Weaponmaster] on seven bodies (attaches 'to me'), SFD-024 Rell Magnetic and SFD-050 Azir Ascendant and SFD-109 Akshan Mischievous (all 'to me'), SFD-139 Edge of Night (itself), [Quick-Draw] and SFD-054 Jax Unmatched (on play only), and SFD-011 Angle Shot (a 2-Energy spell, so not free). None of them lets you choose both the Equipment and the carrier for nothing, and none of them repeats every turn. Trap check: 107.4.b keeps the legend out of any 'here' clause, which does not matter because the granted ability names no location; 434.1.g closes the re-attach loop, so nothing here is claimed to repeat within a turn; no attack, no token, no [Temporary], no rune recycled; exactly one battlefield, so 485.4.a is respected.
