Combo · ENGINE
Peak Guardian × Fiora, Worthy — one play readies the whole garrison, mono-Order
Pieces
- Peak Guardian ×1
OGN-223 · engine · order
When you play me, buff me. Then, if I am at a battlefield, buff all other friendly units there. (To buff a unit, give it a +1 Might buff if it doesn't already have one.)
- Fiora, Worthy ×1
SFD-180 · payoff · order
When a unit you control becomes [Mighty], you may pay 1 Order Power to ready it. (A unit is Mighty while it has 5+ Might.)
Payoff
Deck
- MONO-ORDER. Every legend with Order in its pair can run both cards (103.1.b.3).
Prerequisites
- ONE CARD, ONE BUFF EACH, ONE READY EACH. 703 makes each buff contribute exactly +1 Might, and 709 says a unit 'becomes Mighty at the moment its Might changes from being less than 5 to being 5 or greater' with the worked example 'A Unit with Might 4 that gets +1 becomes Mighty.' So every 4-Might friend at that battlefield crosses the line simultaneously and Fiora's trigger goes up once per body, at 1 Order Power each.
- PEAK GUARDIAN'S SECOND SENTENCE IS LIVE, AND THE #100 WALK HAD TO CORRECT ITS OWN HUNT ON THAT POINT. 355.2.a makes 'the controller's Base or a Battlefield the controller controls' a default play location, so playing him TO a battlefield you control satisfies his own 'if I am at a battlefield' with no [Ambush] and no other permission; 822.1.b's [Ambush] exists for the different case of a battlefield where you have units but do not control it. He is not dead letter.
- THE CEILING IS UNBUFFED 4-MIGHT BODIES, NOT BODY COUNT. 702.3 — 'There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time' — and 702.3.a mean a friend that already carries a buff is skipped entirely ('it is not placed instead'), so it never becomes Mighty and never readies. A 3-Might body gets to 4 and stops; a 5-Might body was already Mighty and 709's own second example ('A Unit with Might 5 that gets +1 does not become Mighty, because it was already Mighty') excludes it. The engine wants a garrison of unbuffed 4-Might units.
- It is one play, not a repeat: Peak Guardian's trigger is 'When you play me', so three copies (103.2.b) are three uses a game. What makes it worth an entry rather than a trick is the SHAPE — every other Fiora line in the catalogue readies one body at a time (world-atlas-fiora-worthy-ready, soraka-fiora-loop-shield, friendship-fiora-worthy-mighty-ready), and this one readies the whole garrison for the price of the bodies' worth of Order Power.
- Buffing is CHOOSING (702.2.a), which is why this also switches on SFD-057 Irelia, Fervent ('When you choose or ready me, give me +1 Might this turn' — twice here, once for the buff and once for the ready) and SFD-195 Blade Dancer. Neither is declared, because neither is needed.
- Cost, counted whole: Peak Guardian 6 Energy + 1 Order Power, Fiora 3 Energy, plus 1 Order Power per body readied. Against #44's measured free floor of 2 Power a turn, four readies is already past what a deck makes without a Power engine.
- THE `BUFFING IS CHOOSING` SENTENCE IN THIS ENTRY IS FALSE FOR THE CARD THIS ENTRY IS BUILT ON (corrected 2026-09-12, #187 batch 29). The card selects PROGRAMMATICALLY — *"all other friendly units there"* / *"all friendly units"* — and 355.10.d makes a programmatically selected object NOT a target, its own worked example being the identical grammar (*"Kill all units at a battlefield targets a battlefield, but does not target any units"*). **383.4.b.3, cited by nothing, closes it: *"Although these abilities say `choose` in their Condition, they trigger specifically when an appropriate Game Object is Targeted."*** So this card fires NEITHER `SFD-195 Blade Dancer` nor `SFD-057 Irelia, Fervent`. 702.2.a`s *"a player chooses a Unit and then places a buff on it"* is the buff action`s internal description, not a claim that the card targeted anybody. **Swept: 39 cards buff, 37 of them CHOOSE and exactly TWO are programmatic — `OGN-153` and `OGN-223` — so the old sentence was true of thirty-seven cards and false of the only two anyone would call a MASS buffer.** This entry`s verdict does not move (it declares neither trigger and does not need them); the sentence was simply wrong inside a correct entry. Rider: a mass buffer pays no [Deflect] either, since 809.1.c charges *"for each time they choose"*.
Steps
- Play Fiora, Worthy (3 Energy) anywhere — her trigger reads 'a unit you control', with no location clause.
- Assemble a garrison of unbuffed 4-Might units at a battlefield you control, and let them spend their exhausts (moving, attacking, activating).
- Play Peak Guardian (6 Energy + 1 Order Power) TO that battlefield. 355.2.a permits it because you control the battlefield, which satisfies his own 'if I am at a battlefield'.
- He buffs himself, then buffs all other friendly units there. Each unbuffed 4-Might body goes to 5 and 709 fires 'becomes Mighty'.
- Fiora's trigger goes up once per body: pay 1 Order Power each to ready them. The whole garrison is upright again in the middle of your Main Phase.
Per iteration
one ready per unbuffed 4-Might body at that battlefield, 1 Order Power each, three times a game
How it ends
engine — a garrison-wide untap; it scores nothing by itself

AUTHORED 2026-09-06 from issue #160. OGN-223 was an uncatalogued partner of fiora-buff-ready (98 partners; 8 entries in the catalogue carry SFD-180 and every one of them readies a single body). Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.2.b, 355.2.a, 702.2.a, 702.3, 702.3.a, 703, 708, 709 and 822.1.b opened in the Core Rules file. No unruled reading. The #100 walk's correction is applied rather than re-derived: Peak Guardian's 'buff all other friendly units here' is live whenever he is played to a battlefield you control, which the hunt behind #100 had called dead letter.
