Four Birds, four Visions, and 817.2.b says they all see the SAME card unless you recycle — which is what makes it a four-deep dig instead of four looks
Pieces
- Gemcraft Seer ×1
OGN-100 · engine · mind
[Vision] (When you play me, look at the top card of your Main Deck. You may recycle it.) Other friendly units have [Vision].
- Flurry of Feathers ×3
UNL-044 · payoff · calm
[Reaction] Choose one — • Counter a spell. • Play four 1 Might Bird unit tokens with [Deflect]. (Opponents must pay 1 Power of any domain to choose them with a spell or ability.)
Payoff
Deck
- Gemcraft Seer is mono-Mind and Flurry of Feathers mono-Calm, so 103.1.b.1 needs a Calm/Mind legend: OGN-255 / OGN-303 Nine-Tailed Fox, SFD-189 / SFD-244 Fire Below the Mountain, UNL-189 / UNL-230 Bashful Bloom, or VEN-145 / VEN-192 Curator of the Sands. Neither card is Signature, so 103.2.d.2 imposes nothing and all four names are open.

Prerequisites
- 817.2.b IS THE ENTRY, AND IT IS THE OPPOSITE OF THE OBVIOUS READING. 'If the player does not recycle the top card and nothing else happens in between the triggers resolving, each instance of Vision will see the same card.' So four simultaneous Visions are NOT four free peeks at four different cards. They are four chances to say 'bury this one' — 817.2.a lets you choose separately for each instance — and the moment you decline, every remaining instance shows you the same card again.
- WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY IT IS GOOD. The product is: look at the top card; recycle it and look at the next; repeat up to four times; stop the instant you like what is there. That is a four-card dig with a stop button, for no card and no extra Energy, and 416.1 puts everything you buried on the BOTTOM of the Main Deck rather than in the trash.
- AND IT NEVER BURNS YOU OUT. 431.1.c: 'If an instruction directs a player to look at or reveal cards in excess to the number of cards in a player's Main Deck, that player looks at or Reveals as many as possible, but does not Burn Out', with 431.1.c.1 extending that to the zone change that follows. So the dig is safe even in a deck run to empty, unlike any draw.
- THE STATIC REACHES A TOKEN BY RULE. 'Other friendly units have [Vision]' is a continuous ability; 185.2.b makes a token unit a unit, and 383.2.c.1 has an ability active in a zone apply to an object entering that zone at the same time — the same route that puts 'your Mechs have [Vision]' onto a Mech token. 817.1.c's trigger is 'the permanent entering the Board', not 'when played', so a token qualifies without any argument about 350.2.
- IT IS INSTANT-SPEED ON EITHER TURN. Flurry of Feathers is [Reaction], so 813.1.c.1 admits it 'during Closed States on any player's turn' — the dig can be taken inside the opponent's combat, after you know what you need.
- THE BIRDS ARE NOT THE POINT HERE, AND ONE OF THEM CAN BE. Four 1 Might bodies with [Deflect] die to `OGN-133 Flurry of Blades` simultaneously (143.2.a), so they are not a garrison; what they reliably are is four Vision instances. `UNL-077 Soul Shepherd` (Mind, 'Your token units have +1 :rb_might:') is the repair if the same deck wants them to survive, and it is in domain here.
- THE OTHER MODE IS A COUNTERSPELL, so the card is never dead — but choosing it gives no Visions. 103.2.b caps the copies at three, i.e. three digs a game.
- IT DOES NOT SCORE. Deck sculpting is card SELECTION, not card advantage; 416.1.a sends the buried cards to the bottom and no card in the pool turns that into a point.
Steps
- Play Gemcraft Seer (E3 + 1 Mind Power). Its own [Vision] triggers once on the way in.
- Hold Flurry of Feathers until you need a card. 813.1.c.1 lets it be played in any Closed State on either player's turn.
- Choose the second mode: four 1 Might Bird tokens with [Deflect] enter the board. Gemcraft Seer's static has already given each of them [Vision] (383.2.c.1), and 817.1.c fires on each one entering.
- 383.3.d lets you order the four triggers on the Chain and 340.1 resolves them one at a time.
- On the first: look at the top card of your Main Deck. Recycle it (416.1 sends it to the bottom) and the next trigger sees a new top card; decline and 817.2.b guarantees the next trigger sees the same one.
- Stop as soon as the top card is what you want. Nothing has been drawn, so 431.1.a is never in play, and 431.1.c means even an empty deck costs nothing.
- The Birds remain as four [Deflect] bodies, worth one damage each to an attacker (143.2.a with 465.2.c.4).
How it ends
engine only — up to four cards buried and a stop button, at [Reaction] speed, three times a game (103.2.b); it selects rather than draws, so nothing is gained in raw cards and nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #170, from `gemcraft-seer-vision-generalization`. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The content is 817.2.b, which no entry had cited: mass Vision is not N looks, it is one look with up to N re-rolls, and that distinction is the whole difference between 'four free cards seen' (wrong) and 'a four-deep dig with a stop button' (right). Trap check: 431.1.c is quoted so the dig is stated as Burn-Out-safe rather than assumed; the tokens' Vision is sourced to 383.2.c.1 + 817.1.c rather than to 350.2; the Birds are explicitly NOT claimed as a garrison, with the Flurry of Blades sweep and the in-domain repair named; the counterspell mode is noted so the card is never called dead; produces is card-advantage-engine because the dig is what feeds a combo piece, and the notable says plainly that it is selection and not raw cards.
