Heimerdinger copies Malzahar — a second body-to-Power conversion each turn
Pieces
- Heimerdinger, Inventor ×1
OGN-111 · engine · mind
I have all Exhaust abilities of all friendly legends, units, and gear.
- Malzahar, Fanatic ×1
OGN-113 · payoff · mind
Kill a friendly unit or gear, Exhaust: [Action] — [Add] 2 Power of any domain. (Use on your turn or in showdowns. Abilities that add resources can't be reacted to.)
Payoff
Deck
- Mono-Mind: any Mind legend.
Prerequisites
- THE CEILING IS FUEL, NOT THE ABILITY. Every activation eats one of your own units or gear, so the output is +2 rainbow Power per body, twice a turn instead of once. A token maker is what makes it worth the second activation — the Recruits of heimerdinger-vanguard-armory-recruits are the obvious feed, but that pairing is Mind/Order and this one is mono-Mind, so they are alternatives rather than a stack.
- 167 — 'Every player's Rune Pool empties at the start of each player's Main Phase and the end of each player's turn.' The Power has to be made and spent inside the same Main Phase or it is gone, which is the same trap platewyrm-egg-defender-gate had to be corrected for.
- The ability is [Action], so it also works in showdowns on either player's turn (806.1.c.1), and its own reminder says abilities that add resources cannot be reacted to.
- 143.4 — Heimerdinger enters exhausted, so the second conversion starts the turn after he lands.
- Malzahar is one of the twelve printings in the pool that make Power WITHOUT recycling a rune, which is the exception battle-mistress-gold-refund had to be rewritten for. Doubling him doubles a source that does not feed rune-recycle triggers.
Steps
- Malzahar, Fanatic and Heimerdinger, Inventor both on the board and ready.
- Main Phase: kill a friendly unit or gear and exhaust Malzahar — [Add] 2 rainbow Power.
- Kill a second friendly unit or gear and exhaust Heimerdinger, using his copy of the same ability — [Add] 2 more.
- Spend it this Main Phase (167).
Per iteration
+2 rainbow Power per friendly permanent killed, twice per turn instead of once
How it ends
engine only — 4 rainbow Power a turn if you have two spare bodies, and nothing at all if you do not

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue46-mining-walk.md), issue #46 section 1. The smallest of the three Heimerdinger entries and the one with the clearest bound: the ability is free to copy, the bodies it eats are not. Cross-references sprite-fountain-malzahar-jayce, which already uses Malzahar as a bodies-into-Power converter; this doubles its rate. The source's own deck needs Heimerdinger to be a Mech for unrelated reasons ('Heimerdinger needs to be a mech' at [3:53]) — that is a requirement of their Mel shell, not of this pairing, and it is deliberately not in the prerequisites. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Depends on no unruled reading.
