Payoff
Deck
- Grandmaster at Arms IS the legend, SFD-193 or SFD-245 (Calm/Body), so this is a one-legend line by construction. Royal Entourage is mono-Calm and Warmog's Armor mono-Body, so 103.1.b.3 holds with nothing to spare.
Prerequisites
- WHAT THE SECOND REATTACH IS WORTH, AND WHY IT IS NOT A THIRD. 469.1 defines a Conquer at a battlefield 'not yet Scored this turn', 470 caps Scoring at once per battlefield per turn and 485.4 puts two battlefields on a Duel table — so a turn holds at most TWO Conquers. One free reattach lets Warmog's buff the carrier at one of them; the second lets it buff a different carrier at the other. A third reattach has no Conquer left to attend, so a second Royal Entourage on the same turn is worth nothing.
- THIS SHARPENS `jax-grandmaster-warmogs-buff`, which says 'one reattachment a turn, throttled by how often you conquer'. The throttle is not open-ended: 470 plus 485.4 name the number, and it is two.
- 415.1.c FORCES THE ORDER. The legend must be exhausted for the first reattach before Royal Entourage is played, because readying an already-ready object does nothing.
- THE ATTACH IS FREE AND IS NEVER A PLAY. 818.1: 'Equip is an Activated Ability keyword.' The Grandmaster's second ability attaches directly, so the Equipment's own [Equip] cost (one Body rune) is paid once, on the way in, and never again; and because attaching is not playing, no 'when you play a gear' or [Weaponmaster] trigger fires off the shuttle.
- AND IT CAN NEVER GO BACK ONTO THE SAME BODY. 434.1.g: 'Attaching a card to its current Top-Most Card will not have any effect.' So the two Conquers must be attended by two different carriers; on a one-battlefield board the second activation is dead.
- 702.3 IS WHY THE SHUTTLE EXISTS AT ALL. 'There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time.' Left on one carrier, Warmog's second Conquer places nothing (702.3.a). Moving it is the only way one Equipment buffs a second body.
- 103.2.b caps Royal Entourage at three copies, each consumed on play, so the doubled turn happens three times a game.
Steps
- Deck-build under a Grandmaster at Arms legend (SFD-193 or SFD-245) and pay Warmog's Armor's [Equip] of one Body rune once, onto a body headed for the first battlefield.
- Conquer the first battlefield. 466.5 establishes Control and 466.5.d makes it a Conquer, so Warmog's '[Effect] When I conquer, buff me' places a +1 Might buff on its current carrier (434.1.c is why 'me' is the carrier).
- In the same Main Phase, activate the legend's free ability: exhaust it and attach Warmog's to a body standing at the second battlefield. 434.1.f detaches it from the first carrier in the same action, and 434.1.g is why the destination has to be a different unit.
- Play Royal Entourage and ready the legend. 415.1.c is why this comes after the exhaust, not before.
- Conquer the second battlefield. Warmog's buffs its new carrier — a second body carrying a real 702 Buff counter, on the same turn, off one Equipment.
- The legend is now ready again from the Entourage and its free ability is spent; 470 refuses a third Score at either battlefield this turn, so the turn is closed. 315.1.b readies the legend at the next Awakening.
How it ends
engine only — two buffed carriers a turn instead of one, capped at two by 470 plus 485.4 and at three doubled turns a game by 103.2.b; nothing here scores

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #170, from `royal-entourage-readies-your-legend` (anchor SFD-039, ZERO entries before this batch). Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The content is the CAP, not the doubling: `jax-grandmaster-warmogs-buff` left 'how often you conquer' open, and 470 with 485.4 closes it at two, which is exactly what one Royal Entourage buys and why a second on the same turn buys nothing. Trap check: 434.1.g is quoted so the shuttle is never claimed onto the same host; 818.1 is cited so no play trigger is smuggled in; 702.3 is cited as the reason a stationary Warmog's stops after one buff; `needs: conquer-engine` is declared because the entry consumes Conquers it does not produce.
