Double Trouble is two recycle EVENTS from one card — Karma counts events, so two small recycles beat one big one
Pieces
- Karma, Channeler ×1
OGN-235 · payoff · order
[Vision] (When you play me, look at the top card of your Main Deck. You may recycle it.) When you recycle one or more cards to your Main Deck, buff a friendly unit. (If it doesn't have a buff, it gets a +1 Might buff. Runes aren't cards.)
- Double Trouble ×1
UNL-032 · engine · calm
[Repeat] 2 Energy (You may pay the additional cost to repeat this spell's effect.) Look at the top 3 cards of your Main Deck. You may reveal a unit from among them and draw it. Recycle the rest.
- Soaring Scout ×1
OGN-216 · enabler · order
[Deathknell] — Channel 1 rune exhausted. (When I die, get the effect.)
Payoff
Deck
- Calm + Order, so four legend names (103.1.b.2): Radiant Dawn (OGN-261), Emperor of the Sands (SFD-197), Green Father (UNL-195), Eye of Twilight (VEN-147).
- Four Energy for both executions, and TWO friendly units without a buff — 702.3 means the second trigger is wasted on a board with one unbuffed body.
Run play
Prerequisites
- KARMA COUNTS EVENTS, NOT CARDS, AND THAT INVERTS THE OBVIOUS BUILD. Her text is 'When you recycle one or more cards to your Main Deck', so a single instruction that recycles three cards fires her ONCE. Double Trouble's [Repeat] gives a second, separate execution (820.1.b: 'to execute the effect of their spells and abilities a second time'), and each execution ends in its own 'Recycle the rest' — two instructions, two events, TWO buffs. A deck built for Karma wants many small recycles, not one big one, which is the opposite of what a deck-manipulation package usually wants.
- AND THE SECOND BUFF NEEDS A SECOND BODY. 702.3: 'There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time', 702.3.a: a second is not placed. So the two triggers are worth two buffs only if two friendly units are unbuffed when they resolve. This is where the entry's arithmetic actually lives — the payoff is min(triggers, new unbuffed bodies), and the [Repeat] raises the first half only.
- IT IS ALSO THE DIGGING, WHICH IS WHY IT IS NOT PURE FILLER. Each execution looks at three and may draw a unit from among them, so 4 Energy buys up to two units out of the top six cards AND two buffs. 431.1.c protects the look at an empty deck ('looks at or Reveals as many as possible, but does not Burn Out'), and drawing the revealed unit is a draw from the looked-at cards, so 431.1.c.1 covers the zone change too.
- 416.5 is worth stating so nobody prices this as deck-stacking: 'If 2 or more cards are Recycled to the Main Deck simultaneously, they are placed on the bottom of that deck in a random order.' You choose what to keep, never what order the rest come back in.
- 820.1.c.1 makes the [Repeat] cost 'an Additional Cost to be paid during the steps of playing the spell', so all 4 Energy is SPENT — which is invisible to a 'costs N or more' clause (206) and counts in full for a 'spent N or more' one, including UNL-211 Forgotten Library if it is also on the table.
- A rune recycle is not a card recycle: Karma's own printed reminder says 'Runes aren't cards' and 161.2.b sends them to the Rune Deck, so this spell's recycles are the only ones on the table that count.
- 424.1.a.2 is the MECHANISM under the 431.1.c protection this entry already cites, and the entry carries the consequence without it: "Cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from." Riot's own example is that a card Revealed from the top of the Main Deck "is still the top card of that player's Main Deck." So revealing can never Burn Out because NOTHING LEAVES THE DECK, which 424.1.a states as the general fact: "Revealed is a temporary state and is not a zone." Same shape this file records for 355.7 against 355.10.d and 811.6 against the tail of 811.1.b.
Steps
- Play Karma, Channeler (6 Energy + 1 Order Power) and have a second friendly unit without a buff.
- Cast Double Trouble for 2 Energy and pay its [Repeat] cost of 2 more (820.1.c.1).
- First execution: look at the top 3, optionally reveal a unit and draw it, recycle the rest (416.1.a, 416.5 — random order to the bottom).
- Karma's trigger fires once for that instruction: buff a friendly unit without a buff.
- Second execution: look at the next 3, optionally draw a unit, recycle the rest.
- Karma fires again: buff the SECOND unbuffed friendly unit (702.3 forbids stacking on the first).
Per iteration
-1 card, -4 Energy, up to +2 cards, two +1 Might buffs on two different bodies
How it ends
engine — up to two units drawn out of the top six cards and two +1 Might buffs for one card and 4 Energy, three times a game (103.2.b); nothing here scores

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #169, second pass over matrix row 18. UNL-032 Double Trouble was in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.2, 103.2.b, 161.2.b, 206, 416.1.a, 416.5, 431.1.c, 431.1.c.1, 702.3, 702.3.a, 820.1.b, 820.1.c.1 opened in the Core Rules file. Both cards legal in both formats; neither is Signature. Card set OGN-235 + UNL-032 is not an existing uses[] set. No unruled reading. The per-EVENT counting is the same shape as jinx-rebel-discard-event-ready on the discard side, reached independently on the recycle side; both come from a 'one or more' wording.
