[Ganking] (I can move from battlefield to battlefield.) As you look at or reveal me from the top of your deck, you may banish me. If you do, you may play me for 1 Power of any domain.

Deck
- Mono-Chaos: any Chaos legend.
Prerequisites
- IT IS A LOTTERY WITH MANY TICKETS, NOT A MOTOR, and the class is ENGINE for that reason. Stacked Deck looks at 3 cards of a 40-card Main Deck (103.2.a). Three Stacked Decks and three Nocturnes give a real hit rate over a game, not a plan for turn one - the source's 'two Nocturnes turn one' is the tail of the distribution, and he says 'unless you get unlucky' in the same breath.
- LIGHTNING RUSH (VEN-156) IS DELIBERATELY NOT AN INGREDIENT. It looks at the top 3 as well and would be a second enabler, but it is Order/Chaos, so 103.1.b would force the identity to Order + Chaos and the pool holds exactly ONE such legend, VEN-155 Heart of the Tempest. Stacked Deck alone keeps the shell mono-Chaos under any Chaos legend, which is worth more than a fourth looker.
- THE DOWNSIDE IS PRINTED. Nocturne drawn normally is a 4 Energy + 1 Power body with [Ganking] and nothing else, which the source calls a brick. Every copy you add to raise the hit rate is a copy you can draw badly.
- THE TRIGGER IS ON 'LOOK AT OR REVEAL', so anything that looks works: Stacked Deck, Lightning Rush, a Seal's look, Bait and Hook. It is not restricted to draws, and that is the whole reason the family exists.
- Both the banish and the play are 'you may' — nothing is forced, so a Nocturne seen with no rainbow Power available simply stays in the deck order Stacked Deck sets.
- THIS ENTRY CALLED THE CLAUSE A TRIGGER TWICE AND IT IS A REPLACEMENT EFFECT (corrected 2026-09-12, #187 batch 5). `OGN-194 Nocturne`s *"As you look at or reveal me"* is governed by 370.1.b.1, whose own worked example is `SFD-175 Undertitan`: *"the described event is replaced by that same event plus the game action being performed"*, with 371.2 making the *"you may"* legal. The entry cited no paragraph at all for it - its whole rule set was 103.1.b, 103.2.a, 103.2.b and 416.1. The distinction is not pedantry: a replacement creates **no Chain Item**, so there is no window between the look and the body arriving; and it is **invisible to every trigger multiplier in the pool**, which is exactly the kind of upgrade a reader would otherwise go looking for.
- WHY AN ABILITY ON A CARD NOBODY HAS PLAYED WORKS AT ALL, WHICH THIS FAMILY CITED FOR NEITHER (upgrade 2026-09-12, #187 batch 15). Every entry in the Undertitan/Nocturne family cites 370.1.b.1, which says what KIND of ability it is and nothing about why it is active in the Main Deck. Three paragraphs answer that: **365.1 is the DEFAULT that would kill the family** - *"Passive Abilities of Permanents are typically only active while on the Board"*; **366.1 is the OVERRIDE** - *"Passive Abilities of cards in zones that are outside of the Board will self-describe their context"* - which was cited by TWO entries out of 762, neither of them here; and **368.1** - *"Passive Abilities can be Replacement Effects"* - had ZERO citations anywhere and is the hinge, because it is what makes 366.1 rather than 385.1 the applicable block. This project carries 385.1 and 385.2, the TRIGGERED-outside-the-board pair, at 16 and 42 citations and had never had the passive counterpart, so a reader reaches for 385 and gets the wrong block. **424.1.a.2** completes it - cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from, with Riot naming the top of the Main Deck - which is why the self-described context is satisfied at the instant the passive fires.
- 370.3 IS THE NARROWEST AND MOST ON-POINT PARAGRAPH FOR THIS CARD AND IT WAS MISSING FROM THE WHOLE FAMILY (self-audit upgrade 2026-09-12, #187 batch 20). The earlier pass prescribed 365.1, 366.1, 368.1 and 424.1.a.2, which are about PASSIVE ABILITIES IN GENERAL. **370.3 is about REPLACEMENT EFFECTS AND ZONES SPECIFICALLY**: *"If a Game Object has a Replacement Effect that is active in a specific zone, it is evaluated and subsequently applied if it enters that zone before an event occurs that it could replace."* Measured on 2026-09-12 it was cited by **exactly ONE entry in 762** and by none of this family. 366.1 says a passive outside the board self-describes its context; 370.3 says a replacement effect can be ACTIVE IN A ZONE and is applied if the object entered that zone first - and for a card sitting in the Main Deck since the game began that timing half is free, **which is exactly why it is easy to leave out** and why its worked example is the case where the half BITES.
Steps
- Play Stacked Deck for 1 Energy: look at the top 3 of your Main Deck.
- If Nocturne is among them, his trigger applies as you look: banish him.
- Play him from banishment for 1 rainbow Power — a 4 Might [Ganking] body instead of 4 Energy + 1 Power.
- Put one of the remaining two into hand and recycle the other (416.1: to the bottom of the Main Deck).
How it ends
engine only — a discounted body when the look hits; nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue46-mining-walk.md), issue #46 section 3. Two changes from the candidate as filed. Lightning Rush was demoted to optional at quantity 0: it is Order/Chaos and would chain the deck to VEN-155 Heart of the Tempest, the pool's only chaos/order legend, while Stacked Deck alone keeps the shell mono-Chaos under any Chaos legend. And the class is held at ENGINE against the source's enthusiasm, because the mechanism is probabilistic - it is the first entry in the catalogue whose output is a hit rate rather than a quantity, and the entry says so instead of hiding it.
