Teemo, Strategist reveals Undertitans on the opponent's turn — damage and the 2 Energy that pays Kennen's stun
Pieces
- Teemo, Strategist ×3
OGN-121 · engine · mind
[Hidden] (Hide now for 1 Power of any domain to react with later for 0 Energy.) When I defend, choose an enemy unit here and reveal the top 5 cards of your Main Deck. Deal 1 to that unit for each card with [Hidden] revealed this way, then recycle the revealed cards.
- Undertitan ×3
SFD-175 · payoff · order
When you play me, give your other units +2 Might this turn. As I'm revealed from your deck, [Add] 2 Energy.
- Kennen, Keeper of Balance ×3
VEN-135 · enabler · order
[Hidden] (Hide now for 1 Power of any domain to react with later for 0 Energy.) When you play me or I attack, you may pay 2 Energy to [Stun] a unit. (It doesn't deal combat damage this turn.) While there's a stunned enemy unit here, I have +2 Might.

Deck
- Mind/Order. Teemo is mono-Mind and both partners mono-Order, so 103.1.b.3 admits all three under any of the four Mind/Order legends: OGN-265 Herald of the Arcane, OGS-021 Lady of Luminosity - Starter, SFD-201 Chem-Baroness, UNL-199 Deceiver.
- Nothing has to be on the board first except Teemo at a battlefield you control.
Prerequisites
- IT IS NOT diana-lunari-showdown-scry's LEDGER, FOR A REASON NEITHER #117 NOR #141 GAVE. Diana leaves the revealed card on top (424.1.a.2) and that entry records 315.4.b drawing it, so each Undertitan there is worth ONE Add per trip to the top. Teemo's 'then recycle the revealed cards' is MANDATORY and 416.1.a sends it to the bottom, where the mandatory draw can never reach it. Every copy pays again on every cycle, for the whole game. The triggers differ too: Diana's is any showdown beginning at her battlefield, Teemo's is a Defend Trigger, so it never fires on your own attack.
- THE ENERGY'S SHELF LIFE, AND WHAT IT BUYS. The reveal happens on the opponent's turn, and 167 empties the Rune Pool 'at the start of each player's Main Phase and the end of each player's turn' — theirs has already begun, so the Energy lives until the end of their turn and no longer. 312.2.a grants Priority in a Neutral Open State only during your OWN Main Phase, so on their turn you act solely through 312.2.b/c/d — a Showdown or a Closed State — which means the Energy can only buy a [Reaction] (813.1.c.1 on cards, 813.1.c.2 on abilities). In shell it buys exactly one thing: VEN-135 Kennen's 'you may pay 2 Energy to [Stun] a unit', at exactly 2 Energy. Out of shell and in Mind/Order at 2 Energy or less with no Power cost: OGN-095 Stupefy (E1), UNL-173 Sacrifice (E1), SFD-066 Frigid Touch (E2), UNL-061 Downstage Dramatics (E2), UNL-175 Tactical Retreat (E2), SFD-151 Bonds of Strength (E2).
- THE ARITHMETIC. 103.2 counts the Chosen Champion inside the 40 and 103.2.a.1 removes it, so 39 are shuffled and the revealed five are a uniform 5-subset of them; no hand-size assumption is needed (116 draws 4). At the declared H = 12 (3 Teemo + 3 each of VEN-135 Kennen, VEN-117 Disciple of Shen, SFD-154 Guards!): E[hits] = 5x12/39 = 1.54 and P(0 hits) = C(27,5)/C(39,5) = 14.02% — not the 1.7 the issue published from N = 36. The ramp is E[Undertitan revealed] = 5x3/39 = 0.385 copies, i.e. 0.77 Energy per Defend Trigger. Ceiling 5 damage and 6 Energy on the same event. This is the weakest of #141's three in raw damage and the only one that pays in a second currency.
- THE MIND/ORDER [HIDDEN] POOL IS 13, NOT 14, UNDER THREE OF THE FOUR LEGENDS. SFD-202 Hostile Takeover is the dual the issue counted, and it is Signature tagged Renata Glasc — 103.2.d.2 admits it only under SFD-201 Chem-Baroness, whose tag is Renata Glasc. Under Herald of the Arcane, Lady of Luminosity or Deceiver the count is 13.
- THIS IS THE ONLY ONE OF THE THREE THAT CANNOT FORCE ITS OWN TRIGGER, AND THAT IS STRUCTURAL. 383.4.f.2.a caps the trigger at once per combat and 464.2.c.2 makes you the Defender only when the OPPONENT's unit applied Contested, so the rate is per enemy attack into Teemo's battlefield. Candidates 1 and 2 buy their way out by dragging an enemy body onto their own battlefield (190.3.a.1, 450), but a grep of all 24 enemy-move effects in the pool finds none in Mind/Order: every one is Calm, Chaos, Body or a dual containing one of those, and the only Order-touching cards are VEN-148 Shadow Dash (Calm/Order) and SFD-177 Azir, Sovereign (tokens only, on his own attack). This entry stays reactive on purpose.
- TEEMO CAN BE THE SURPRISE BLOCKER, WHICH IS WHERE THE REACTIVITY IS WORTH SOMETHING. Hidden at the battlefield they attack, he is played from face down for 0 inside the Combat Showdown (347.1; [Reaction] from 811.1.b, 813.1.b past 155, 813.3.a for the destination), and 464.2.c.3.a designates him 'during the Cleanup phase following the action that caused it to become present' — the first time in that combat, so 383.4.f fires. 811.1.b allows only one face-down card per battlefield, so Kennen cannot be hidden there too; he is played normally, or hidden at the other battlefield.
- SAFE IN ANY SHELL. 431.1.c makes the reveal safe with fewer than 5 cards left and 431.1.c.1 drops the leftover instructions without a Burn Out; nothing here draws, so 431.1.a is never risked. 809.1.c/809.1.d tax Teemo's 'choose an enemy unit here' against a [Deflect] attacker with Power that has to be banked first on their turn (164.2.b).
- OVERLAP, DECLARED. reksai-undertitan-reveal, void-rush-undertitan-accelerate and diana-lunari-showdown-scry already use SFD-175. The first two are blind reveals inside a Void shell on your own attack; the third is an informed reveal that spends each copy. This is the only one that fires on the OPPONENT's turn and the only one whose recycle keeps every copy in the deck.
- CITATION UPGRADE (2026-09-09): 369.1 is the paragraph that makes Undertitan’s “As I’m revealed” a Replacement Effect rather than a trigger, and Riot names the card in the example - which is why the reveal and the Add are one event and nothing can respond between them.
- 370.1.b.1 NAMES THIS CARD IN ITS OWN WORKED EXAMPLE AND WAS UNCITED HERE (upgrade 2026-09-12; a debt two separate lanes flagged). An *"as you look at or reveal me"* clause is a REPLACEMENT EFFECT, not a Triggered Ability: 370.1.b.1 - *"In the case of Replacement Effects that describe a game action to occur `as` an event occurs, the described event is replaced by that same event plus the game action being performed"* - and 371.2 is what makes its *"you may"* legal. Three consequences a trigger would not buy: there is **no Chain Item**, so no window exists between the look and the body arriving; it is **immune to every trigger multiplier in the pool** (`OGN-236 Karthus` doubles Deathknells, `UNL-087 Blue Sentinel` and `UNL-029 Red Brambleback` double Hold and Conquer triggers, and none of them can see a replacement); and 431.1.c keeps the look itself free of Burn Out.
- WHY AN ABILITY ON A CARD NOBODY HAS PLAYED WORKS AT ALL, WHICH THIS FAMILY CITED FOR NEITHER (upgrade 2026-09-12, #187 batch 15). Every entry in the Undertitan/Nocturne family cites 370.1.b.1, which says what KIND of ability it is and nothing about why it is active in the Main Deck. Three paragraphs answer that: **365.1 is the DEFAULT that would kill the family** - *"Passive Abilities of Permanents are typically only active while on the Board"*; **366.1 is the OVERRIDE** - *"Passive Abilities of cards in zones that are outside of the Board will self-describe their context"* - which was cited by TWO entries out of 762, neither of them here; and **368.1** - *"Passive Abilities can be Replacement Effects"* - had ZERO citations anywhere and is the hinge, because it is what makes 366.1 rather than 385.1 the applicable block. This project carries 385.1 and 385.2, the TRIGGERED-outside-the-board pair, at 16 and 42 citations and had never had the passive counterpart, so a reader reaches for 385 and gets the wrong block. **424.1.a.2** completes it - cards remain in the zone they are being Revealed from, with Riot naming the top of the Main Deck - which is why the self-described context is satisfied at the instant the passive fires.
- 370.3 IS THE NARROWEST AND MOST ON-POINT PARAGRAPH FOR THIS CARD AND IT WAS MISSING FROM THE WHOLE FAMILY (self-audit upgrade 2026-09-12, #187 batch 20). The earlier pass prescribed 365.1, 366.1, 368.1 and 424.1.a.2, which are about PASSIVE ABILITIES IN GENERAL. **370.3 is about REPLACEMENT EFFECTS AND ZONES SPECIFICALLY**: *"If a Game Object has a Replacement Effect that is active in a specific zone, it is evaluated and subsequently applied if it enters that zone before an event occurs that it could replace."* Measured on 2026-09-12 it was cited by **exactly ONE entry in 762** and by none of this family. 366.1 says a passive outside the board self-describes its context; 370.3 says a replacement effect can be ACTIVE IN A ZONE and is applied if the object entered that zone first - and for a card sitting in the Main Deck since the game began that timing half is free, **which is exactly why it is easy to leave out** and why its worked example is the case where the half BITES.
- 204.3.a IS THE FIRST AND CLEANER SOURCE FOR THIS, AND IT CARRIES THE WORKED EXAMPLE: "When Costs within Instructions appear as the first part of the effect in triggered abilities, the cost is taken to be the base cost of the triggered ability. It must be paid to finalize the triggered ability", with Riot's example being Overzealous Fan - "When I defend, you may kill me to move an attacking unit to its base" - and the note that "in order to finalize the ability to the chain, its controller must kill Overzealous Fan". 383.3.b says the same thing later in the book. The companion is 204.3.b: a cost appearing in a SPELL, in an ACTIVATED ability, or in a LATER part of a trigger's effect is paid on resolution instead, which is the 205 "pay X. If you do, Y" family and the reason the two look alike on the card and behave differently on the chain.
Steps
- Build Mind/Order with three Undertitans and the [Hidden] density above. Get a Teemo to a battlefield you control.
- The opponent attacks that battlefield. 464.2.c.1/c.2 make them the Attacker and you the Defender; 464.2.c.3 designates Teemo (or 464.2.c.3.a does, in the next Cleanup, if you flip him in from face down inside the Combat Showdown).
- 383.4.f fires. 464.2.e.1 puts it on the Combat Chain last, so 340.1 resolves it first. Choose an enemy unit there and reveal the top 5.
- Every Undertitan among the five triggers: 385.2 lets its ability work from the Main Deck, 424.1/424.1.a.1 are the Reveal, and 429.2/429.2.a put 2 Energy in the pool immediately — before Teemo's own resolution has reached its damage step.
- Deal 1 per [Hidden] revealed to the chosen unit, then recycle all five to the bottom (416.1.a, 416.5). The Undertitans go back into the deck, not into your hand.
- Spend the Energy before the end of their turn (167). In shell it pays Kennen, Keeper of Balance's 2-Energy stun exactly, a base cost 383.3.b/383.3.b.1 make payable only at finalization — which is why it has to be banked and why the Undertitan is the source.
Per iteration
1.54 damage and 0.77 Energy on average per Defend Trigger at the declared density, with a ceiling of 5 damage and 6 Energy on one event
How it ends
engine only — one trigger per enemy attack into Teemo's battlefield, and the Energy dies at the end of that turn (167); nothing here scores a point

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue141-teemo-strategist-reveal.md), issue #141 candidate 3. VERIFIED as ENGINE. IT DOES NOT DUPLICATE diana-lunari-showdown-scry's LEDGER, and the reason is one neither #117 nor #141 gave: Teemo's 'then recycle the revealed cards' is MANDATORY, so 416.1.a bottoms every Undertitan and 315.4.b can never draw one — each copy pays again on every cycle, where Diana's copies are spent one Add at a time because 424.1.a.2 leaves the card on top for the Draw Phase to take. The issue's arithmetic is corrected the same way as its siblings: 103.2 counts the Chosen Champion inside the 40 and 103.2.a.1 removes it, so the shuffled deck is 39 and the revealed five are a uniform 5-subset of it — E[hits] = 1.54 (not 1.7), P(0) = 14.02%, and 0.77 Energy per trigger. Two additions. (1) The Energy's use is now concrete rather than asserted: 167 keeps it only until the end of the opponent's turn, 312.2.a grants a Neutral-Open-State Priority only during your OWN Main Phase so on theirs you act solely in Showdowns and Closed States (312.2.b/c/d), and what that buys is a [Reaction] — in shell exactly VEN-135 Kennen's 2-Energy stun, which 383.3.b makes the trigger's BASE COST and 383.3.b.1 makes payable only at finalization, i.e. it must already be banked. (2) The Mind/Order [Hidden] pool is 13, not 14, under three of the four legends: SFD-202 Hostile Takeover is Signature tagged Renata Glasc, so 103.2.d.2 admits it only under SFD-201 Chem-Baroness. Structural weakness recorded rather than hidden: a grep of all 24 enemy-move effects in the pool finds NO Mind/Order card that drags an enemy body onto your own battlefield, so unlike candidates 1 and 2 this one cannot force its own Defend Trigger and stays reactive.
