Deck
- A Body/Order legend. The identity is computed from data/cards.json and not from prose: Ivern ['order'], Daring Poro ['order'], Trinity Force ['body'], Reckoner's Arena [] (colourless), so the union is exactly {body, order} and 103.1.b admits all five Body/Order legends - OGN-269 The Boss, OGS-023 Might of Demacia - Starter, SFD-205 Grand Duelist, UNL-203 Keeper of the Hammer and VEN-153 Matriarch of War. No card here is Signature (checked against the signature flag in cards.json), so 103.2.d.2 does not fix the legend and any of the five works.
- Reckoner's Arena ON THE TABLE and under your Control. A deck may not carry two of it (103.4.c, Tournament Rules 402.1) and 485.5 says the Duel 'randomly selects' one of your three, so it is one in three; 487.5 is the same in Skirmish and 486.5 lets you choose in Match. And a battlefield you provide starts UNCONTROLLED (190.1), with 190.6.d's second sentence - 'If the battlefield has no Controller, "you" refers to no one, and all such instructions are ignored' - switching its whole text off until you take it. Establishing Control is part of this entry's cost.
- Three Ivern standing at the Arena with a Trinity Force attached to each, and the fourth tag on any body you control anywhere.
Prerequisites
- THIS IS THE FIRST FINISHER OF ANY CLASS AVAILABLE TO BODY/ORDER, AND THAT IS WHY IT WAS BUILT. Measured over the catalogue at 727 entries, body/order could run 151 entries of which 145 were ENGINE and 6 ALT_WIN: zero INFINITE, zero BURST, zero CHAIN. Body/Order owns no trigger multiplier - all three in the pool are Karthus (Order, Deathknell only), Red Brambleback (Fury) and Blue Sentinel (Mind) - so the only multiplier it can reach is the COLOURLESS battlefield, and nobody had pointed it at the one payoff Body prints.
- THE ARENA PAYS IVERN TWICE AND TRINITY FORCE ONCE, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS THE WORDING. 823.1.b - 'Hunt is both a Conquer and a Hold effect' - with 823.1.c.1 making Hunt short for 'When I Conquer or Hold, my controller gains X XP' establishes that the phrase 'When I conquer or hold' names both categories; Ivern is printed with exactly that phrase and Trinity Force is printed 'When I hold'. So on one Hold each Ivern fires once as a Hold Effect (383.4.d.2.a) and once more when the Arena activates the conquer effects, while each Trinity Force fires once. There is no reading here: 383.4.g.1's worked example is Reckoner's Arena by name, and it spells out that the player 'checks the trigger condition of their conquer effects to see if the condition has been fulfilled, treating the conquer portion of the condition as having been fulfilled' - Ivern's non-conquer portion is the four tags, and it is fulfilled, so it is not filtered out.
- POINTS PER HOLD: 1 + (2N + T) x (1 + K), N = Ivern present, T = Trinity Force present, K = Blue Sentinel present. This entry declares N=3, T=3, K=0 and therefore TEN. It is the same formula ivern-arena-sentinel-hold publishes as 1 + 2 x N x (1 + K), with the Trinity Forces added as a flat addend inside the multiplicand because they are Hold effects only. Neighbours, so nobody repeats the 2026-09-04 BURST audit's mistake: N=3, T=2 is 9; N=2, T=3 is 8 and is the cheapest board that reaches the Victory Score, at 28 Energy and 3 Body Power - NOT 24, which this note said until it was corrected on merge, because **each Ivern supplies one of the four tags itself, so dropping an Ivern costs you a tag body elsewhere**: N=2 covers two tags and needs TWO more bodies (the cheapest in identity are E2 - OGN-210 Daring Poro, OGN-216 Soaring Scout, SFD-099 Veteran Poro, SFD-159 Trusty Ramhound, VEN-132 Fallen Feline), so it saves 6 Energy on Iverns and gives 4 back, a true saving of 2; N=3, T=1 is 8; N=2, T=2 is 7 and does NOT get there; N=3, T=0 is 7. The entry is authored two points above 8 on purpose, so that losing one Ivern or one Trinity Force still wins.
- IT NEEDS NO BLUE SENTINEL, WHICH IS THE POINT. ivern-arena-sentinel-hold reaches 9 on the same Arena with 2 Ivern and 1 Blue Sentinel, and Blue Sentinel is MIND - so that entry is Mind/Order and a Body/Order deck cannot run it. This line replaces the multiplier with a flat Body addend it can actually cast. Read the two together: same battlefield, same doubling mechanism, two different identities, and neither dominates (K multiplies, T adds, so the Sentinel is stronger per card wherever Mind is legal).
- ONLY ONE OF THE TEN POINTS IS A SCORE. 194.1 lists 194.1.c - 'Spells, Triggered Abilities and Activated Abilities that instruct them to gain one or more points' - as a way of gaining points separate from 194.1.a Holding, 469 defines Scoring as Conquer or Hold only, and 470 caps Scoring 'once per Battlefield per turn'. So the cap is spent on the single Hold point and the other nine are untouched (R2 = A). 471.1.a.1 says the same from the other end - 'Notably, points Gained from sources that are not Conquer are not beholden to these restrictions' - and 471.1.b's Final Point clause opens 'When a player tries to Gain a Point through a Conquer', so the eighth, ninth and tenth points land unconditionally from any starting score.
- THREE IVERN COVER THREE TAGS AND ONE CHEAP BODY COVERS THE FOURTH. Each Ivern chooses its tag as it is played, so the three copies take Bird, Cat and Dog and OGN-210 Daring Poro (Order, E2, M2) supplies Poro. Measured over data/cards.json, 67 printings carry at least one of Bird, Cat, Dog or Poro and ZERO carry two, so a fourth body is unavoidable however it is chosen - there is no two-for-one. Daring Poro is Might 2 rather than the Might 1 of OGN-216 Soaring Scout, which matters only against OGN-133 Flurry of Blades, and it never has to leave your base.
- SFD-099 / UNL-223 VETERAN PORO IS THE UPGRADE THAT SAVES A POWER, AND IT IS BODY. '[Weaponmaster] (When you play me, you may [Equip] one of your Equipment to me for :rb_rune_rainbow: less, even if it's already attached.)' - Trinity Force's [Equip] is exactly one Body rune, so the discount pays it in full and the attach is free (821.1.c; 821.1.c.6 notes the Equip ability is not activated this way, which costs nothing here because Trinity Force has no play or choose payoff). It also carries the Poro tag, so it replaces Daring Poro AND one Equip cost with one card - but it must then stand AT THE ARENA for its Trinity Force to score, where Daring Poro could stay home. Both are correct; the entry declares the safer one.
- SKYFALL OF AREION WOULD MAKE THIS FIFTEEN AND IS ILLEGAL HERE. SFD-030 reads '[Effect] My hold effects are also conquer effects, and vice versa', which would turn each carrier's Trinity Force into a conquer effect and have the Arena double it too. It is FURY, so 103.1.b keeps it out of Body/Order entirely. Stated so the next reader does not spend the walk: the escalation exists, it is just in another identity, and brambleback-trinity-skyfall-conquer is where it lives.
- NOTHING IN THIS LINE IS PROTECTED FROM A GEAR KILL, AND THE POOL PRINTS SIXTEEN OF THEM. 718.5.b: 'Attached cards still can be chosen or targeted by game effects while Attached' - the Equipment's own printed Rules Text is Inactive while attached (718.2) and its [Equip] is unusable (721.2), but the CARD is a legal target for every turn it sits there. Swept with /\bkills?\b[^.]{0,80}\bgear\b/i over text+effect of every deckable base in data/cards.json, the pool has 16 base codes (15 names; Jayce, Man of Progress is printed twice) and EVERY ONE OF THE SIX DOMAINS prints at least one, so there is no identity this line can hide in. The unconditional enemy-facing ones are OGN-022 Thermo Beam, SFD-005 Detonate and VEN-003 Brittle Steel (Fury), OGN-224 Salvage (Order), SFD-032 Disarming Rake (Calm) and SFD-077 Rocket Barrage (Mind). OGN-022 Thermo Beam - Fury, E5 + 2 Fury Power, '[Action] (Play on your turn or in showdowns.) Kill all gear.' - is the only card in the pool that kills EVERY gear at once, so it answers the whole payoff with one card; it is symmetric, which makes it cheap for a gearless deck and expensive for anyone else (the shape acceptable-losses-ravenbloom-prefect-gearless-gear-hate already records for OGN-179). For this line specifically that is three of the ten points, and Thermo Beam takes all three with one card; the three Ivern and the Arena survive it, so the line falls to seven and misses by one. That is exactly the margin the two points of slack above were authored for, and it is why N=3 is worth the 6 extra Energy over N=2.
- THE TIMING CUTS BOTH WAYS, AND NO [Reaction] GEAR KILL EXISTS. Swept over all sixteen gear kills: none carries [Reaction]. Thermo Beam and Salvage are [Action], which 806.1.c.1 makes short for 'This can be played during showdowns on any player's turn'; Detonate and Brittle Steel are plain spells, and 155 confines a spell to 'an Open State outside of Showdowns on its controller's turn'. The Score this line pays on happens at 315.2.b.2 inside your own Beginning Phase, where the opponent holds no priority in a Neutral Open State (312.2.a) and the Closed State the trigger opens admits only a [Reaction] (813.1.c.1). So the opponent can NEVER strip the gear in the window that pays - every answer has to be cast on their own turn, one full turn before. That is what keeps the line alive, and it is also the window in which to defend it: the removal spell on the Chain is a Closed State, 312.2.c hands out priority there and 813.1.c.1 admits a [Reaction] in response.
- WHAT ELSE REFUTES IT. (a) The Arena is one in three in a Duel (485.5) and the line does nothing without it - that is the largest single risk and no card in the pool fixes it, since 103.4.c forbids a second copy. (b) Every Ivern is a Score ability that must be PRESENT at the Arena when it pays (383.4.d.2.a), so removal aimed at a body costs 2 points and removal aimed at its gear costs 1. (c) At E6 each with no Power, three Ivern plus three Trinity Force is 30 Energy and 3 Body Power of deployment, which on the rune curve of docs/plays/2026-09-12-the-unopposed-clock.md is turn 7 at the earliest - slower than simply holding two battlefields, so like every finisher in this catalogue it earns its slot only on a board the opponent is contesting. (d) Nothing here Conquers, so no conquer payoff fires and 471.1.b never engages.
- THE TAG BODY IS PARKED AT BASE TO DODGE `OGN-133`, AND THREE CARDS REACH IT THERE (added 2026-09-13, #200). `UNL-177 Ivern, Friend to All` reads *"When I conquer or hold, score 1 point if your units have all of the following tags among them — Bird, Cat, Dog, and Poro"*, and that clause carries NO location clause — which is exactly why this entry declares `OGN-210 Daring Poro` (Might 2) in zone BASE, where `OGN-133 Flurry of Blades` (*"Deal 1 to all units at battlefields"*) cannot reach it. THAT REASONING IS RIGHT AND IT IS INCOMPLETE. Measured over the twenty cards in the pool that remove more than one body in one action (the table is in `docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-13-might-1-survivability.md`), FOUR carry no location clause of their own and take the base too — corrected from THREE on 2026-09-13, and the fourth is the CHEAPEST of them: `UNL-132 Angler Beast` (Chaos, E5 P1, *"return all units with 2 :rb_might: or less to their owners' hands"*), `VEN-133 Glowstone` (Order, **E2**), `UNL-180 The Ruination` (Order, E9 P3, *"Kill all units."*) and `SFD-147 Downwell` (Chaos, E8 P2, *"Return all units and gear to their owners' hands."*). Glowstone's route is printed on the card: its own activated ability reads *"Disempower this, :rb_exhaust:: Choose a player. They gain control of this and recall it."*, and its delayed clause reads *"At the end of your turn, kill this and deal 5 to all units you control."* So an opponent plays it, Empowers it, then disempowers and exhausts to HAND IT TO YOU, and 053.2 makes a gear say "this" and *"your turn"* its CONTROLLER's turn, so the end of YOUR turn deals 5 to all units YOU control, base included. Against a Hold line the timing works: the body dies at the end of turn N and the Hold at the start of N+1 finds three tags. Two qualifications, because they decide what to do about it: it is FIVE damage, so no +Might in the pool reaches it and it belongs in this census rather than in any repair list; and it costs the opponent a cross-turn setup that sits visibly on their board first. The tag body sits inside Angler Beast's band and THERE IS NOWHERE FURTHER BACK TO PARK IT, because the base is already the safe zone. And the loss is total rather than partial — though NOT for the reason the first version of this note gave, which had 383.2.a.1 exactly backwards (corrected 2026-09-13). THAT RULE’S TEST IS POSITIONAL and Riot works both sides of it: `Sona, Harmonious` puts the *"if"* IMMEDIATELY after the Condition, so it is part of the Trigger Condition and *"if she is removed in reaction to the triggered ability, it will still resolve"*; `Loose Cannon` puts it after the effect verb and Riot says outright it *"is not immediately after the trigger condition, so it is part of the effect and not the condition"*. `UNL-177` reads *"When I conquer or hold, score 1 point if your units have all of the following tags among them"* — THE EFFECT VERB FIRST, which is the Loose Cannon shape — so the tag check is part of the EFFECT and is made ON RESOLUTION. The loss is total because the card says *"all of the following tags"*, and the TIMING runs the opposite way from a Trigger Condition: killing the tag body IN RESPONSE to the trigger BLANKS the whole Score, where a Trigger Condition would have survived it. **That makes parking the body at base MORE load-bearing, not less** — and it is why the three no-location threats above are the ones that matter. PARKING AT BASE IS A DEFENCE AGAINST FLURRY AND NOT A DEFENCE AGAINST THE LENS — eighteen entries in the catalogue park a Might-2-or-less body at base and, before this note, none named any of the three. AND THE REPAIR FOR A BASE-PARKED BODY MUST BE BOARD-WIDE, WHICH NO NOTABLE IN THIS FAMILY SAID UNTIL 2026-09-13. The six static +Might grants split on location exactly as the threats do. `OGS-013 Garen, Commander` and `OGN-243 Darius, Executioner` read *"Other friendly units have +1 :rb_might: here"* — the last word is HERE —, so they are complete against the sixteen location-scoped sweeps AND ONLY AT THAT BATTLEFIELD, and they do NOTHING for a body at base. `VEN-018 Rage Amplifier`, `UNL-077 Soul Shepherd`, `UNL-147 Baron Nashor` and `UNL-191 Wuju Master` carry no location clause, so they reach the body wherever it stands, up to their own Might threshold. A SCOPE IS SAFE EXACTLY WHEN IT MATCHES THE THREAT: `OGN-133` reads *"all units at battlefields"* and a Plaza counts its seven *here*, which is why a here-scoped +1 answers it completely — and this body is at the BASE, which is the one place that grant cannot follow it. The reason no earlier notable said so is structural rather than careless: the Ivern notables were written about the base-reaching threats and the Plaza notables about the here-scoped one, and nobody put the two halves in the same sentence.
- 7 ENERGY ANSWERS THE GARRISON THIS LINE NEEDS. OGN-123 Unchecked Power is mind, 7 Energy + 2 Power: "Exhaust all friendly units, then deal 12 to ALL units at battlefields.". 143.2.a kills on marked damage at or above Might, so it kills every body at or below Might 12 SIMULTANEOUSLY however many there are: the binding constraint is MIGHT PER BODY, not the number of bodies, so going wider answers nothing. IT IS SYMMETRIC, WHICH IS HALF THE PRICE AND THE QUOTED TEXT SAYS SO: it sweeps ALL units at battlefields, the caster's included. Against a deck with a board of its own it is a two-sided trade and they may not want it; against one playing from hand it is free. Read the matchup, not the Energy. A CHEAPER ANSWER EXISTS AND IT IS NOT AVAILABLE TO EVERY OPPONENT: OGN-268 Bullet Time costs 1 Energy + 6 Power here (it pays per point of damage, so it scales to any garrison) and is [Action], so 806.1.c.1 puts it inside any showdown on any player's turn - but it is a SIGNATURE card tagged Miss Fortune, and 103.2.d.2 requires every Signature card to carry the Chosen Champion Legend's tag, so only a Miss Fortune legend can run it. Count it as a matchup, not as the field. THE IDENTITY HOLDS NO ANSWER, and there are two ways that happens: either nothing with a permanent, garrison-wide +Might is legal beside this line under 103.1.b, or something is legal and cannot REACH - every such protection in the pool is +1 or +2, so against a sweep dealing 12 a garrison whose floor is 6 stays dead either way (143.2.a kills on damage at or above Might). This line cannot be protected against that answer and can only be rebuilt. WHEN THE ANSWER LANDS, AND IT IS NOT INSIDE THE HOLD. A Hold resolves at 315.2.b.2, which Holds "all Battlefields they Control", inside YOUR Beginning Phase - and 312.2.a gives a player priority only "When the turn is in a Neutral Open State during their Main Phase", i.e. their own. So the opponent cannot answer in the Hold window itself; they answer on THEIR turn, which is the turn immediately before it. The cost of that is yours, not theirs: your own Main Phase comes AFTER your Beginning Phase (315 then 316), so there is no window in which to rebuild the garrison. Holding up a [Reaction] on their turn is the only response this line has.
Steps
- EARLIER TURNS. Establish Control of Reckoner's Arena (190.1), which 190.6.d keeps switched off until you do. Play three Ivern, Friend to All (E6 each), choosing Bird, Cat and Dog as each enters, and a Daring Poro (E2) for the fourth tag. Play three Trinity Force (E4 each) and pay each [Equip] cost of one Body Power (818.1.b: 'Equip has a cost to activate and Attaches the card with Equip to a chosen Unit when the cost is paid'), one onto each Ivern. End a turn with all three Ivern standing at the Arena.
- AWAKEN (315.1.b) readies everything you control.
- BEGINNING PHASE, SCORING STEP (315.2.b.2): 'The Turn Player Holds all Battlefields they Control.' The Arena Scores. 471.1 gains one point - POINT 1 - and 470's once-per-battlefield cap is spent here and nowhere else.
- 471.2: 'Trigger Score abilities at the Battlefield that Scored.' Each Ivern's hold face goes on the Chain (383.4.d.2.a) with its four-tag condition met - POINTS 2, 3 AND 4 - and each Trinity Force carrier fires 'When I hold, score 1 point' - POINTS 5, 6 AND 7.
- The Arena's own 'When you hold here' is one of YOUR hold effects, because 190.6.a gives its Controller the ability and 190.6.d makes 'you' mean that Controller (R8 = A). It activates the conquer effects of units here: 383.4.g.1 checks each conquer effect's condition 'treating the conquer portion of the condition as having been fulfilled', Ivern's four tags are fulfilled, and all three conquer faces go on the Chain - POINTS 8, 9 AND 10.
- Ten points from a starting score of zero, all in one scoring event at one battlefield. 194.3 puts the Victory Score at 8, and 472 wins at the next Cleanup: 'When a cleanup occurs and a player has accrued Points greater than or equal to the Victory Score for their Mode of Play, and if they have more points than any opponent, they Win the Game.'
Per iteration
ten points in a single Hold, repeatable every turn the Arena and the three Ivern survive
How it ends
burst of ten points in ONE Hold at one battlefield, nine of them ability Gains that 470 does not cap, from a board costing 32 Energy and 3 Body Power (3 Ivern at E6, 3 Trinity Force at E4, 1 Daring Poro at E2, and one Body rune per [Equip])

The design question was 'Body/Order owns no trigger multiplier - what COLOURLESS multiplier can it reach, and what is the best payoff Body prints to feed it', which is a target-first question no card-adjacency search asks. A first attempt on VEN-138 Shen plus Trinity Force was REFUSED at seven points and is recorded in the walk; Shen's 'exactly one other unit you control here' makes his point and Ivern's mutually exclusive at one battlefield (383.2.a.1 puts the count in the Trigger Condition). Full walk done, hence verified: card text pasted verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; every paragraph opened in data/Riftbound-Core-Rules-2026-07-16.txt and quoted untruncated - 103.1.b, 103.2.b, 103.2.d.2, 103.4.c, 137.3, 143.4, 190.1, 190.6.a, 190.6.d, 194.1, 194.1.a, 194.1.c, 194.3, 315.1.b, 315.2.b.2, 383.2.a.1, 383.4.d.2.a, 383.4.g, 383.4.g.1, 434.1.c, 469, 470, 471.1, 471.1.a.1, 471.1.b, 471.2, 472, 485.4, 485.5, 486.5, 487.5, 718.2, 718.5.b, 721.2, 818.1, 818.1.b, 821.1.c, 821.1.c.6, 823.1.b, 823.1.c.1. Legality checked against data/legality.json, whose 21 rows contain exactly one non-banned entry (the 2v2 restriction on OGS-019): none of UNL-177, OGN-286, SFD-115, OGN-210, UNL-225 appears. Domain identity computed from data/cards.json: union is exactly {body, order}, and the five Body/Order legends were read out of cards.json rather than typed. Signature flags checked in cards.json: all four cards are false, so 103.2.d.2 fixes nothing. Arithmetic against the entry's own declared quantities: 1 + (2x3 + 3) x 1 = 10, with five neighbouring boards named in a notable. Trap check: no token, no [Temporary], no [Repeat], no Conquer (so 471.1.b never engages), no combat, no attack (so 807.1.d and the empty-battlefield trap never arise), no unruled reading except R2 and R8, both ruled A. Coverage checked with .scratch/have.mjs before writing: no entry uses this card set or a subset of it.
