Prerequisites
- THE SPELL'S TWO HALVES READY TWO DISJOINT SETS, WHICH IS WHY FIORA DOUBLES IT RATHER THAN OVERLAPPING IT. Half one readies every ALREADY-BUFFED friend by spending its buff. Half two then buffs 'all friendly units' — and 702.3.a means only the ones with no buff receive it, which after half one is exactly the set half one could not touch. Every unbuffed 4-Might body among them crosses to 5, 709 fires 'becomes Mighty', and Fiora readies it for 1 Order Power. One spell, both halves of your board upright.
- 703 gives the buff +1 and 708 sets the Mighty line at 5, so the second half only converts bodies sitting at exactly 4 — a 3-Might unit reaches 4 and stops, a 5-Might unit was already Mighty (709's own second example). The first half has no such condition: it readies any buffed unit whatever its Might.
- Spending a buff is what half one costs, and that is a payoff elsewhere: SFD-101 Fae Dragon's 'When you spend a buff, play a Gold gear token exhausted' fires once per buff spent, which is the catalogued overt-operation-fae-dragon-industrialist. This entry deliberately does NOT declare the Dragon — the claim here is the double untap, and adding a fifth card would force the matcher to require it.
- Five Energy and 2 Body Power for the spell, three Energy for Fiora, then 1 Order Power per body the second half readies. Both Power costs land in one Main Phase, which against #44's free floor of 2 Power a turn is the real constraint: the spell alone is 2 Power before Fiora is paid at all.
- Three uses a game (103.2.b) and it is an [Action], so 806.1.b lets it be cast in a Showdown as well as your Main Phase — readying a garrison mid-Showdown is what separates it from peak-guardian-fiora-mass-ready, which is a unit and can only be played in an Open State.
- It readies, it does not protect: everything it stands back up is still whatever Might it was, and Fiora is a 3-Might body that the opponent can simply remove first to switch the second half off.
Steps
- Play Fiora, Worthy (3 Energy) at any point beforehand.
- Spend your units' exhausts as normal — move them, attack, pay exhaust abilities.
- Cast Overt Operation (5 Energy + 2 Body Power). First half: for each friendly unit that carries a buff, spend that buff to ready it.
- Second half: buff all friendly units. 702.3.a places a buff only on those that have none — which is now every unit half one just spent, plus everything that never had one.
- Each unbuffed body at exactly 4 Might goes to 5 and 709 fires. Fiora's trigger goes up once per body: pay 1 Order Power each to ready them too.
- Both sets are upright, in one spell, in the middle of your Main Phase or a Showdown (806.1.b).
Per iteration
every buffed friend readied by the spell, plus one ready per unbuffed 4-Might friend at 1 Order Power
How it ends

AUTHORED 2026-09-06 from issue #160. OGN-153 is catalogued with Fae Dragon and Renata (overt-operation-fae-dragon-industrialist) and was an uncatalogued partner of fiora-buff-ready. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.2.b, 702.3, 702.3.a, 703, 708, 709 and 806.1.b opened in the Core Rules file. No unruled reading. The point the walk had to check: whether the spell's two halves overlap on the same bodies. They cannot — 702.3.a makes the second half skip anything that still has a buff, and half one removes buffs, so the sets are disjoint by construction. Deliberately kept to two cards; Fae Dragon is a lead on this row, not a use, for the reason #98 records about Brynhir.
