Rengar, Pouncing is the only card whose OWN TEXT says so (a second route exists through 355.2.b: OGN-107 Ava Achiever, "When I attack, you may pay 1 Mind to play a card with [Hidden] from your hand, ignoring its cost. If it's a unit, play it HERE" - 359.3.f.2 reads "here" at execution, where she is standing; noted by the #170 walk, 2026-09-07) — and Fresh Beans draws for it

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Play Fresh Beans (2 Energy) at your base.
  2. On your turn, attack a battlefield: move a unit in, 190.3.a.1 applies Contested and 464.2.c.1 makes you the Attacker. A Combat Showdown opens.
  3. Inside that Showdown, play Rengar, Pouncing (3 Energy + 1 Fury Power) directly to the battlefield you are attacking.
  4. Fresh Beans' trigger fires — a unit was played during a showdown. Exhaust it and draw 1 (383.3.c).
  5. The Cleanup following his arrival designates him an Attacker (464.2.c.3.a, 319.6, 323.2.a); [Assault 2] has him fight at 5 Might (807.1.c).

Per iteration

-1 card, -3 Energy -1 Fury Power, +1 card drawn, +1 attacking body at 5 Might inside an open combat

How it ends

engine — a 5-Might attacker added after blocks are committed, plus one card, for 3 Energy and 1 Fury Power; one draw a turn (415.3.a). Nothing here scores.

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #173. UNL-011 Fresh Beans and SFD-025 Rengar, Pouncing were both in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 144.1.b, 144.2, 190.3.a.1, 319.6, 323.2.a, 355.2.a, 381, 383.3.c, 415.3.a, 464.2.c.1, 464.2.c.3.a, 807.1.c, 811.1.b, 822.1.b opened in the Core Rules file. Both cards legal in both formats; neither is Signature. No unruled reading. The uniqueness claim was swept over the corpus rather than asserted, and it matters because the project's refuse-bucket C ('no [Hidden] card can play the attacker-side role') has exactly this card as its one exception in the whole pool.
