Combo · ENGINE
The Centaur's clause is NOT an Nth-time clause, so three simultaneous deaths are three triggers — the exact opposite of Wraith of Echoes under 383.1.b
Pieces
- Spectral Centaur ×1
UNL-068 · payoff · mind
When another friendly unit dies, give me +2 Might this turn.
- Bottled Constellation ×1

Payoff
Deck
- Any Mind legend: both cards are mono-Mind (103.1.b.3) and neither is a Signature card, so 103.2.d.2 forces nothing. This is the mono-domain version of the same pairing family — spectral-centaur-deathgrip-reaction-spike needs Mind AND Order.
- Neither card is banned or restricted in either format.
- You need three friendly units and/or gear to feed the Constellation, and the Centaur must not be among them ('other friendly units' on the Constellation, 'another friendly unit' on the Centaur).
Prerequisites
- THE CONTRAST WITH 383.1.b IS THE ENTRY. 383.1.b applies only to an ability that 'triggers "the [Nth] time" something happens', and its worked example is Wraith of Echoes' 'The first time … each turn' — that one collapses to a single execution when several deaths land at once. Spectral Centaur's clause has no such wording, so 383.3.d applies instead: 'If more than one Triggered Ability is Triggered simultaneously, then the player that controls the Abilities selects the order to place them on the Chain.' Three deaths, three triggers, +6 Might. The two cards read the same event and behave in exactly opposite ways.
- ARITHMETIC WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. At the start of your Main Phase the Constellation kills three of your bodies: the Centaur goes from 5 to 11 for the turn, and you gain 1 point. Feeding it gear instead of units costs you the trigger — 'another friendly unit dies' — so a Centaur turn wants three units, not two units and a spent Seal.
- THE +2s ARE MODIFIERS, NOT BUFFS. 702.3 ('There can only be one Buff on a Unit at a time') and 702.3.a never touch '+2 :rb_might: this turn', which is a plain continuous modifier — the same distinction the project drew for Lee Sin, Centered and Soul Shepherd. That is why three instances stack to +6 rather than being capped at one.
- AND IT ALL EXPIRES. 317.2.c inserts '3d. All "this turn" effects expire simultaneously' into the end-of-turn Cleanup, so an 11 Might Centaur is an 11 Might Centaur for exactly one turn — and the Constellation's timing is the start of your MAIN PHASE (316.4), which is after 315.2.b's Hold, so the Might is available for your own attack and for nothing else.
- THE POINT IS A GAIN AND LANDS UNCONDITIONALLY. R2 = A on issue #11: 194.1.c covers 'Spells, Triggered Abilities and Activated Abilities that instruct them to gain one or more points', so 470's once-per-battlefield cap does not apply and 471.1.a.1 keeps the Final Point restriction off it.
- PRICE THE BODIES. Three bodies a turn is the Constellation's real cost, and nothing here replaces them — see viktor-leader-bottled-constellation-refund for the half-refund. What this entry adds on top of the point is a turn's worth of Might on a body that was already there, at no extra cost.
Steps
- Play Spectral Centaur (6 Energy) and Bottled Constellation (10 Energy + 2 Mind Power) on earlier turns.
- Present three friendly units you are willing to spend, none of them the Centaur.
- At the start of your Main Phase, take the Constellation's option and kill all three; you gain 1 point (194.1.c).
- The Centaur's trigger is not an Nth-time clause, so it fires once per death (383.3.d orders them): +2, +2, +2.
- Attack with an 11 Might Centaur the same turn; 465.2.c reads the Might at assignment.
- Everything expires at the end-of-turn Cleanup (317.2.c); repeat next turn with three more bodies.
Per iteration
1 point and +6 Might on the Centaur for three friendly bodies, every turn
How it ends
engine only — one point a turn from the Constellation and +6 Might that expires the same turn; the rate is bounded by how many bodies you can present, and nothing here is unbounded

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #168, matrix group 27, friendly-dies x UNL-068, second partner). Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 103.1.b.3, 103.2.d.2, 194.1.c, 316.4, 317.2.c, 383.1.b, 383.3.d, 465.2.c, 470, 471.1.a.1, 702.3, 702.3.a. Distinct from spectral-centaur-deathgrip-reaction-spike on speed, identity and shape: that one is Mind/Order, Reaction speed, one death paying the killed body's whole Might; this one is mono-Mind, Main Phase, three simultaneous deaths paying +6 flat, and it comes with a point. Written as the deliberate counterpart to wraith-of-echoes-cruel-patron-sacrifice-body: the same event, and 383.1.b collapses one card's trigger and not the other's. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted. Trap check: gear fed to the Constellation gives the Centaur nothing; the Centaur cannot be one of the three; the +2s are modifiers and not Buffs, so 702.3 does not cap them; the Might expires (317.2.c); the point is a 194.1.c Gain (R2 = A); no unruled reading.
