Prize of Progress — your Power base was already paying it
Pieces
- Prize of Progress ×1
SFD-075 · payoff · mind
When you use an activated ability of a gear, give me +1 Might this turn.
- Seal of Insight ×3
OGN-120 · engine · mind
Exhaust: [Reaction] — [Add] 1 Mind Power. (Abilities that add resources can't be reacted to.)
Payoff
Deck
- Both mono-Mind (103.1.b.1), so any Mind legend runs the pair.
- The Seals must be ready — 315.1.b readies them every Awaken.
Prerequisites
- THE POINT IS THAT THE TRIGGERS ARE ALREADY BEING PAID FOR. A Seal of Insight costs E0 and 1 Power to play and exists to add Mind Power; a Mind deck taps them regardless of what else is on the board. Prize of Progress collects +1 Might from each of those activations at no additional cost, so three Seals put it at M3 + 3 = M6 on any turn you use your Power base — and 709 makes M6 [Mighty], which it was not at M3.
- The honest ceiling, and it is small. Each Seal's ability carries its own exhaust, so it is one activation per copy per turn (315.1.b readies them at the next Awaken); 103.2.b caps the Seals at three. Every other gear in the deck adds its own activation, and the matrix counted 62 'partners' for this trigger only because the cause regex is a bare exhaust symbol — most of those are gear you would never activate on the same turn. The real number is however many gear abilities your turn actually uses.
- The bonus is 'this turn', so it is a combat and defence number, not a permanent one, and it is a continuous modifier rather than a 702 buff — 702.3 never caps it and it stacks with a real buff.
- What it does NOT do: nothing in mono-Mind converts Might into points (#97 measured that only OGN-034's excess-damage threshold does, and that is Fury), so this is a body that defends better on the turns you spend Power, and no more. The entry claims exactly that.
- SFD-075 appears in no catalogued entry, and neither does the pairing; the Seal is in the deck of nearly every Mind list already, which is what makes the marginal cost of the trigger zero.
Steps
- Play the Seals of Insight (E0 + 1 Power each) as your ordinary Mind Power base.
- Play Prize of Progress (E4 + 1 Power).
- On any turn you tap a Seal for Mind Power, its activated ability fires Prize of Progress: +1 Might this turn.
- Three Seals tapped is +3, putting it at M6 — over 709's threshold of 5, so it is [Mighty] for that turn.
- 315.1.b readies the Seals at the next Awaken and the cycle repeats for free.
How it ends
engine only — +1 Might per gear activation you were making anyway, so about +3 on a turn that uses three Seals, and it lasts only that turn. Nothing here scores.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-finisher-feeders.md §18), issue #161, from the CAUSE/TRIGGER matrix row 43. Card set checked first (SFD-075 + OGN-120: no exact match; SFD-075 appears in NO catalogued entry). Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 103.1.b.1, 103.2.b, 315.1.b, 702.3, 709. Trap check: no attack; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall; the Might bonus is a continuous modifier, not a 702 buff; 167 is not touched, since the Power the Seals add is spent in the phase it is added.
