Combo · ENGINE
Teemo, Strategist × three Svellsongur — up to forty damage on defence, and no Burn Out
Pieces
- Teemo, Strategist ×1
OGN-121 · engine · mind
[Hidden] (Hide now for 1 Power of any domain to react with later for 0 Energy.) When I defend, choose an enemy unit here and reveal the top 5 cards of your Main Deck. Deal 1 to that unit for each card with [Hidden] revealed this way, then recycle the revealed cards.
- Svellsongur ×3
SFD-059 · engine · calm
[Equip] 1 Energy + 1 Calm Power (1 Energy + 1 Calm Power: Attach this to a unit you control.) As this is attached to a unit, copy that unit's text to this Equipment's effect text for as long as this is attached to it.
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains must cover Calm and Mind — OGN-255 Nine-Tailed Fox, SFD-189 Fire Below the Mountain, UNL-189 Bashful Bloom, VEN-145 Curator of the Sands.
Prerequisites
- FORTY REVEALS AND NOT ONE OF THEM CAN BURN YOU OUT. 431.1.c is explicit — 'If an instruction directs a player to look at or reveal cards in excess to the number of cards in a player's Main Deck, that player looks at or Reveals as many as possible, but does not Burn Out' — and 431.1.c.1 extends it to the zone change that follows. Eight instances of 'reveal the top 5' is 40 cards through the top of the deck in one combat, and the recycles put them straight back (416.1.a / 416.5 send them to the BOTTOM), so the engine cannot mill you either.
- THE DAMAGE SCALES WITH HOW MANY [Hidden] CARDS THE DECK RUNS, and it is aimed one instance at a time — 'choose an enemy unit here' is read per execution, so 8 × up to 5 is up to 40 damage spread across the whole attacking side, not one lump. In a deck built on the [Hidden] package (15 units, 2 gear and spells across all six domains) three or four of every five revealed are Hidden, so the realistic figure is 24 to 32.
- IT ONLY FIRES ON DEFENCE, AND THAT IS THE ENTRY'S BOUNDARY. 383.4.f: 'Defend Triggers are Triggered Abilities that trigger when a Unit or Player gains the Defender designation for the first time during a combat.' teemo-strategist-lures-the-attacker's own rule text states the problem in one line — a player who has seen him simply stops attacking his battlefield. What this build changes is the price of finding out: Teemo is [Hidden] himself, so the attacker commits before the board is revealed, and 811.1.b lets him be hidden for 1 rainbow Power and played for free.
- The revealed cards are recycled, which means the SAME cards come back around: 416.1.a puts them on the bottom, so a 39-card deck (103.2 with 103.2.a.1 removing the Chosen Champion) cycles completely in one combat and the [Hidden] density you measured is the density you get.
- Teemo is a 2-Might body and Svellsongur is M+0 (137.3), so he does not survive the combat he wins — 465.2.c sums the attackers' Might and 465.2.c.3 forces lethal onto one unit first. 137.3.a takes all eight instances with him. The engine is a one-combat wall, repeatable only if he lives or is replayed.
- Cost, counted whole: Teemo 2 Energy + 1 Mind Power, each Svellsongur 3 Energy + 1 Calm Power to play PLUS 1 Energy + 1 Calm Power to [Equip]. 14 Energy, 1 Mind Power and 6 Calm Power.
- 424.1.a.2 is the MECHANISM under the 431.1.c protection this entry already cites, and the entry carries the consequence without it: "Cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from." Riot's own example is that a card Revealed from the top of the Main Deck "is still the top card of that player's Main Deck." So revealing can never Burn Out because NOTHING LEAVES THE DECK, which 424.1.a states as the general fact: "Revealed is a temporary state and is not a zone." Same shape this file records for 355.7 against 355.10.d and 811.6 against the tail of 811.1.b.
Steps
- Play Teemo, Strategist (2 Energy + 1 Mind Power) to a battlefield you control, or hide him face down for 1 rainbow Power (811.1.b) and play him free from there.
- Attach Svellsongur A, B and C to him in that order: 2, then 4, then 8 instances of his defend trigger (434.1.c, 476.1, 477.2.c, 479.1, 480.3; R6 = A).
- The opponent attacks that battlefield. Teemo gains the Defender designation and all eight triggers are placed (383.4.f, 383.4.f.2); 464.2.e.1 puts the Defender's triggers on the Chain last, so 340.1 resolves them FIRST — before combat damage.
- Resolve them one at a time. Each chooses an enemy unit here, reveals the top 5 of your Main Deck, deals 1 for each [Hidden] card revealed, and recycles all five to the bottom (416.1.a).
- 431.1.c means none of this Burns you Out however empty the deck is. Spread the eight instances to kill several attackers, or stack them on the biggest.
- Whatever survives resolves the ordinary combat damage step (465.2).
Per iteration
up to 40 damage in one defence, aimed as eight independent instructions, with no Burn Out at any deck size
How it ends
engine — repeatable removal on defence only; it scores nothing

AUTHORED 2026-09-06 from issue #160, taking up the lead #117's walk left open — 'OGN-121 Teemo, Strategist reveals the top FIVE cards on defend, a removal scaled by the [Hidden] package' — and pairing it with the copier, which teemo-strategist-lures-the-attacker (13 partners, 3 entries) had never met. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt; 103.2, 103.2.a.1, 137.3, 137.3.a, 340.1, 383.4.f, 383.4.f.2, 416.1.a, 416.5, 431.1.c, 431.1.c.1, 434.1.c, 464.2.e.1, 465.2, 465.2.c, 465.2.c.3, 476.1, 477.2.c, 479.1, 480.3 and 811.1.b opened in the Core Rules file. Stands on R6 = A; no new reading. It is the fourth member of the Burn Out set with the Apprentice Smith (reveals, safe), the Traveling Merchant (draws, fused) and Qiyana (modal) — and the only one that turns reveals into damage.
