Deck
- ONE LEGEND, not a domain field: Spinning Axe is a SIGNATURE card tagged Draven, so 103.2.d.2 forces the pool's one Draven legend - Glorious Executioner (SFD-185), Fury/Chaos, which is also exactly the spell's own two domains. Factory Recall is mono-Chaos and sits inside it by 103.1.b.1. 103.2.d.1 caps the deck at three Signature cards, and three Axes spend all of it.
- A body worth carrying +3 Might, and a second one for after the first dies.

Prerequisites
- RIOT NAMES THIS CARD TO EXPLAIN THE RULE. 722.2: 'Game Effects that parse or interpret text to determine target eligibility may still parse Inactive text for the sake of eligibility. Example: Spinning Axe is a gear with [Temporary]. While it's attached and its rules text is inactive, its [Temporary] ability doesn't trigger. However, a spell that reads "Destroy a gear with [Temporary]" could still choose and destroy Spinning Axe.' So the drawback is SILENCED while attached (718.2 + 721.2) and still VISIBLE to anything that reads text.
- AND THE AXE IS A SIGNATURE CARD, WHICH THE FIRST DRAFT OF THIS ENTRY MISSED. 103.2.d.2 puts the legend's champion tag on every Signature card, so one Axe in a list is a Glorious Executioner list and nothing else - a domain-shaped legend line would have admitted five names of which one is legal. The check that caught it is the second half of test/legend-lines.test.ts, run against the staging file before reporting; it is worth running on every draft that touches an Equipment, because a Signature Equipment reads like an ordinary one.
- 722.1 IS THE WIDER HALF: 'Cards with Inactive text still have keywords for the sake of Game Effects that want to reference or see if a card has a keyword.' An attached Equipment therefore still counts for every 'gear with [X]' clause, every keyword census and every targeting restriction — it simply cannot ACT. That is a distinction the catalogue has been making one card at a time and it has a paragraph.
- AND 719.5 IS THE CLOCK RESTARTING: 'When a Top-Most Card changes zones from a board zone to a non-board zone, all Attached cards Detach from it, remaining in their current zones.' When the carrier dies, the Axe detaches, its printed Rules Text goes Active again, and 816.1.b — 'At the start of this permanent's controller's Beginning Phase, before scoring, kill this' — is live. Losing the body is losing the gear one turn later, and that is the risk the entry is built to answer.
- [QUICK-DRAW] IS WHY THE ANSWER IS CHEAP. 819.1.d: 'Quick-Draw is functionally short for "[Reaction]" and "When you play this, attach it to a Unit you control."' No [Equip] cost is ever determined, so returning the Axe to hand and replaying it re-attaches it to a body of your choosing for its play cost alone — 2 Energy + 1 Power — and 718.2 silences the [Temporary] again the moment it lands.
- FACTORY RECALL IS AN [ACTION], SO THE RESCUE CAN HAPPEN IN THE COMBAT THAT IS ABOUT TO KILL THE CARRIER (806.1.b), not only afterwards. Returning your own gear before the body dies skips the detached window entirely.
- AND 724 IS THE SYMMETRIC FACT WORTH STATING BESIDE 718.2: 'Effect Text is Inactive unless the card with the Effect Text is Attached.' An Equipment in hand or on the board unattached has its printed text ACTIVE and its Effect Text INACTIVE; attached, exactly the reverse. The Axe is the clearest card in the pool for that inversion, because its printed text is a drawback and its Might Bonus (434.1.d, +3) is not text at all and applies either way it is attached.

Play Spinning Axe (2 Energy + 1 Power)
Steps
- Play Spinning Axe (2 Energy + 1 Power). [Quick-Draw] attaches it to a unit you control on the play, with no [Equip] cost determined (819.1.d).
- While attached, 718.2 makes its printed Rules Text — including [Temporary] — Inactive, so 816.1.b never fires. The carrier is +3 Might (434.1.d).
- If the carrier is about to die, play Factory Recall (1 Energy, [Action]) in that window and return the Axe to your hand.
- If the carrier dies first, 719.5 detaches the Axe on the board and its [Temporary] goes live: Factory Recall it before your next Beginning Phase.
- Replay it: [Quick-Draw] attaches it free to a new body, and the drawback goes back to sleep.
Per iteration
the Axe moved to a new carrier for 1 Energy (the rescue) plus its replay, with its [Temporary] clock reset to never
How it ends
engine — a +3 Might Bonus that survives its carrier indefinitely, at 2 Energy + 1 Power to redeploy and 1 Energy to rescue; nothing here scores

How this entry was audited
REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.
722, 722.1, 722.2, 723, 724 and 719.5 were all uncited by data/combos.json and data/synergies.json before this batch. SFD-186 Spinning Axe appears in one other entry (`spinning-axe-sentinel-adept-persistent-might-bonus`) and SFD-135 Factory Recall in one (`factory-recall-brittle-steel-gear-both-ways`, from this session's #173 work); neither is the Inactive-[Temporary] case, which is the different number here. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; every paragraph above opened in the Core Rules file. The first draft of this entry carried a DOMAIN legend line (five Fury/Chaos names); the replicated legend-lines check caught it before staging, because SFD-186 is a Signature card tagged Draven and 103.2.d.2 narrows the field to SFD-185 Glorious Executioner alone. Recorded rather than silently corrected. No unruled reading.
