Payoff
Deck
- ONE LEGEND, not a domain field: Icathian Rain is a Signature card tagged Kai'Sa, so 103.2.d.2 forces the one Kai'Sa legend NAME in the pool — Daughter of the Void (OGN-247, reprinted as OGN-299). Fury/Mind, which holds mono-Fury Annie and the colourless-cost mono-Fury Tome under 103.1.b.1.
- 103.2.d.1 caps the deck at three Signature cards, so each copy of the Rain spends a third of that budget.
- The Tome played a turn early: its ability costs its own exhaust and 415.3.a readies it only in your Awakening.
Prerequisites
- THE PAYOFF SCALES WITH THE NUMBER OF DEAL ACTIONS, NOT WITH THEIR SIZE, AND THIS CARD IS THE POOL'S MAXIMUM OF THAT NUMBER. 715: 'Bonus Damage applies to the total damage Dealt by one instance of the action.' Icathian Rain prints the sentence 'Deal 2 to a unit.' six separate times, so a +1 static is paid six times: 12 damage becomes 18. The entry is deliberately robust to the other reading — if the six sentences were read as ONE Deal action with six targets, 715.2 gives the same number ('the amount of Damage dealt to each target is increased by Bonus Damage individually and separately'). Either way it is +6.
- A SECOND BONUS DAMAGE SOURCE ADDS, IT DOES NOT DOUBLE. 714: 'If more than one instance of Bonus Damage is applied or granted to a Deal action, all instances are summed and applied once.' So Annie plus the Ravenborn Tome is +2 per Deal action — 6 x 4 = 24 damage — and not 2 x 18. Anyone pricing a second static as a multiplier is reading 714 backwards.
- IT HAS NO LOCATION CLAUSE, SO IT REACHES A BASE. Swept over the corpus: exactly six cards print damage to 'a unit' with no 'at a battlefield' and no 'here' — OGN-029 Falling Star, OGN-248 Icathian Rain, OGN-252 Super Mega Death Rocket!, OGS-022 Final Spark, UNL-020 Dancing Grenade and UNL-026 Xerath, Freed. Of those six the Rain is the only one with more than two Deal actions, which is what makes it the family's ceiling; Falling Star's two are already catalogued as `ravenborn-tome-falling-star-two-deal-actions`, and this entry is the six-action number, not a restatement of that one.
- IT IS DISJOINT FROM COMBAT AND FROM EXCESS DAMAGE. 713 scopes Bonus Damage to Deal actions, and 417.6.b.3 sources combat damage to the units themselves, so nothing here feeds OGN-034 Tryndamere's excess-damage threshold and nothing in the excess-damage family feeds this.
- THE SIX INSTRUCTIONS ARE INDEPENDENT, so the 24 can be one execution on a single body or spread across six. 465 is not involved at all — this is a spell, not a combat, so 465.2.c.4's cap on assigning more than lethal never applies and overkill on one target is legal.
- PRICE THE WHOLE BOARD, NOT THE SPELL. The Rain is 7 Energy + 3 Power on the turn it is cast, on top of Annie at 5 Energy + 1 Power and the Tome at 3 Energy, both of which have to have survived. A published figure that quotes only the spell's cost is the '18 Energy' shape this project keeps finding.
Steps
- Play Ravenborn Tome (3 Energy). It is live from your next Awakening (415.3.a).
- Play Annie, Fiery (5 Energy + 1 Fury Power). Her static is a Passive on the board: 'Your spells and abilities deal 1 Bonus Damage.'
- On a later turn, in your Main Phase, exhaust the Tome: the next spell you play this turn deals 1 Bonus Damage. 714 sums it with Annie's to +2, applied once per Deal action.
- Play Icathian Rain (7 Energy + 3 Power). Each of its six 'Deal 2 to a unit' instructions is raised to 4 (715 / 715.2).
- Distribute: 24 damage, in six independent instructions, at any units on the board — including units sitting in a base, since the card prints no location clause.
Per iteration
+1 damage per Deal action per Bonus Damage instance, summed once (714); on Icathian Rain that is +6 per instance and +12 for both
How it ends
engine — Annie and the Tome permanently raise every Deal action of every spell and ability you play; the Rain is the largest single cash-out in the pool at 24 damage for 7 Energy + 3 Power. Nothing here scores.

OGN-248 Icathian Rain and OGN-032 Ravenborn Tome were both in ZERO entries; OGS-001 Annie, Fiery appears in three. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.1, 103.2.d.1, 103.2.d.2, 415.3.a, 465.2.c.4, 713, 714, 715, 715.1, 715.2, 417.6.b.3 opened in the Core Rules file. The six-card 'no location clause' set was swept over the corpus rather than asserted. Legend line built from cards.json (Kai'Sa legends: OGN-247 / OGN-299, one name), not typed. No unruled reading.
