Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Hold Lilting Lullaby and two runes through the opponent's turn. Do not spend either.
  2. When they play the removal spell aimed at the Hold board, the Chain Item puts the turn in a Neutral Closed State (310.2) and 312.2.c/d give you priority.
  3. Exhaust both runes for 2 Energy (164.2.a), then recycle both for 2 Power (164.2.b, 164.2.b.1) and play Lilting Lullaby as a [Reaction] (813.1.c.1).
  4. The spell is countered and its controller plays no more spells for the rest of that turn.
  5. The board survives to your Beginning Phase, where the escorted entry Holds. If they respond to that trigger, the same card works there - and on a winning turn the two runes cost nothing, because 319.5 plus 194.2 end the game before 167 / 316.3 would empty the pool.

How it ends

engine only - one enemy spell countered and the rest of that turn spell-less; it protects a scoring turn, it does not create one

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-denial-lens-candidates.md), issue #100 candidate 3, HELD. Separate entry rather than a card added to ahri-blue-sentinel-hold or svellsongur-copy-hold, for the reason brynhir-lockout-window records: putting an escort into another entry's uses[] would make the matcher demand a card the burst does not need to run, and no quantity of either BURST was touched (test/matcher.test.ts pins those). The uniqueness claim was checked by reading all 14 'counter' lines of the corpus, not by memory - CLAUDE.md's rule after a grep that swallowed an adjective published a false 'the ONLY card that...' inside a verified entry. The list of what leaks through is measured: 10 [Reaction][>] abilities (the loose grep gives 11 because UNL-031 Combat Experience is a [Reaction] SPELL with a [Level 6][>] clause) and at least ten permanents with a cost-then-kill activated ability. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Ban check: UNL-190 is not among the 12 [BANNED] corpus lines nor in data/legality.json.
