Combo · ENGINE
Two bodies that grow per spell PLAYED, and a replay from the trash is a second play of a card already spent

When you play a spell, give me +1 Might this turn.

Payoff
Deck
- Mind + Chaos. Computed over the 94 legend base codes in cards.json: OGN-263 / OGN-307 Swift Scout (Teemo), SFD-199 / SFD-248 Prodigal Explorer (Ezreal), UNL-197 / UNL-234 Scorn of the Moon (Diana), VEN-151 / VEN-195 Soul's Reflection (Mel). Nothing here is Signature, so all four names are open (103.2.d.2).
- Spells you were going to cast anyway. The line adds no spell of its own — it prices the ones already in the deck.
Prerequisites
- +N MIGHT THIS TURN IS NOT A BUFF, WHICH IS THE WHOLE REASON THESE STACK. 702.3 — 'There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time' — and 702.3.a govern the 702 counter, and 703 fixes each Buff at exactly +1. Neither card places a counter: 'give me +1 Might this turn' is a plain continuous modifier applied in 477.3.e.1's increase step, so a second, third and fourth instance all apply and there is no cap of any kind. Every buff-doubling trap in the catalogue is silent here.
- THE REPLAY IS A SECOND 'YOU PLAY A SPELL' EVENT OFF A CARD ALREADY SPENT, AND THAT IS THE RULE'S CLAIM MEASURED. Fizz, Trickster plays a spell from your trash 'ignoring its Energy cost' — the spell was paid for once, went to the trash, and now fires both triggers again for the price of a body you wanted anyway. 350.1 makes a card Played when the process finishes, so the trigger reads a genuine play. The same shape is printed on 17 [Flow] cards: 829.1.b is 'functionally short for "You may play this from your trash for its flow cost. Then banish it"', so each copy is worth exactly TWO events over a game, and 829.1.b.1's delayed replacement banish is the cap.
- THE ARITHMETIC, WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. A turn in which you cast three spells and then play Fizz, whose trigger replays a fourth from the trash, is four 'you play a spell' events. Ravenbloom Student goes from M2 to M6 and Diana, No Longer Human from M3 to M11 — a summed Might of 17 across two bodies that cost E2 and E4 + 1 Chaos Power. 465.2.c reads that sum when the damage is assigned.
- DIANA ARRIVES INSIDE THE FIGHT. 822.1.b makes [Ambush] 'functionally short for "I may be played to a battlefield where you control Units" and "I have [Reaction] as long as I'm being played to a battlefield where you control Units"', and 822.1.c adds the location during the Make Relevant Choices step of playing. So she can be played as a [Reaction] into a Combat's Closed State (813.1.c.1, 312.2.c) at a battlefield you already garrison — a body entering mid-combat takes the Defender designation at the next Cleanup, before 465.2 resolves (319.6, 323.2.a) — and every spell cast in that same Closed State then grows her by 2.
- WHAT THE MIGHT IS FOR, STATED PLAINLY. Nothing in Mind/Chaos converts Might into points: the excess-damage family is Fury and Body (OGN-034, SFD-120, UNL-187, UNL-188, UNL-217), so this line's product is a combat it wins and a battlefield it takes, never a burst. That is why it is ENGINE and produces conquer-engine, and why the pairing with an excess-damage payoff is refused rather than left implied — 103.1.b would need a third domain.
- WHAT REFUTES IT. (a) Every point of Might expires at end of turn, so the two bodies defend at printed size on the opponent's turn — M2 and M3, both of which die to almost anything. (b) Fizz's replay is capped at Energy cost 3 or less and still charges the spell's Power cost, so the free half is Energy only. (c) The triggers read SPELLS: a token played, an ability activated and a unit cast are all worth nothing (350.2 and 185.2.a keep a token out of any 'played a card' clause, and a unit is not a spell). (d) 103.2.b caps each of the three at three copies, but a second Ravenbloom or Diana grows separately rather than faster — the rate per body is fixed.
Steps
- Earlier turn: play Ravenbloom Student (E2). 143.4 makes her enter exhausted; 315.1.b readies her.
- Main Phase of the payoff turn: cast the spells the deck was going to cast anyway. Each one gives Ravenbloom +1 Might this turn (477.3.e.1).
- Play Diana, No Longer Human (E4 + 1 Chaos Power), either normally or as a [Reaction] to a battlefield where you already have units ([Ambush], 822.1.b / 822.1.c). From that point every spell gives her +2 as well.
- Play Fizz, Trickster (E3 + 1 Chaos Power). His trigger plays one spell from your trash of Energy cost 3 or less, ignoring its Energy cost — you still pay its Power cost — and then recycles it to the bottom of your Main Deck (416.1.a).
- That replay is a fourth 'you play a spell' event: Ravenbloom is M6 and Diana is M11.
- Attack, or defend, with a summed Might of 17 that cost two Energy and one card more than the turn was going to cost anyway. 465.2.c reads the sum at assignment.
Per iteration
+1 and +2 Might per spell played, uncapped, with one of the spells played for free out of the trash — a 17-Might board on an ordinary four-spell turn
How it ends
engine only — every modifier expires at end of turn, nothing in Mind/Chaos converts Might into points, and Fizz's replay is one per copy

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #170), from the orphan synergy rule ravenbloom-student-spell-replay, whose anchor OGN-103 was in zero entries. The walk swept the pool for the trigger the rule is about: grep -i 'when you play a spell' over data/corpus_flat.txt returns eight cards as of 2026-09-07 — OGN-103 Ravenbloom Student, OGS-006 Lux Illuminated, OGS-021 Lady of Luminosity, SFD-063 Chemtech Cask, UNL-005 Revna the Lorekeeper, UNL-149 Diana No Longer Human, UNL-181 Virtuoso and UNL-211 Forgotten Library; FIVE of those gate on a cost or spend threshold (OGS-006 and OGS-021 on 'costs 5 or more', UNL-005, UNL-181 and UNL-211 on 'if you spent 4 or more') and SFD-063 gates on the spell being played on an opponent's turn, so exactly TWO are unconditional: OGN-103 and UNL-149, and UNL-149 pays at twice Ravenbloom's rate. Both it and OGN-103 were in zero entries. The legend list was computed from cards.json (mind + chaos over the 94 legend base codes), not typed. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and read: 103.1.b, 103.2.b, 103.2.d.2, 143.4, 185.2.a, 312.2.c, 315.1.b, 319.6, 323.2.a, 350.1, 350.2, 416.1.a, 465.2, 465.2.c, 477.3.e.1, 702.3, 702.3.a, 703, 813.1.c.1, 822.1.b, 822.1.c, 829.1.b, 829.1.b.1. Ban check: OGN-103, UNL-149 and SFD-140 carry no [BANNED marker. Arithmetic against its own declared quantities: four spell events take M2 to M6 and M3 to M11. Trap check: the modifiers are NOT 702 buffs, so 702.3 never applies and they stack; a token is played but is not a card and is not a spell (350.2, 185.2.a), so it fires nothing here; [Flow] is two events per copy and 829.1.b.1 banishes; no [Temporary]; no [Repeat]. Depends on no unruled reading.
