Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains cover Calm and Body — Lee Sin is Calm and Mistfall, Wallop and Fae Dragon are Body, so 103.1.b forces a Calm/Body legend: OGN-257 Blind Monk, UNL-191 Wuju Master or SFD-193 Grandmaster at Arms. Blind Monk is the one that also makes a buff every turn.
Prerequisites
- Everything rides on one body. 705: 'If a Unit leaves play, remove all Buffs from it.' Killing Lee Sin (5 Might, and [Shield] only while he defends) erases the whole bank at once. This is the structural weakness of the line and must not be softened.
- Mistfall exhausts, so it is one extra ready per turn at 1 Body Power — a Power-to-ready converter, not a loop.
- The bank grows by the NUMBER of buffing effects, not by the size of each: 702.3 allows one buff per unit and 702.3.a says a second is simply 'not placed instead', so an effect that buffs four units still puts exactly one counter on Lee Sin.
- 103.2.b caps Wallop at 3 copies per deck.
- Measured with the entry's own quantities (1 Lee Sin, 1 Mistfall, 1 Blind Monk), the best ordering banks THREE buffs per turn for 1 Body Power and 1 Energy: Lee Sin exhausts (buff 1) -> Mistfall pays 1 Body Power and readies him -> Lee Sin exhausts again (buff 2) -> Blind Monk pays 1 Energy (buff 3). Order matters: spending Mistfall on Blind Monk's buff instead wastes it, because Lee Sin is already ready by then.
- Blind Monk's reminder text reads '(If it doesn't have a buff, it gets a +1 Might buff)', which looks like it refuses an already-buffed Lee Sin. It does not, and this needed no new rules reading: the reminder is 702.3.a restated, and 426.1.b.2 says an effect granting permission to be Buffed multiple times 'ignores this restriction'. Lee Sin's printed line is that permission.
- 745.2 IS WHY AN UNQUALIFIED "SPEND A BUFF" CAN ONLY TAKE ONE OFF YOUR OWN BOARD, AND THE 741-749 BLOCK WAS CITED BY NOTHING (upgrade 2026-09-12, #191 batch 26 - diagnosed five days earlier by #187 batch 2 and never applied). The cards that print this cost say *"spend a buff"* with NO owner stated, and none of them has ever had to, because the rules say it: **745.2** - *"In order to spend a Counter, the spending player must control the Game Object the Counter is placed on."* It is the general form of the 702.2.b.2 this project cites fourteen times, and its neighbours finish the picture: **749** (*"Counters do not have a controller"*) and **748** (*"Game Objects that change zones to a non-board zone lose all of their Counters"*), which is the real rule behind buff recovery rather than the 702.x usually cited. Measured consequence from the same walk: a change of CONTROL is not a zone change, so **a buff survives a theft and becomes the thief`s to spend** - the exact complement of 718.5.f, under which an Equipment`s Control does NOT follow its carrier while a buff`s spendability DOES.
Steps
- Lee Sin on the board. Exhaust him: 'Buff me' — buff 1. His printed 'I can have any number of buffs' is the permission 426.1.b.2 contemplates ('Some effects may grant a Game Object permission to be Buffed multiple times'), and it is the only one in the pool.
- Mistfall sees that buff: pay 1 Body Power, exhaust Mistfall, ready Lee Sin. It does not consume the buff — 702.2.b defines spending a buff as removing a counter, and Mistfall never says to.
- Exhaust Lee Sin again for buff 2. Blind Monk (1 Energy, exhaust) adds buff 3. Any further 'buff a friendly unit' effect in the deck adds one more.
- Cash the bank: each buff spent is a Wallop for 0 Energy and 0 Power (a free ready), or 1 Body Power off OGN-150 Kraken Hunter, or — with SFD-101 Fae Dragon on the board — an extra Gold gear token, since its 'When you spend a buff' carries no once-per-turn clause.
How it ends
engine — one banked buff per buffing effect per turn, each cashable as a free ready, a Power discount or a Gold; no loop, because the ready side of the cycle costs a buff that has to come from somewhere else

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-04 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-04-nine-domain-lens-candidates.md), issue #29. All four texts verified verbatim against data/corpus_flat.txt on 2026-09-04, and 702.3, 702.3.a, 426.1.b.2, 703, 704.1 and 705 verified against the Core Rules. The finding is that 702.3 makes buffs a resource you CANNOT stockpile anywhere in the game except on OGN-078 — a pool sweep for 'any number of buffs / another buff / additional buff' returns that one card. Must NOT be labelled INFINITE: L8's own B7 shows the return half of the cycle is not printed — 'ready on buff' exists (Mistfall) but 'buff on ready' does not, and +1 Might this turn is not a buff, because 702 makes a buff a counter and 426.2.a only allows buffing when a Game Effect says so. Trap check: no attack trigger; no [Temporary]; the only rune recycled is the explicit Body Power Mistfall charges; buffs are counters and 704.1 says counters are not targeted, so [Deflect] does not stop them. WALK: holds as written. The uniqueness claim survived an independent sweep — OGN-078 is the only card in the pool with permission to hold more than one buff, and UNL-T04 Buff prints the restriction it overrides. The bank was measured at three buffs per turn for 1 Power + 1 Energy with the entry's own quantities. One reading looked new (does Blind Monk's reminder refuse an already-buffed unit?) and 426.1.b.2 answered it outright, so nothing was filed.
