VEN-019 · payoff · fury
[Accelerate] (You may pay 1 Energy + 1 Fury Power as an additional cost to have me enter ready.) When I attack, if you control 4 or fewer runes, deal 2 to all enemy units here.

If you control fewer runes than an opponent at the start of your Beginning Phase, give me +2 Might and [Ganking] this turn. (I can move from battlefield to battlefield.)
Payoff
Deck
- All three mono-Fury (103.1.b.3), so any legend carrying Fury runs them.
- Enough runes on the board at the start of the Main Phase to pay for the turn — the dump comes after the spending, not before.
Prerequisites
- THE FINDING: the '4 or fewer runes' clauses are not a deckbuilding constraint, they are a timing choice inside your own turn. 164.2.b is 'Recycle this: [Reaction] — Add [C]' with no exhaust in its cost, so an already-tapped rune still recycles, and 161.2.b sends it to the Rune Deck — off the board. So you tap ten runes for E10, spend the Energy, then recycle six of them for 6 Power and are at four runes with the Power still in your pool. Both payoffs then read four.
- The two clauses in the six-card family are NOT interchangeable. 'If you control fewer runes than an opponent at the start of your Beginning Phase' (VEN-005 Forsaken Baccai, VEN-006 Oasis Raider) is checked at 315.2.a, before the Channel Phase channels 2 more at 315.3.b — so it reads a board you cannot adjust that turn, and it is a state you must already be in. 'If you control 4 or fewer runes' (VEN-001 Baccai Sandspinner's Empower discount, VEN-016 Eclipse Dragon, VEN-019 Renekton Rage Fueled, VEN-162 Protective Sands) is checked when its own trigger resolves, in the Main Phase, and that IS adjustable.
- The whole family is six base codes, swept: VEN-001, VEN-005, VEN-006, VEN-016, VEN-019 and the battlefield VEN-162. Five are Fury; VEN-162 Protective Sands is Colorless, and as a battlefield it is a 1-in-3 draw in a Duel (485.4.a, 485.5) rather than a card you can count on.
- The Power is not wasted, which is what makes the dump affordable: 167 empties the Rune Pool at the start of your Main Phase, not at the end, so Power added mid-Main-Phase is spendable for the rest of that phase. Spend it on the [Accelerate] costs (E1 + 1 Fury each) that let these two bodies act the turn they land.
- The runes are not gone for good — 430.4.a channels 2 back every Channel Phase — but they are gone for THIS turn's Energy, so the dump is paid in tempo. That is the real price and the entry does not hide it. CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#456): not at the next Channel Phase. 416.1 puts a recycled rune on the bottom of the Rune Deck (416.1.b) and 430.1 channels from the top, so 315.3.b's two a turn are the runes above it, which the board gets whether or not anything was recycled. With only those two a turn (161.2.a, 315.3.b, 485.7), a rune recycled on any of T1 to T6 is back on T7 going first; going second the first one recycled by T5 is back on T6 and the second on T7; each two more recycled push it a turn later, and a card that channels more (430.2) brings it back sooner. Only once the Rune Deck is empty (all twelve out, T6 at the earliest from either seat) does the next Channel Phase give a recycled rune back; before that a recycle is a rune short on every turn until the deck runs dry, and two recycled every turn hold the board flat at two going first. So the dumped runes are gone for every turn's Energy until the deck runs dry, not for this turn's only: the dump is paid in tempo for several turns before the Rune Deck is empty, and at two a turn after it. The payoffs this entry turns on are unaffected; the price is higher and status unchanged.
Steps
- Start your Main Phase with the runes you need. Tap them for Energy (164.2.a) and play the turn: Eclipse Dragon and Renekton Rage Fueled, paying [Accelerate] so they enter ready.
- Now recycle the exhausted runes down to four (164.2.b; 161.2.b puts them in the Rune Deck). The Power lands in your Rune Pool and 167 does not take it until your NEXT Main Phase.
- Standard-move Eclipse Dragon to a battlefield (144.4.a). His trigger reads four runes and you draw 1.
- Attack with Renekton Rage Fueled. His trigger reads four runes at the Attacker designation and deals 2 to all enemy units there.
- 430.4.a channels 2 runes back at your Channel Phase; Oasis Raider's separate clause reads the board at 315.2.a next turn, before that, and gives him +2 Might and [Ganking] if you are still behind. CORRECTED 2026-10-24 (#456): not at the next Channel Phase. A recycled rune goes to the bottom of the Rune Deck (416.1, 416.1.b) and 430.1 channels from the top, so it is back on T7 at the earliest going first and T6 at the earliest going second with only the Channel Phase's two a turn (161.2.a, 315.3.b, 485.7); each two more recycled push it a turn later, a card that channels more (430.2) brings it back sooner, and the next Channel Phase gives it back only once the Rune Deck is empty. The read at 315.2.a, before the Channel Phase, is what this step uses, and it is unaffected.
How it ends
engine only — one card and one 2-damage sweep per turn once the rune count is dumped below five, paid for in that turn's Energy. Nothing here scores.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-orphan-synergy-rules.md §20), issue #153, from the orphan rule oasis-raider-low-rune-family. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 103.1.b.3, 144.4.a, 161.2.b, 164.2.a, 164.2.b, 167, 315.2.a, 315.3.b, 430.4.a, 485.4.a, 485.5. The six-card family was swept by BASE code, not by grep rows, per walk document §11a. The entry's contribution over the synergy rule is that it separates the two clauses by TIMING — the rule treats them as one axis, and the 'at the start of your Beginning Phase' half cannot be gamed mid-turn while the '4 or fewer' half can. Trap check: the attack is against a real garrison; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall; 167 is cited for what it does and does not empty, rather than assumed. Depends on no unruled reading.
