Combo · ENGINE
385.2's worked example is Super Mega Death Rocket! — every copy in your trash answers the same conquer
Pieces
- Super Mega Death Rocket! ×3
OGN-252 · engine · fury/chaos
Deal 5 to a unit. When you conquer, you may discard 1 to return this from your trash to your hand.
- Flame Chompers ×3
OGN-006 · payoff · fury
When you discard me, you may pay 1 Fury Power to play me.
- Loose Cannon ×1
OGN-251 · legend · fury/chaos
At start of your Beginning Phase, draw 1 if you have one or fewer cards in your hand.

Deck
- OGN-252 Super Mega Death Rocket! is a SIGNATURE card tagged Jinx, so 103.2.d.2 forces a Jinx legend that also covers fury + chaos: OGN-251 Loose Cannon — the only one. Domain-legal legends without the Jinx tag cannot run the list. (Rebuilt from the census by test/legend-lines.test.ts, 2026-09-07; an earlier line named legends that cannot hold a Jinx Signature card.)
- A battlefield you can conquer. No battlefield of its own - any conquer anywhere fires it.
Prerequisites
- NO READING IS NEEDED, BECAUSE THIS CARD IS THE RULE'S OWN EXAMPLE. 385.2, verbatim: "Triggered Abilities outside of the Board will self-describe their context. Example: The triggered ability 'When you conquer, you may discard 1 to return this from your trash to your hand.' triggers while the card it's on is in the trash, and not anywhere else." That is OGN-252's printed text word for word. 385.1 is why it works at all - "Triggered Abilities on cards outside of the Board rely on the Information Level of the zone they are in" - and 108.2.d supplies it: "Cards in a player's Trash are Public Information."
- THREE COPIES IN THE TRASH ARE THREE INDEPENDENT TRIGGERS ON ONE CONQUER. Each trigger sits on its own card. You control all three, so 383.3.d lets you order them, and each asks for its OWN 'you may discard 1'. Three discards, three Rockets back in hand, off a single conquer.
- AND THAT IS NOT THE SAME AS DOUBLING ONE. data/synergies.json excludes OGN-252 from red-brambleback-conquer, and its reason - rewritten in commit 6eaa1aa (#99, 2026-09-06) - already says exactly this: the extra instance lands on a copy that has just left the trash and finds it in your hand, while 385.2 still gives every copy SITTING in the trash its own trigger. This walk confirms that text; nothing needed changing.
- THE BILL IS POWER, NOT THE TRIGGER. The returns are free - the discard IS the cost, and with a Flame Chompers it is a negative cost (1 Fury Power for a 3 Might body, 422.1.b / 355.2.a / 143.4). What is not free is casting them again: 4 Energy + 1 Power each. Against the project's measured free floor of 2 Power a turn (164.2.b, 161.2.b, 315.3.b / 430.4.a) that is TWO recasts a turn, three if you recycle a third rune and give up its Energy. Declaring three Rockets a turn would be false.
- THE ONE FURY POWER IS THE WHOLE PRICE OF THE FLAME CHOMPERS BODY, and this walk re-checked the reading rather than inheriting it. 051 maps card wording onto the rules' own terms and 356.1.a says "If an ability or instruction allows you to play a card 'for [Cost]', replace the card's Base Costs with [Cost]." The pool supplies the contrast: SFD-150 Last Rites also plays a unit out of the trash and prints "(You still pay its costs.)"; OGN-006 and OGN-037 Immortal Phoenix, which prints the same "pay X to play me" shape, print no such clause. Under the additive reading Chompers from the trash would cost 3 Energy PLUS 1 Fury Power - strictly worse than playing it from hand - and both cards would be dead letter against rule 002. Same reading the catalogue already uses in flame-chompers-discard-recursion and death-from-below-recurring-kill. No reading is filed.
- 'DEAL 5' IS NOT POINTS. Repeatable reach at 5 damage a cast, no scoring anywhere in the line. ENGINE, and nothing more.
- OVERLAP, DECLARED. flame-chompers-discard-recursion holds ONE copy of the Rocket, as an enabler that feeds the Chompers. This entry inverts it - the Rockets are the engine, the multiplicity is the finding - and raises the count to three for that reason. In one deck the Chompers are the same three cards.
Steps
- Cast Super Mega Death Rocket! for 4 Energy + 1 Power: deal 5 to a unit. 157 places the spell in your trash when it has finished.
- Do the same with the other two copies over the following turns. 108.2.d makes them Public Information there, which is what 385.1 needs for a trigger in that zone to work.
- Conquer a battlefield. 385.2 gives EACH copy in the trash its own trigger; 383.3.d lets you order the three.
- Each trigger asks its own 'you may discard 1'. Pay it with a Flame Chompers: 422.1.a chooses it, 422.1.b runs its trigger after the discard, 1 Fury Power buys a 3 Might body (355.2.a, exhausted by 143.4).
- All three Rockets are back in your hand. Recasting is the real bill - 4 Energy + 1 Power apiece, so two a turn on the free floor of 2 Power.
Per iteration
one Rocket back in hand per copy sitting in the trash, per conquer, at one aimed discard each
How it ends
engine only - the returns are free but each recast costs 4 Energy + 1 Power, so the free floor of 2 Power a turn pays for two; no scoring anywhere in the line

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-discard-trash-lens.md), issue #95 candidate 3. HOLDS. THE FINDING IS THE MULTIPLICITY AND IT IS SETTLED BY THE RULES' OWN WORKED EXAMPLE: 385.2 quotes OGN-252's printed sentence verbatim, so no reading is filed. 385 was cited by NO entry in the catalogue before this walk (grep: 0 hits), and 108.2.d is what makes a trash trigger executable at all. The extra task the issue asked for - correcting the misleading 'why' on the OGN-252 exclusion of the red-brambleback-conquer synergy - was ALREADY APPLIED in data/synergies.json by commit 6eaa1aa (#99, 2026-09-06); this walk read the current text and confirms it, and nothing in data/synergies.json was touched. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 002, 051, 103.2.b, 108.2.d, 143.4, 157, 161.2.b, 164.2.b, 315.3.b, 355.2.a, 356.1.a, 383.3.d, 385.1, 385.2, 422.1.a, 422.1.b, 430.4.a. Ban check: none of the three carries a [BANNED marker. Trap check: no Attacker designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token, so 185/186.1 never arise; no recall; no Gold; no battlefield of its own; all costs are Main Phase costs, so 167 does not bite. Depends on no unruled reading.
