Payoff
Deck
- Mono-Order: any legend whose Domain Identity covers Order (103.1.b).
Prerequisites
- Net per Broker: −2 Energy, −1 Order Power, +3 rainbow Power = −2 Energy, +2 Power. Three Brokers in one Main Phase is −6 Energy, +6 Power. One Karthus makes it +1 Power; zero Karthus makes it 0 and there is no entry.
- The Gold's Power pays the Blade's own Order cost, so the Blade self-finances after one seed Power: 135.2.e.5.b — 'When Added to a player's Rune Pool, [A] can be spent to pay a Power cost of any Domain' — and 163.2.b says the same of Universal Power.
- NO PER-EVENT CAP, and that is the whole point against the catalogue. yeti-brambleback-renata-gold gives 6 Power but only once per battlefield per turn (466.5.d, 470); treasure-hunter-industrialist-gold gives one Gold per move. This one is capped only by Broker copies and by the seed Power.
- The setup is heavy and the issue did not price it: Blade E3+1P, Renata E4+1P, two Karthus E3+1P each = 13 Energy and 4 Power of permanents before the first Broker, against a 12-card Rune Deck (103.3.a). It is a multi-turn build.
- 167 empties the Rune Pool at the start of each Main Phase and the end of each turn, so all six Power must be spent inside the turn that made it.
- Rider, deliberately NOT in uses because a discount is not the mechanism (the lesson from #32): with SFD-201 Chem-Baroness as the legend (Mind/Order), 'While your score is within 3 points of the Victory Score, your Gold [Add] an additional 1 Energy' turns each Broker Energy-positive from 5 points on.
Steps
- Board: Blade of the Ruined King, two Karthus, Renata Glasc Industrialist. Hold one Order Power as the seed.
- Play Honest Broker (2 Energy).
- Activate the Blade's [Equip] (1 Order Power), attaching to a body that is NOT the Broker, and pay the non-resource half of the cost by killing the Broker (818.1.c.3, 428.1.a.1).
- The Broker's Deathknell goes on the chain before he reaches the trash (428.1.a.1.b) and runs three times: three Gold tokens.
- Renata makes them enter ready, so each can pay 'Kill this, exhaust: [Add] 1 rainbow Power' (813.1.b lets the Reaction ability be used in your Main Phase). Three Power.
- Repeat with the next Broker; the Power just added pays the next Blade activation.
Per iteration
−2 Energy, +2 Power per Honest Broker, with no cap on how many times per turn the Blade may be activated
How it ends
engine — up to +6 Power for 6 Energy in one Main Phase with three Brokers; bounded by Broker copies (103.2.b) and by 167 emptying the pool at end of turn

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-05 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-05-death-and-return-candidates.md), issue #36. CITATION CORRECTED AGAINST THE ISSUE: #36 rested the 'no per-turn cap' on 818.4, but 818.4 is about a gear that prints MULTIPLE Equip instances, not about repeating one. The rule that says what the entry needs is 377 ('Activated Abilities are repeatable effects with a cost') plus 378, and the Blade's printed cost carrying no exhaust. NOT INFINITE, and the walk closed the only case that could have been: with Chem-Baroness the pass turns Energy-positive, but feeding it needs UNL-168 Undying Loyalty to replay the Broker, which costs a CARD per pass for +1 Energy and +1 Power and never recycles itself — at the #21 ledger's rate that is break-even at best, and the nine Order trash-recursion cards were read one by one (five are [Flow], banished for good by 829.1.b.1; four are once per copy). Trap check: no attack; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no recall; no rune recycled for Power — the Power comes from Gold tokens, not from 161.2.b. Shares its Karthus + Blade skeleton with karthus-sacred-shears-blade-draw (cards), karthus-glasc-mixologist-double-reanimate (bodies) and karthus-machine-evangel-renata-plaza (the win); the payoffs are different resources, which is why they are four entries.
