A nine Might body makes Sky Splitter cost zero — 356.6 is the floor, and the Power is the only thing left to pay

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Land a 9 Might unit: Volibear, Furious for 10 Energy + 2 Power, or Kadregrin the Infernal for 9 Energy + 2 Power.
  2. Relentless Storm sees a [Mighty] unit played: exhaust it to channel 1 rune exhausted, once per turn.
  3. With that body alive, play Sky Splitter: its E8 is reduced by 9, and 356.6 stops the cost at 0. Pay the 1 Power.
  4. Deal 5 to a unit at a battlefield — enough for anything at 5 Might or less (710).
  5. Repeat next turn with the next copy while the big body lives. If it dies, Sky Splitter costs 8 Energy again.

Per iteration

5 damage to a unit at a battlefield for 0 Energy and 1 Power, once per copy, for as long as a 9 Might unit is on the board

How it ends

engine only — three Sky Splitters, each consumed, and the discount dies with the body that grants it

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue89-tournament-corpus.md), issue #89 candidate 5 (84-93 registered lists). OGN-014 Sky Splitter, OGN-041 Volibear, Furious and OGN-249 Relentless Storm appeared in NO entry before this; OGN-038 Kadregrin is in two and OGN-250 Stormbringer in confront-vi-stormbringer, and both overlaps are declared. THE WALK'S ADDITIONS: 356.6 caps the reduction at 0 but says nothing about Power, so the 1 Power is paid on every copy and the entry prices it; the reduction is a cost calculation read at the moment of playing, so the '0 Energy' is conditional on the body surviving, which the entry states instead of assuming; and the Stormbringer question the hunt left open is answered — the wipe and the move are one resolution, so no units of two opposing players are ever present and 323.9 stages no Combat, which is why that half belongs to a Conquer entry and not to this one. The rate is also measured against the free floor of 2 Power a turn (164.2.b, 161.2.b, 315.3.b, 430.4.a) rather than against zero. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 103.2.b, 161.2.b, 164.2.b, 315.3.b, 323.9, 348.2.a.1, 356.6, 415.3.a, 430.4.a, 466.5.d, 710. Ban check: none of the five carries a [BANNED marker. Trap check: no attack designation is claimed for Sky Splitter (Volibear's own 'when I attack' is named but not counted); no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall; no Gold; no battlefield of its own. Depends on no unruled reading.
