Combo · ENGINE
Lee Sin, Centered pays per buffed BODY, and 702.3 caps a body at one buff — so the Pit Rookies are the engine, not the buffs
Pieces
- Pit Rookie ×3
OGN-136 · engine · body
When you play me, buff another friendly unit. (If it doesn't have a buff, it gets a +1 Might buff.)
- Lee Sin, Centered ×1
OGN-151 · payoff · body
[Accelerate] (You may pay 1 Energy + 1 Body Power as an additional cost to have me enter ready.) Other buffed friendly units at my battlefield have +2 Might.
Payoff
Deck
- Any legend with Body among its two domains (103.1.b.3) — 17 names: Relentless Storm (OGN-249), Blind Monk (OGN-257), Bounty Hunter (OGN-267), The Boss (OGN-269), Wuju Bladesman - Starter (OGS-019), Might of Demacia - Starter (OGS-023), Purifier (SFD-183), Grandmaster at Arms (SFD-193), Battle Mistress (SFD-203), Grand Duelist (SFD-205), Pridestalker (UNL-183), Wuju Master (UNL-191), Voidreaver (UNL-201), Keeper of the Hammer (UNL-203), Butcher of the Sands (VEN-141), Defender of Tomorrow (VEN-149), Matriarch of War (VEN-153).
- The buffed bodies must stand at LEE SIN'S battlefield — his clause says 'at my battlefield', so buffing a unit at your base pays nothing.
Prerequisites
- THE BOTTLENECK IS BODIES, NOT BUFFS, AND 702.3 IS WHY. 'There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time' (702.3.a: a second is not placed), so three Pit Rookies buff three DIFFERENT units and a fourth buffer aimed at the same board buys nothing. Each Pit Rookie is a 2-Energy 2-Might body that also arms another body for Lee Sin, so the pair scales with how many separate units you can field, exactly the min(triggers, unbuffed bodies) shape #106 measured for the Recruit loop.
- LEE SIN'S +2 IS A CONTINUOUS MODIFIER, NOT A BUFF, AND THE DIFFERENCE MATTERS TWICE. 702.2.a defines buffing as choosing a unit and placing a buff on it; Lee Sin places nothing — his text is a static that reads the counter. So 702.3 never applies to his +2 (it stacks on top of the +1 buff, and would stack with a second Lee Sin), and nothing that SPENDS a buff can spend it. The arithmetic per buffed body is 1 (the buff, 703) + 2 (Lee Sin) = +3 Might, and 'Other' excludes him.
- THE ANTI-SYNERGY IS ONE CARD AWAY IN THE SAME DOMAIN. 702.2.b: 'Spending a Buff removes a single Buff counter from a Unit.' `OGN-147 Wildclaw Shaman` ('you may spend a buff to buff me and ready me') and `OGN-157 Udyr, Wildman` ('Spend my buff: …') both pay by removing the counter — and the moment the counter goes, Lee Sin's +2 goes with it. A deck picks a side: carry buffs or spend them, never both, which is the distinction #153 drew for `OGN-065 Wizened Elder` and `OGN-125 Bilgewater Bully`.
- Three Pit Rookies is 6 Energy for six Might of bodies and three armed carriers; Lee Sin is 6 Energy with [Accelerate] (143.4.a) available for 1 Energy + 1 Body Power if you want him moving the turn he lands. On a garrison of three buffed bodies he is worth +6 Might spread across them, plus his own 6.
- Every buffed body is also a live target for the pool's other buff-readers, which is the synergy-rule shape rather than this entry's business: `OGN-065 Wizened Elder` and `OGN-125 Bilgewater Bully` are the only two `While I'm buffed` statics, and `OGN-228 Vanguard Helm` and `SFD-101 Fae Dragon` react to buffs from the other side.
- The buff itself is 703's +1 Might and is permanent, unlike a 'this turn' modifier — which is what makes the garrison keep its size across turns while Lee Sin lives.
Steps
- Play Lee Sin, Centered (6 Energy), optionally paying [Accelerate]'s 1 Energy + 1 Body Power so he enters ready (143.4.a), and station him at a battlefield.
- Play a Pit Rookie (2 Energy) at that battlefield. Its play trigger buffs ANOTHER friendly unit there: +1 Might counter (702.2.a, 703).
- Play the second and third Pit Rookie. Each must buff a different body, because 702.3 refuses a second counter on a unit that already has one.
- Every buffed body at Lee Sin's battlefield now has +2 more from his static — a continuous modifier that 702.3 does not cap.
- Keep the counters: any card that SPENDS a buff (702.2.b) switches Lee Sin's bonus off for that body.
Per iteration
-2 Energy per Pit Rookie, +1 body at 2 Might, and one more friendly unit at +3 effective Might
How it ends
engine — +3 Might on each separately buffed body at Lee Sin's battlefield, bounded by how many different bodies you can field; nothing here scores

AUTHORED 2026-09-07, issue #173. OGN-136 Pit Rookie and OGN-151 Lee Sin, Centered were both in ZERO entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 143.4.a, 702.2.a, 702.2.b, 702.3, 702.3.a, 703 opened in the Core Rules file. Both cards legal in both formats; neither is Signature. No unruled reading. CLAUDE.md already records that Lee Sin, Centered's +2 is a continuous modifier and not a 702 buff; what this entry adds is the consequence — his payoff counts BODIES carrying a counter, so the buffers are the engine and a second buffer on the same body is dead.
