Deck
- SFD-184 Relentless Pursuit is a SIGNATURE card tagged Lucian, so 103.2.d.2 forces a Lucian legend that also covers fury + body: SFD-183 Purifier — the only one. Domain-legal legends without the Lucian tag cannot run the list. (Rebuilt from the census by test/legend-lines.test.ts, 2026-09-07; an earlier line named legends that cannot hold a Lucian Signature card.)
Prerequisites
- Jhin ready at base with Warmog's on the board, one Relentless Pursuit and two Wallops in hand; the opponent controls both battlefields and has no units on them, so each first entry conquers without a fight.
- Walking in unopposed is not an instant conquer: it applies Contested and opens a non-combat showdown (344.2), and control — hence the Conquer — lands only when that showdown closes (190.4). That sequencing was filed as R20 and RETIRED on 2026-09-04 as settled by rules text: 344.2 opens a Showdown at the next Cleanup when Control is Contested and no units of different players are there, 348.2.a establishes Control at its close, and 348.2.a.1 says outright 'This results in a Conquer if that player has not yet scored that Battlefield this turn.' Standard Moves are illegal while it is open (144.1.c), so the moves are strictly serialised; Wallop is [Action] and is legal inside it, which is what lets the second buff exist.
- Only the first entry to each battlefield conquers (470). Later entries give control but no Warmog's buff and no Pursuit bounce.
- Jhin must survive each contested combat (4 Might, Deflect) if the opponent does garrison a battlefield.
- 745.2 IS WHY AN UNQUALIFIED "SPEND A BUFF" CAN ONLY TAKE ONE OFF YOUR OWN BOARD, AND THE 741-749 BLOCK WAS CITED BY NOTHING (upgrade 2026-09-12, #191 batch 26 - diagnosed five days earlier by #187 batch 2 and never applied). The cards that print this cost say *"spend a buff"* with NO owner stated, and none of them has ever had to, because the rules say it: **745.2** - *"In order to spend a Counter, the spending player must control the Game Object the Counter is placed on."* It is the general form of the 702.2.b.2 this project cites fourteen times, and its neighbours finish the picture: **749** (*"Counters do not have a controller"*) and **748** (*"Game Objects that change zones to a non-board zone lose all of their Counters"*), which is the real rule behind buff recovery rather than the 702.x usually cited. Measured consequence from the same walk: a change of CONTROL is not a zone change, so **a buff survives a theft and becomes the thief`s to spend** - the exact complement of 718.5.f, under which an Equipment`s Control does NOT follow its carrier while a buff`s spendability DOES.
- A BLOODLESS CONQUER IS NOT A FAIT ACCOMPLI, AND 46 OF THE 47 ENTRIES CITING 344.2 DID NOT SAY SO (added 2026-09-12, #187 batch 25). **316.8.b.1.a**: during a Non-Combat Showdown *"units controlled by a different player may become present at the Battlefield where the Showdown is"*, which converts it to a COMBAT Showdown in the following cleanup - so the opponent can turn your uncontested walk-in into a fight. 316.8.c is the permission (a Showdown is a Window of Opportunity for [Action] and [Reaction] cards). **The answer set is THREE CARDS, swept on the ACTOR rather than on the destination**: `OGN-173 Ride the Wind` (Chaos, E2+1), `OGN-262 Zenith Blade` (Calm/Order, E3+2) and `SFD-184 Relentless Pursuit` (Fury/Body, E2+1) - twelve printings move a friendly unit, and nine of them send it to base or need a body already there. They span three identities, so **no identity is safe**; and `OGN-262 Zenith Blade` is the worst to walk into, because it STUNS your body on the way in, and 423.1.b removes a stunned unit`s contribution to the damage step while 423.1.c keeps its full Might as the price to kill it - one 3-Energy card takes the unit and the battlefield. **[Ambush] is not a fourth answer**: 822.1.b needs a battlefield where the player already has units, and the defining feature of that board is that they have none there. **THE REMEDY IS A COUNTERSPELL, AND A FIRST VERSION OF THIS NOTABLE SAID SOMETHING FALSE THAT IS WITHDRAWN HERE (corrected within the hour, 2026-09-12).** It said that because all three answers are [Action] and 358.4 admits an Action card only as the card that CLOSES the state, the attacker - who holds Focus by 345 and priority by 335.1 - could shut them out by playing any cheap Action card first. Every step is true and the conclusion is false, because **a Showdown is a LOOP, not a single window**: 346 - *"When the last item on the chain resolves and the turn returns to an Open State during a Showdown, Focus passes, and the next Player gains both Focus and Priority"* - with 347.1.b and 347.2.a. Closing the state buys a lock-out lasting exactly that CHAIN; when it resolves the Showdown reopens, Focus passes TO THE DEFENDER, and they play their answer into an open Showdown after all. **The real sequence**: walk in, take Focus, **PASS** (acting first gains nothing); they play the answer, which closes the state as it is played; **you COUNTER it**, since 358.4`s other half now admits only [Reaction] and all eleven of the pool`s counters are Reaction, and 425.1.c refunds them nothing; all players then pass in sequence, 347.2.a ends the Showdown, and 348.2.a with 348.2.a.1 give you Control and the Conquer. The cheap counter is `OGN-045 Defy` (Calm, E1 + 1 Power, *"counter a spell that costs no more than 4 Energy and no more than one rainbow"*), which covers all three answers; `OGN-064 Wind Wall` is the unconditional one. **So the protection narrows to pairs containing CALM** - it is not the one-Energy insurance any deck can buy.
Steps
- Relentless Pursuit (2E+1P): move Jhin to enemy battlefield 1 (+1E +1P) and attach Warmog's free. The unopposed entry applies Contested and opens a non-combat showdown (344.2); when it closes, Jhin conquers (+1 point), Warmog's buffs him and the granted clause moves him back to base (+1E +1P). Both moves are effect moves, so he is still ready.
- Standard Move to enemy battlefield 2 (+1E +1P); this exhausts him (144.2) and opens the second showdown.
- Inside that showdown play Wallop, spending the Warmog's buff so the cost is ignored: ready Jhin. The showdown closes, Jhin conquers battlefield 2 (+1 point), Warmog's gives him a fresh buff because the first was spent (702.3 allows only one at a time), and the clause returns him to base (+1E +1P), ready.
- Standard Move back to battlefield 1 (+1E +1P). It was already scored, so there is no second conquer (470) and no bounce. The second Wallop in that showdown spends the second buff and readies him; Standard Move to base (+1E +1P) is the sixth and last move.
How it ends
engine — six moves in a turn: +6 Energy and +6 Power gross, net +4E +5P after Relentless Pursuit, plus the 2 points from the two conquers

First Fury/Body entry. Bounded by cards (Pursuit x3, one Wallop per buff, Reveler attacks) and by the two enemy battlefields of a Duel; it never closes because no repeatable free ready exists in Fury/Body — Dominus's '2 rainbow: Ready me' is a net-zero converter (L3-03), as are Upstage Comedy and Perfect Execution. The Twilight Reveler line in the first write-up does not work: the same empty battlefields that make the conquers free make a Combat impossible, so the Reveler never gains the Attacker designation (383.4.e, 461). The repaired six-move line casts a second Wallop inside the second showdown instead. Miss Fortune, Captain (OGN-162) still adds one ready on her first move each turn. Card text verified against the corpus. REFUTE 2 (2026-09-03): WOUNDED — step 4 was illegal (an Attack Trigger needs a Combat, and the empty battlefields that make the conquers free rule one out); re-authored with a second Wallop: +4E +5P net and 2 points for three cards. R20 RETIRED 2026-09-04 as settled by rules text: 344.2 opens a Showdown at the next Cleanup when a battlefield is Contested and there are NO units of different players there, 348.2.a establishes Control at its close, and 348.2.a.1 says outright "This results in a Conquer". The window is real too - 345 gives Focus to the player who applied Contested and 347.1 lets them play any legally timed card, which is what the second Wallop needs. HAND-WALKED 2026-09-04 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-04-jhin-pursuit-and-r20.md): six moves for +6E +6 rainbow gross, net +4 Energy +5 Power plus 2 points. The rule the entry only asserted is 383.4.c.2.a - a Conquer Effect fires for a Unit present when its controller gains control AND GAINS 1 VICTORY POINT - which is exactly why move 5 back into the already-scored battlefield gives no Warmog buff and no Pursuit bounce, and so why the engine stops at six.
