Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Play Gangplank, Naval (6 Energy) and Ambessa, The Wolf (4 Energy) - the order does not matter.
  2. Empower Gangplank for 2 Body Power. 441.2 makes the state permanent, so from now on a spell or ability that chooses him and would stun him, shrink him, or bounce him instead gives him +3 Might for the turn.
  3. Empower Ambessa for 3 Energy + 1 Body Power. She is a 7 Might body and 054.1 makes 'can't be dealt damage unless I'm in combat' absolute outside combat.
  4. Do not expect either to survive a kill by effect, a banish, a forced move, or a return to the Main Deck - none of those is on the list.
  5. Note the interaction with this walk's own mutual-damage entry: Ambessa cannot be touched by a Challenge cast outside a combat, and can be by one cast inside a combat she is in.

Per iteration

one permanent purchase per body; three removal shapes converted into +3 Might on Gangplank, and all non-combat damage refused on Ambessa

How it ends

engine only - a one-time Empower per body (441.1.b) and three of each by 103.2.b; nothing here scores, and four of the pool's eight removal shapes go straight through both

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #186, batch 1). The first entry to use VEN-086 Gangplank, Naval or VEN-084 Ambessa, The Wolf. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and quoted: 054.1, 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 355.10.d, 441.1.b, 441.2, 469. VEN-086 has a second printing, VEN-181, whose corpus row abbreviates the reminder text; CardIndex.equivalents folds them, so the entry covers both. The entry is deliberately written as a taxonomy with its GAPS stated first - four of eight shapes answered, four not - because a partial anti-removal package read as a full one is how an entry ends up promising a body will survive. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted; neither is a Signature card. No unruled reading.
