Combo · ENGINE
One rainbow, paid once, doubles every Monster Harpoon — and cashing the hidden card is what switches it off
Pieces
- Monster Harpoon ×1
UNL-014 · payoff · fury
[Action] (Play on your turn or in showdowns.) Deal 2 to a unit at a battlefield. If you control a facedown card, deal 4 to it instead.

[Hidden] (Hide now for 1 Power of any domain to react with later for 0 Energy.) Friendly units enter ready this turn. Play a Gold gear token exhausted.
Payoff
Deck
- Any legend with Fury among its two domains (103.1.b.3) — 16 names: Daughter of the Void (OGN-247), Relentless Storm (OGN-249), Loose Cannon (OGN-251), Hand of Noxus (OGN-253), Dark Child - Starter (OGS-017), Mechanized Menace (SFD-181), Purifier (SFD-183), Glorious Executioner (SFD-185), Void Burrower (SFD-187), Virtuoso (UNL-181), Pridestalker (UNL-183), Bloodharbor Ripper (UNL-185), Piltover Enforcer (UNL-187), Rogue Assassin (VEN-139), Butcher of the Sands (VEN-141), Master of Shadows (VEN-143).
- A battlefield you control with no facedown card already on it (811.1.b), and the discipline to LEAVE the card there.
Prerequisites
- THE ENABLER IS A STATE, NOT AN EVENT, WHICH IS UNUSUAL IN THIS FAMILY. Every other [Hidden] payoff in the catalogue fires on the hide or on the face-down PLAY; the Harpoon reads 'if you control a facedown card'. 811.1.b hides a card 'at a battlefield you control that doesn't already have a facedown card hidden there for as long as you control that battlefield' — so one rainbow, paid once, doubles every Harpoon you cast for the rest of the game, and the hidden card is never spent.
- AND CASHING IT IS THE COST. Play the hidden card and the Harpoon drops back to 2 damage until you hide another. That is the whole tension of the pair, and it is why `SFD-004 Bushwhack` is the right card to leave face down: its effect ('Friendly units enter ready this turn') is a one-shot tempo burst you were always going to hold for a committing turn, so the turn you cash it is a turn you were spending anyway.
- 811.1.b ALSO CAPS IT, WHICH IS WHY A SECOND HIDDEN CARD BUYS NOTHING HERE. One facedown per battlefield you control, and 485.4 puts two battlefields on a Duel table — but the Harpoon asks only whether you control ONE. The second facedown card is worth exactly its own effect and not a point of damage.
- FOUR DAMAGE FOR 1 ENERGY AND 1 FURY POWER, AT SHOWDOWN SPEED. 806.1.b puts [Action] inside Showdowns on either player's turn, and 143.2.a kills at Might, so this clears any body up to 4 in the middle of a combat. Three copies (103.2.b) is three such shots off one hide.
- The clause is 'you control a facedown card', not 'at this battlefield', so the hidden card and the Harpoon's target need not be in the same place — unlike the play effects of a hidden card, which 811.1.d.2 pins to the battlefield it was hidden at. This is the Harpoon's own text reading the board, so nothing in 811.1.d touches it.
- The one way to lose the enabler without spending it is to lose the battlefield: 811.1.b's 'for as long as you control that battlefield' means an evacuation or a lost combat takes the facedown card with it, and 466.5.c removes hidden cards that do not share a controller with the battlefield.
Bodies no card supplies
On your turn, pay 1 rainbow to hide Bushwhack face down at a battlefield you control (811.1.b)
Steps
- On your turn, pay 1 rainbow to hide Bushwhack face down at a battlefield you control (811.1.b).
- Leave it there. You now permanently 'control a facedown card'.
- Cast Monster Harpoon for 1 Energy + 1 Fury Power, on your turn or inside a Showdown on theirs (806.1.b).
- Its condition is met, so it deals 4 instead of 2 — enough to kill any body up to 4 Might (143.2.a).
- Repeat with the other copies. The hidden card is not consumed.
- Cash Bushwhack only on a turn you are committing anyway; from then the Harpoon deals 2 until you hide another card.
Per iteration
-1 card, -1 Energy -1 Fury Power, 4 damage to one unit at a battlefield
How it ends
engine — 4 damage for 1 Energy and 1 Fury Power, as many times as you have Harpoons, off a single rainbow paid once; nothing here scores

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #173. UNL-014 Monster Harpoon and SFD-004 Bushwhack were both in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 143.2.a, 466.5.c, 485.4, 806.1.b, 811.1.b, 811.1.d.2 opened in the Core Rules file. Both cards legal in both formats; neither is Signature. No unruled reading. The finding is the shape of the enabler: the [Hidden] family in this catalogue is written around the hide EVENT and the face-down PLAY, and this is the one card that reads the resulting STATE — which makes the hidden card an asset you deliberately never spend.
