When you play this or at the start of your Beginning Phase, [Burn 1]. When you burn a unit this way, do this: Give a friendly unit +Might equal to the burned card's Might this turn. (To Burn 1, put the top card of your Main Deck into your trash.)
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains must cover Fury and Chaos (103.1.b.1 "Cards included in your deck must abide by your Domain Identity", 103.1.b.2 "Your deck's Domain Identity is dictated by the domains of your Champion Legend"). Five legends are Fury/Chaos: OGN-251 Loose Cannon, OGS-017 Dark Child, SFD-185 Glorious Executioner, UNL-185 Bloodharbor Ripper, VEN-143 Master of Shadows. This entry is the Fury/Chaos build, because VEN-013 Shadow Assassin is Fury.
- A Main Deck long enough that Forgotten Relic's burn does not reach the bottom. No battlefield of its own.
Run play
Prerequisites
- THE ISSUE'S OWN FIVE CARDS CANNOT SHARE A DECK, AND THIS ENTRY IS THE HALF THAT CAN. #95 listed VEN-013 Shadow Assassin (FURY) alongside VEN-156 Lightning Rush (ORDER/CHAOS). 103.1.b.1 "Cards included in your deck must abide by your Domain Identity" and 103.1.b.2 "Your deck's Domain Identity is dictated by the domains of your Champion Legend" - and a legend has exactly two domains. Fury + Chaos keeps Shadow Assassin and loses Lightning Rush; Order + Chaos, under VEN-155 Heart of the Tempest, keeps Lightning Rush and loses Shadow Assassin. Same trap #48 hit with Chemtech Cask.
- AND LOSING LIGHTNING RUSH COSTS SOMETHING REAL. 431.1.c: an instruction to look at or reveal past the deck "looks at or Reveals as many as possible, but does not Burn Out", and 431.1.c.1 adds "This does not cause a Burn Out, even if those instructions would cause those cards to change zones." VEN-156 ('Look at the top 3... draw 1... Put the rest into your trash') is therefore the only Burn-Out-safe trash filler in the pool. Forgotten Relic is not: 431.1.b covers any card moved from the Main Deck to another zone.
- THE REFUTATION THE ENTRY HAS TO CARRY, VERBATIM. 431.2.b: "Recycles their trash into their Main Deck." One Burn Out and all three discounts reset AT ONCE - and 431.2.c hands an opponent a point on top. Forgotten Relic burns one card every Beginning Phase whether you want it to or not, so this deck walks toward that wall on a timer. The catalogue cites 431.1.a twenty times and 431.2.b three; for this lens 431.2.b is the dominant rule.
- 356.6 VERBATIM: "Energy and Power costs can't be reduced below 0." Ten cards in the trash put Rhasa at 0 Energy + 1 Power for a 6 Might body, and no amount of trash touches the Power.
- 206 CUTS THE OTHER WAY AND IT IS A GIFT. "Effects that need to determine a card's cost for any purpose always use its printed or copied cost, even if that cost is increased, decreased, or ignored as the card is played." So a discounted Rhasa is still an E10 CARD for anything that reads a cost - including OGN-008 Get Excited!, which will deal 10. The same pile serves both lines (see get-excited-flame-chompers-jinx).
- OGN-109 DR. MUNDO, EXPERT IS NOT THE FOURTH MEMBER, AND THE RULES SAY SO TWICE. 416.4: "When Recycling is part of an effect, a player must Recycle as many cards as possible from the specified zone or zones." 416.6's worked example is Mundo by name: "'At the start of your Beginning Phase, recycle 3 from your trash.' As that ability resolves, its controller recycles 3 cards from their trash." Mandatory, every turn, out of the exact pile Rhasa is priced against. And he is MIND, so 103.1.b.1 keeps him out regardless.
- WHAT FILLS THE TRASH, MEASURED. 157 puts every resolved spell there. Forgotten Relic burns 1 every Beginning Phase for free. Combat deaths and this lens's 31 discard outlets do the rest. Ten is reachable, and it is not fast: the entry claims a mid-game price, not a turn-three one.
Steps
- Play Forgotten Relic (5 Energy). It burns 1 at once and 1 more at the start of every Beginning Phase, free.
- Let the trash fill: 157 puts every spell you resolve there, and the discard outlets of this lens put cards there on purpose.
- At ten cards in the trash, Rhasa the Sunderer costs 0 Energy + 1 Power (356.6) for a 6 Might body. Three copies is three Power across a game.
- Discard or lose two Shadowblade Lurkers along the way - OGN-008 Get Excited! pays their printed 5 Energy as 5 damage on the way - and the third costs 1 Energy for 5 Might.
- Shadow Assassin enters ready once one copy is in the trash, so unlike every other unit (143.4) it can take its Standard Move (144.2, 144.4.a) the turn it lands.
- Do not run the deck out. 431.2.b recycles the whole trash into the Main Deck on the first Burn Out and every discount resets at once.
Per iteration
a 6 Might body for one Power once the trash holds ten cards, plus a 5 Might body for one Energy once two Lurkers are down
How it ends
engine only - three copies of each body (103.2.b), and the whole price structure resets the first time you Burn Out (431.2.b)

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-discard-trash-lens.md), issue #95 candidate 6. REWRITTEN: THE ISSUE'S OWN CARD LIST BREAKS DOMAIN IDENTITY. It paired VEN-013 Shadow Assassin (Fury) with VEN-156 Lightning Rush (Order/Chaos) in one deck, which 103.1.b.1/103.1.b.2 forbid - a legend has exactly two domains. The entry is the Fury/Chaos build, because that is the identity the rest of this lens lives in; the Order/Chaos alternative under VEN-155 Heart of the Tempest keeps Lightning Rush and loses Shadow Assassin, and is named in the notables with its rule. The walk also cut Shadowblade Lurker's advertised discount to its real floor (only 2 of the 3 copies can be in the trash with a third left to play, so 1 Energy, not 0), opened 416.4/416.6 on Dr. Mundo rather than repeating the issue's summary, and recorded the 206 link that makes the same Rhasa serve get-excited-flame-chompers-jinx as 10 damage. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 103.1.b.1, 103.1.b.2, 103.2.b, 143.4, 144.2, 144.4.a, 157, 206, 356.6, 415.1, 416.4, 416.6, 431.1.b, 431.1.c, 431.1.c.1, 431.2.b, 431.2.c. Ban check: none of the four carries a [BANNED marker. Trap check: no Attacker designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token, so 185/186.1 never arise; no recall; no Gold; no battlefield of its own; all costs are Main Phase costs, so 167 does not bite. Depends on no unruled reading.
