Payoff
Deck
- All three are mono-Order, so 103.1.b.3 admits any legend with Order in its pair: SFD-201/SFD-249 Chem-Baroness, UNL-199/UNL-235 Deceiver, SFD-197/SFD-247 Emperor of the Sands, VEN-147/VEN-193 Eye of Twilight, SFD-205/SFD-251 Grand Duelist, UNL-195/UNL-233 Green Father, OGN-253/OGN-302 Hand of Noxus, VEN-155/VEN-197 Heart of the Tempest, OGN-265/OGN-308 Herald of the Arcane, UNL-203/UNL-237 Keeper of the Hammer, OGS-021 Lady of Luminosity, VEN-153/VEN-196 Matriarch of War, OGS-023 Might of Demacia - Starter, UNL-187/UNL-229 Piltover Enforcer, OGN-261/OGN-306 Radiant Dawn, OGN-269/OGN-310 The Boss, SFD-187/SFD-243 Void Burrower.
Prerequisites
- TWO MOVES A TURN, AND THE DESTINATIONS ARE CONSTRAINED. 144.4 allows base-to-battlefield and battlefield-to-base only; battlefield-to-battlefield needs [Ganking], which nothing here grants. So the honest shape of the double move is out and back, or in and in — the Wolf goes base to battlefield, readies for one Order Power, and can go battlefield to base again, dropping a Recruit at each end. 'Here' is read at execution (359.3.f.2), so the second Recruit is born at the base.
- WHICH IS STILL WORTH IT, BECAUSE ONE OF THE TWO IS AT A BATTLEFIELD. The project has measured the walk to the battlefield as the bottleneck of every token line: of the 49 cards that create unit tokens, only 13 say 'here'. This is a repeatable one that costs a Power rather than a card.
- THE CONDITION IS A CHOICE, NOT A KILL. 'If you've chosen an enemy unit this turn' — Lacerate satisfies it even when its own kill clause does nothing, because the choosing happens on resolution regardless of the target's Might. 355.10.d is the other side: a spell that selects programmatically chooses nothing and would NOT satisfy the Wolf, so Grand Strategem and its family are no help here.
- AND THE READY IS ONCE A TURN BY ITS OWN TEXT, so no multiplier reaches it: 'only once each turn' is a condition of the ability under 377.2.b, and 383.3.e.1's per-turn cap is the same shape. A second Hungry Wolf is a second body with its own once-a-turn ready, not a second activation.
- LACERATE IS ALSO ONE OF THE POOL'S NINE DISEMPOWERERS and the record names only six; it and VEN-133 Glowstone are the two Order members that were missing. Against an [Empowered] body its first clause strips the state (441.2 makes Empowered permanent otherwise), which is a second, separate use of the same card.
- IT DOES NOT SCORE. The Recruits are 1 Might, so 143.2.a kills them to a single point of damage and OGN-133 Flurry of Blades clears any number simultaneously; this produces bodies and position, and the points have to come from a Hold or a Conquer elsewhere.
Steps
- Play Hungry Wolf (E4) and attach Eye of the Herald to it for one Order Power (818.1.b). 434.1.c gives the Wolf 'When I move, play a 1 Might Recruit unit token here'.
- In your Main Phase, cast Lacerate (E2 + 1 Order Power) choosing an enemy unit. The choice is what the Wolf reads; the kill clause is a bonus when the body is 3 Might or less.
- Standard-Move the Wolf from your base to a battlefield, paying 144.2's exhaust. The Herald's trigger fires and a 1-Might Recruit is born at that battlefield — 359.3.f.2 reads 'here' at execution.
- Pay one Order Power for the Wolf's ability: it readies and takes +1 Might this turn. 415.1 marks it available again.
- Move it once more — 144.4.b back to your base, since 144.4.c.1's battlefield-to-battlefield leg needs [Ganking] the deck has not granted — and the Herald makes a second Recruit there.
- Repeat next turn. The ability is once each turn by its own text and the enabling spell is capped at six castings by 103.2.b plus 829.1.b's single Flow replay.
Per iteration
two Recruit tokens a turn, one of them born at a battlefield, for one Order Power plus whatever the enemy-choosing spell already cost you
How it ends
engine only — one extra move per turn per Wolf and two tokens with it; the ability is once each turn by its own text and the enabler runs out at six castings; nothing here scores

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #180 — the first entry to use VEN-125 or VEN-127. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The entry is written against this project's own refuse-by-rule bucket for readies ('a ready that buys nothing'): a ready IS worth nothing on defence and worth exactly one Standard Move on offence, so it is paired only with a card that pays for moving, and the destination restriction of 144.4 is stated rather than glossed — the double move is out and back, not battlefield to battlefield. Trap check: 377.2.b is cited so both trailing sentences are read as conditions; 355.10.d is cited so a programmatic spell is known NOT to satisfy the condition; 359.3.f.2 is cited so 'here' is read at execution and the second token is honestly placed at the base; 185 / 186.1 / 416.1 apply to the Recruits as ever; the disempowerer count correction is carried on Lacerate's own note.
