Combo · ENGINE
Sprite Queen under LeBlanc — a permanent 3-Might body every Beginning Phase, for free
Pieces
- Sprite Queen ×1
UNL-084 · engine · mind
When you play me or at the start of your Beginning Phase, play a ready 3 Might Sprite unit token with [Temporary] to your base. (Kill them at the start of their controller's next Beginning Phase, before scoring.)
- LeBlanc, Everywhere at Once ×1
UNL-090 · enabler · mind
[Backline] (I must be assigned combat damage last.) Your [Temporary] effects at my battlefield don't trigger.
Payoff
Deck
- MONO-MIND. Any legend with Mind in its pair (103.1.b.3), and no battlefield of yours is required — LeBlanc simply has to be standing on whichever one you control.
Run play
Prerequisites
- THE NEW SPRITE SURVIVES ITS OWN BIRTH TURN, AND THE RULE SAYS SO WITHOUT ANY ORDERING ARGUMENT. 816.1.c: 'The Trigger Condition is the controller of the permanent's Beginning Phase starting.' The Queen's trigger and every [Temporary] trigger fire at the same instant, so the Sprite she plays ENTERS after that condition has already been checked — its own [Temporary] simply does not trigger this turn. 383.3.d would let you order the simultaneous triggers anyway, but you do not need to.
- So the whole engine is one walk. The Sprite is printed READY, so 144.2's exhaust cost is payable the moment it appears: standard-move it to LeBlanc's battlefield in your Main Phase (144.1.a, 144.4.a) and 816.1.b never triggers on it again (R10 = A). One permanent 3-Might body per turn, at zero recurring cost, forever.
- LeBlanc covers HER battlefield only. A Sprite left at your base dies at your next Beginning Phase like any other [Temporary] permanent — the walk is not optional, it is the engine. This is exactly the caveat leblanc-temporary's rule text states and the reason a base-born token faucet is not automatically a LeBlanc engine.
- One a turn is slow, and the entry says so rather than dressing it up: it does NOT feed bottled-constellation-token-points, which needs three bodies at each Main Phase start. What it does feed is any consumer that wants a growing wall — the bodies are 3 Might, they never expire, and they cost nothing after the two cards are down.
- 816.2 / 816.2.a ('Multiple instances of Temporary are redundant... the ability will only trigger once') means nothing here can make a Sprite die twice, and 816.3 keeps [Temporary] readable as a characteristic — which is what UNL-189 Bashful Bloom's discount and UNL-076 Petal Pixie's '+1 Might for each of your units with [Temporary] at my battlefield' count, so a surviving Sprite still pays them.
- Eleven Energy and 1 Mind Power for the pair, and the Queen's own play trigger gives the first Sprite immediately. She is a 6-Might body and LeBlanc a 4-Might [Backline] one; losing LeBlanc kills every accumulated Sprite at the next Beginning Phase in one stroke.
Steps
- Play LeBlanc, Everywhere at Once (4 Energy) to a battlefield you control.
- Play Sprite Queen (7 Energy + 1 Mind Power). Her play trigger gives the first ready Sprite at your base.
- Same Main Phase: standard-move that Sprite to LeBlanc's battlefield (144.1.a, 144.2, 144.4.a). It is now permanent.
- Each of your Beginning Phases: the Queen's trigger plays a new ready Sprite at your base. Its [Temporary] does not trigger this turn, because 816.1.c already checked the Beginning Phase starting before it entered.
- Main Phase: walk the new Sprite to LeBlanc's battlefield. Repeat every turn; the army only grows.
Per iteration
+1 permanent 3-Might Sprite per turn, at no recurring cost
How it ends
engine — an unbounded but slow wall of 3-Might bodies; it scores nothing by itself

AUTHORED 2026-09-06 from issue #160. UNL-084 Sprite Queen has four entries in the catalogue and none of them is with UNL-090; it was an uncatalogued partner of leblanc-temporary. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 144.1.a, 144.2, 144.4.a, 383.3.d, 816.1.b, 816.1.c, 816.2, 816.2.a and 816.3 opened in the Core Rules file. Stands on R10 = A (ruled 2026-09-04); no new reading. 816.1.c is the paragraph that makes this work and the walk states it explicitly, because the obvious first reading — 'the Sprite is born at the start of the Beginning Phase, so it dies at the start of the Beginning Phase' — is wrong and would kill the entry. Trap check: no attack; nothing recycled; no [Repeat]; no recall; the base-versus-battlefield scope of LeBlanc's clause is stated rather than assumed; nothing added in Awaken so 167 does not bite.
