Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Deck-build under SFD-185 / SFD-242 Glorious Executioner; 103.2.d.2 leaves no choice, since Spinning Axe is Draven's Signature card.
  2. Attack, or be attacked. 464.2.c.3 designates the sides and 465.2.c makes each side's summed Might countable.
  3. In the Closed State, play Spinning Axe for E2 + 1 Power. 819.1.d gives it [Reaction] inherently and attaches it to a unit you control as it is played, with no [Equip] paid.
  4. 137.3 puts +3 on that body permanently, and 465.2.c reads the new value when damage is assigned.
  5. If only your units remain after the combat, the legend draws you a card.
  6. The Axe stays attached across turns (137.3.a), so the +3 is there again next combat; its [Temporary] clause only arms if the carrier dies and leaves it unattached.
  7. If that happens, play a Sentinel Adept: its [Weaponmaster] re-equips the Axe for one rainbow less than its one-rainbow [Equip], i.e. for nothing (356.6), which is the only legal way to move an already-attached Equipment (718.2 with 721.2).

How it ends

engine only — a permanent +3 Might per Axe, bought at [Reaction] speed for E2 + 1 Power, three a game (103.2.b and the Signature budget); it draws a card on each combat it wins outright and nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07, issue #170, from the Core-Rules-named sweep; SFD-186 Spinning Axe was in zero entries. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. The content is that a Might BONUS is permanent (137.3.a) where every combat trick in the format expires at 317.2.c, and [Quick-Draw] buys it at Reaction speed — plus the batch-5 finding applied: an attached Equipment cannot pay its own [Equip], so [Weaponmaster]'s printed 'even if it's already attached' is what makes Sentinel Adept the rescue. Trap check: the Signature lock is stated (one legend; three Axes spend the whole 103.2.d.1 budget); the [Temporary] clause is stated as conditional and its window is cited (816.1.b); the legend's win condition is quoted exactly rather than treated as 'winning a fight'; 818.1 is cited so no play trigger is smuggled into the re-attach.
