Hunt is both a conquer effect and a hold effect, so Reckoner's Arena pays it twice — and Svellsongur doubles the whole thing

Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains are Calm and Body, and the source's is UNL-191 Wuju Master, whose '[Level 6] Your units have +1 Might' and '[Level 11] Your units enter ready' are fed by exactly this XP. The other Calm/Body legends are OGN-257 Blind Monk, SFD-193 Grandmaster at Arms, and OGS-019 Wuju Bladesman - Starter, which is RESTRICTED in 2v2.
Prerequisites
- 12 XP OFF ONE HOLD, AND THE ARITHMETIC IS EXACT. [Hunt 3] is worded 'When I conquer or hold', which 823.1.b and 823.1.c.1 make BOTH a Conquer Effect and a Hold Effect - the fact the #45 walk established for ivern-arena-sentinel-hold. So on a Hold each instance pays twice: 3 for being a hold effect, 3 more because the Arena activates the conquer effects of units here. One Svellsongur gives two instances (2^1). 2 x (3 + 3) = 12.
- THE SOURCE CONTRADICTS ITSELF EIGHTEEN SECONDS LATER AND THE ENTRY KEEPS THE FIGURE THAT CLOSES. It says '12 experience just for holding. It's insane' and then 'you get the 16', which no combination of these cards produces - two Svellsongur would give 2^2 x 6 = 24, not 16. #62 registered the discrepancy; the walk confirms 12 is the number that follows from the cards.
- THE BATTLEFIELD IS RANDOM AND CANNOT BE DOUBLED UP: random 1 of 3 in Duel (485.5) and Skirmish (487.5), chosen in Match (486.5); 103.4.c and Tournament Rules 402.1 forbid a second copy by name.
- XP IS NOT POINTS. Everything here buys is levels on the legend and whatever else spends XP; the Hold itself still Scores exactly one point (469.2, 470).
- The Svellsongur has to be on the GROMP, not on another unit at the Arena: 434.1.c appends Effect Text to its own Top-Most Card only.
Steps
- Equip Svellsongur to Voracious Gromp (1 Energy + 1 Calm Power) and take Reckoner's Arena with him.
- Survive the opponent's turn.
- Your Beginning Phase Holds the Arena (315.2.b.2). It Scores 1 point.
- Both instances of [Hunt 3] fire as hold effects: 3 + 3 = 6 XP.
- The Arena then activates the conquer effects of units there. [Hunt] is a conquer effect too (823.1.b), so both instances fire again: 6 more. Twelve XP.
- Repeat every turn he holds.
Per iteration
+12 XP and +1 point per turn from one battlefield
How it ends
engine only - 12 XP a turn, which is levels and not points

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue62-section3.md), issue #62 section 3, and it is one of the two entries that settles a contradiction #62 recorded in its section 5: the source says 12 and then says 16 within twenty seconds. Twelve is what the cards produce and the walk shows the multiplication; sixteen comes from nowhere and is not propagated. The rule that does the work - '[Hunt] is both a Conquer Effect and a Hold Effect' - was established by the #45 walk for ivern-arena-sentinel-hold and is applied here rather than re-derived, and so is #45's 2^v composition for Svellsongur. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Trap check: no attack designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall. Depends on R6 (ruled A).
