815.3 is what lets the Kinkou Temple see a keyword that ARRIVED BY GRANT - Yuumi's [Tank] is worth +4 Might there, not +3, and 801.3.a.2 is why it lasts exactly one turn

Deck
- Yuumi and Whiteflame Protector are both mono-Calm and the Kinkou Temple is Colorless, so 103.1.b needs only a legend carrying Calm. Measured over data/cards.json on 2026-09-12 that is sixteen legend NAMES: Nine-Tailed Fox, Blind Monk, Unforgiven, Radiant Dawn, Wuju Bladesman - Starter, Fire Below the Mountain, Grandmaster at Arms, Blade Dancer, Emperor of the Sands, Bashful Bloom, Wuju Master, Gloomist, Green Father, Rogue Assassin, Curator of the Sands and Eye of Twilight. One of those, the Wuju Bladesman starter legend, is the single restricted row in data/legality.json (2v2 only) - legal here, but capped in that format.
- None of the three cards is a Signature card (checked against data/cards.json) and none appears in data/legality.json in any format - checked 2026-09-12.
- 485.4.a has each player provide three battlefields and 485.5 selects RANDOMLY, so the Temple is not certain to be on the table, and 103.4.c forbids a second copy of the name to raise the odds. State it per format.
- Both bodies must stand at the Temple. Yuumi needs a friendly unit 'here' to have anything to give, and the Temple pays only 'units here'.
Prerequisites
- THE RULE, AND IT IS THE ONLY REASON THE PAIR WORKS. 815.3: 'Tank, and whether or not a unit has Tank, is a characteristic of the Unit and may be checked or referenced by other Game Effects.' Without it there is no basis for the Temple to read a keyword that was not printed on the card. 815.3 is cited by no entry and no synergy rule in this project (measured 2026-09-12), while its neighbour 815.2 is cited 25 times - so the catalogue has the Tank CAP and has never had the Tank READER.
- THE DURATION IS THE OTHER HALF, AND THE POOL PRINTS BOTH CASES. 801.3.a.2: 'The effect that granted the Keyword will specify the duration for which it is granted.' Yuumi's grant says 'this turn', so 317.2.c ends it - 'Insert "3d. All \'this turn\' effects expire simultaneously."' - and the wall is rebuilt from scratch in the next combat she is in. That is the exact contrast with black-flame-altar-sprite-call-temporary-shield, where the grant names NO duration and 801.3.a.3 makes it last 'as long as that Game Object remains on the Board'. Read the grant's own wording before pricing any granted keyword; the two paragraphs sit one line apart and give opposite answers.
- THE ARITHMETIC, WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. Whiteflame Protector enters at Might 8 and its own play trigger gives a unit +8 this turn - name itself, and it is 16. Yuumi's attack-or-defend trigger adds +3 and [Tank]: 19. The Temple then sees the granted keyword under 815.3 and adds its +1: TWENTY. Every number in that sum is a continuous modifier or a static, not a 702 buff counter, so 702.3's one-per-unit cap never touches any of it.
- AND TWENTY IS NOT A BIGGER BODY, IT IS A BLOCKED COMBAT. 815.1.b is functionally 'I must be assigned lethal damage before any other unit with the same controller as me that does not have [Tank] during the Combat Damage step', 815.1.c.2 makes every non-Tank body of yours an INVALID assignment until it has lethal, and 465.2.c.4 forbids assigning any unit more than the minimum lethal. So an attack whose summed Might is under 20 kills NOTHING at the Temple - not the Tank, and not Yuumi at Might 1 standing beside it. The wall is priced in the attacker's total, not in trades.
- 815.2 IS THE CAP AND IT NAMES THE CARDS YUUMI MUST NOT AIM AT. 'Multiple instances of Tank are redundant.' A body that already prints the keyword gains only the +3 from Yuumi and was already collecting the Temple's +1, so the marginal value of pointing her at it is 1 Might rather than 4. In this domain that means UNL-057 Alpha Wildclaw, whose Tank is printed, and the token units under UNL-058 Lillia, Protector of Dreams, whose Tank is a static grant - which is why this entry is a different board from kinkou-temple-lillia-bird-tank-wall and not an upgrade to it.
- THE ONE CASE WHERE A SECOND TANK IS NOT REDUNDANT IS A SECOND BODY. 815.1.c.2's first sentence - 'If more than one unit with Tank is present with the same controller in Combat, damage may be assigned to any of them' - with its second, means two Tank BODIES double the toll even though a second Tank GRANT on one body does nothing: the attacker chooses the order and must finish both before anything else becomes a legal assignment. So the upgrade path here is another body with Tank, never another source of Tank.
- THE OPPONENT IS PAID TOO, AND THAT IS A REAL COST. The Temple says 'Units here with [Tank] have +1 :rb_might:' with no 'you' anywhere in it, which is exactly why 190.6.d cannot blank it while it is uncontrolled - and exactly why an enemy Tank body standing there is also +1. Against a deck with no Tank at all the Temple is a one-sided static; against another Calm or Body list it is not, and VEN-004 Dune Surfer ('You ignore [Tank] while assigning combat damage here') is the pool's only answer to the whole wall - 767 makes that ignore one-way and scoped, so it switches YOUR wall off without switching theirs off.
- ONE ENERGY KILLS THE ENGINE AND THE ENTRY DID NOT SAY SO (added by the #203 cross-audit). Yuumi is printed Might 1 and has to STAND at the Temple for either clause to reach anything - hers reads 'one of your other units here' and the Temple's reads 'units here'. The Temple pays +1 Might only to units WITH [Tank], and Yuumi grants the keyword to another body and never carries it herself, so the +1 never reaches her - which is the part that reads backwards at a glance. She therefore stands at a battlefield at Might 1, and 143.2.a kills on marked damage equal to Might: `OGN-133 Flurry of Blades` (Body, E1, [Reaction], 'Deal 1 to all units at battlefields') answers this E3 + 1 Calm Power engine and the E8 + 2 Calm Power payoff behind it for one Energy, at Reaction speed, on either player's turn. The wall is rebuilt per combat, so losing Yuumi is losing the line rather than a tempo hit, and no card in this entry's identity answers the sweep - `UNL-077 Soul Shepherd` is Mind and the Temple's own +1 is Tank-gated.
- WHY THE COMPANION IS IN uses[] AT ALL. Yuumi's Trigger Condition is 'give one of your other units here', and 383.2.a.1 makes that part of the condition - a lone Yuumi places nothing on the Chain. A body the condition requires is a use, not a phrase in a notable; this catalogue has shipped that mistake before and two tests now pin it.
Steps
- Have VEN-159 Kinkou Temple on the table and control it. Its own text works uncontrolled (it names no player), but 355.2.a needs you to control it to play bodies there.
- Play UNL-056 Yuumi, Magical Cat to the Temple: 3 Energy and 1 Calm Power for a Might 1 body.
- Play OGN-082 Whiteflame Protector to the Temple: 8 Energy and 2 Calm Power. Its play trigger gives a unit +8 Might this turn - name Whiteflame itself. It is now Might 16.
- Wait for a combat at the Temple. Yuumi's trigger is 'when I attack or defend', so either side may open it; 464.2.c.3 designates the attackers and defenders and places her trigger there.
- Yuumi's trigger resolves: Whiteflame gets +3 Might and [Tank] this turn. Might 19.
- 815.3 lets the Temple read that granted keyword, so its static applies: Might 20.
- The attacker must now assign 20 lethal damage to Whiteflame before any other unit you control is a legal assignment (815.1.b, 815.1.c.2), and 465.2.c.4 forbids over-assigning it. An attack summing under 20 kills nothing of yours at the Temple.
- At step 3d of the end-of-turn cleanup, 317.2.c expires both 'this turn' effects and the granted Tank with them (801.3.a.2). Whiteflame is back to Might 8 and the Temple stops paying it.
- Do not aim Yuumi at a body that already has Tank - 815.2 makes the keyword half redundant and the marginal value drops from 4 Might to 3. Add a second Tank BODY instead (815.1.c.2).
- Three copies of each unit (103.2.b), one Temple per game (103.4.c). Nothing here loops and nothing here scores; it protects a Hold rather than making one.
Per iteration
one combat in which an attack summing under 20 Might kills nothing of yours at the Temple, rebuilt each turn because the grant says 'this turn'
How it ends
engine only - nothing here scores. The wall is rebuilt once per combat Yuumi is in and expires at step 3d of every end-of-turn cleanup (317.2.c, 801.3.a.2); 815.2 caps the Tank at one instance per body, so the only upgrade is a second Tank body
