Combo · ENGINE
"1 Energy or 1 rainbow less" is a choice, and at nine Energy per Power the answer is always the Power
Pieces
- Irelia, Graceful ×1
SFD-141 · engine · chaos
Your spells that choose me cost 1 Energy or 1 Power of any domain less.
- Perfect Execution ×1
VEN-012 · payoff · fury
Ready a unit and give it [Assault 3] this turn. (+3 Might while it's an attacker.) [Flow] 3 Energy + 1 Fury Power (You may play this from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.)
Payoff
Deck
- Chaos + Fury, so five legend names (103.1.b.2): Loose Cannon (OGN-251), Dark Child - Starter (OGS-017), Glorious Executioner (SFD-185), Bloodharbor Ripper (UNL-185), Master of Shadows (VEN-143).
- A DECKBUILDING CONSTRAINT: no 'if you spent N' card in the list. See the last notable.
Prerequisites
- THE DISCOUNT IS A CHOICE, AND THE PROJECT'S OWN EXCHANGE RATE DECIDES IT. Irelia reads 'cost :rb_energy_1: or :rb_rune_rainbow: less', so you pick which component of the total cost comes down. The catalogue prices a Power at roughly NINE Energy inside a loop, and a Power is scarcer than an Energy at every stage of a normal game (315.3.b returns two runes a turn; 164.2.b spends one permanently to the Rune Deck, 161.2.b). Against Perfect Execution's printed 3 Energy + 1 Fury Power, taking the Power gives 3 Energy + 0 and taking the Energy gives 2 Energy + 1 Fury Power — the first is strictly better, and it is the choice a reader skips because both look like 'minus one'. CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#452): not for good. 416.1.b: 'Runes are Recycled to the Rune Deck.' 430.1 channels it again when the deck reaches it, so a recycled rune is off the board on every turn until the Rune Deck runs dry, which once a rune is recycled is T7 at the earliest going first and T6 at the earliest going second with only the Channel Phase's two a turn (161.2.a, 315.3.b, 485.7); each two more runes recycled push it a turn later, and a card that channels more (430.2) brings it back sooner. So the spent rune is gone until then, not permanently, and a Power is still the scarcer resource.
- AND THE RAINBOW HALF IS ONLY EVER A DOMAIN RUNE. No card in the pool prints a rainbow Power COST, so an 'or one rainbow less' rebate always comes off a printed domain Power. There is no case where it is dead letter on a card that has any Power cost at all, and no case where it saves you a rainbow you were going to pay.
- WHAT THE SPELL BUYS: 415.1 makes 'Ready a unit' a real ready, so a body that already attacked gets its exhaust back; 807.1.b.3 and 807.2 sum [Assault 3] with anything already on it and 807.1.c scopes it to being an attacker. On Irelia herself that is Might 4 + 3 = 7 attacking, twice in a turn, for 3 Energy.
- SHE HAS TO BE THE CHOICE, WHICH IS THE COST OF THE DISCOUNT. 'Your spells that choose me' — a Perfect Execution aimed at any other body is full price, so the discount and the payoff are pulling in the same direction only while Irelia is the one you want readied. That is a real constraint, not a formality.
- THE ANTI-SYNERGY IS PRINTED IN THE SAME DOMAIN AND IS EASY TO BUILD BY ACCIDENT. A discount reduces what you SPEND (166.2, 203.1, 356.4.b), and `SFD-143 Sivir, Mercenary` (Chaos, 'If you've spent at least :rb_rune_rainbow::rb_rune_rainbow: this turn, I have +2 :rb_might: and [Ganking]') reads exactly that. Every rebate Irelia gives makes Sivir's clause harder to reach. 206 does not rescue her: that governs a 'COSTS N' check, which reads the printed cost — two different tests, and this list wants the first family and not the second.
- 356.4.e KEEPS A SECOND IRELIA HONEST: 'If a discount applies a minimum cost, that minimum applies only to that discount.' Irelia prints no floor, so two of her are two full reductions and 356.6 ('Energy and Power costs can't be reduced below 0') is the only stop — Perfect Execution at 3 Energy + 1 Power under two Irelias is 2 Energy + 0, and under three it is 1 Energy + 0.
- [FLOW] IS PRICED AT FULL VALUE HERE ON PURPOSE. 829.1.b gives one replay per copy from the trash for 3 Energy + 1 Fury; whether Irelia's rebate reaches a Flow cost is not needed by this entry, so it is not claimed.
Steps
- Play Irelia, Graceful (4 Energy + 1 Chaos Power) and walk her to a battlefield.
- Attack with her (144.2): Might 4, and she is now exhausted.
- Play Perfect Execution choosing Irelia. Her static takes the cost down by one component — take the Power: 3 Energy and no Fury Power.
- She is readied (415.1) and has [Assault 3] this turn: Might 7 while attacking, with her exhaust available for a second Standard Move.
- Later, replay Perfect Execution from the trash for its full [Flow] cost of 3 Energy + 1 Fury Power (829.1.b), which then banishes it.
Per iteration
one Power (or one Energy, your choice) off each qualifying spell, plus a refunded exhaust and +3 Might while attacking
How it ends
engine — one Power saved on every spell that chooses Irelia, and a re-readied 7-Might attacker per Perfect Execution; nothing here scores

SFD-141 Irelia, Graceful and VEN-012 Perfect Execution were both in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.2, 103.2.b, 144.2, 161.2.b, 166.2, 203.1, 206, 315.3.b, 356.4.b, 356.4.e, 356.6, 415.1, 807.1.b.3, 807.1.c, 807.2, 829.1.b opened in the Core Rules file. The entry deliberately does NOT claim that Irelia's rebate reaches a [Flow] cost — it is not needed, so it is not asserted. The Sivir anti-synergy is the same shape the batch-1 walk recorded for Raging Firebrand and is repeated here because the two cards share a domain and a deck slot.
